Metrofan56 Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I just found out that this huge Meisho jet coaster that was SBNO is now back in operation!! rcdb.com/3692.htm?p=0 Can someone go there to get a onride video of it?
A.J. Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 That doesn't seem like a good idea, because North Korea.
Wes Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 LOL you want someone to go to North Korea to get a POV of a coaster?????
robbalvey Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 Can someone go there to get a onride video of it? Yes, I'll jump right on that!!! Should be online by midnight tonight.
Metrofan56 Posted January 14, 2013 Author Posted January 14, 2013 I am making a huge No limits jetcoaster inspired by it.
robbalvey Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 I am making a huge No limits jetcoaster inspired by it. Wow, um... how very exciting that must be. Can't wait to see the finished version!
cfc Posted January 14, 2013 Posted January 14, 2013 ^How wonderfully enlightened is the son of Kim Jong Ill!
Jew Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 ^^Based on that, there is no question what is going to be #1 when Mitch launches the steel coaster poll.
mightypotato Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Â All glory to the great Kim Jong-Un and his great Revolutionary Juche Coaster! May it bring 1000 years of happiness to the Korean peoples.
australianalex Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Yay, it's running! Kim Jong Un working his miracles once again. National holiday time, everyone in Pyongyang is allowed to eat in celebration!
coastercrazy216 Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 Yes!!!! Another old and boring coaster is open! I wish Intamin made more jet-coasters.
Zem Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I've always wondered about a TPR trip to North Korea. They let in about 1000 tourists a year and an organization like TPR could possibly get in. It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity and they a have a a few parks. http://rcdb.com/r.htm?nm=na&pl=26717&ot=2
larrygator Posted January 15, 2013 Posted January 15, 2013 I've always wondered about a TPR trip to North Korea. It would be a once in a lifetime opportunity and they a have a a few parks. http://rcdb.com/r.htm?nm=na&pl=26717&ot=2 Â I think it is pretty clear from looking at all the Trip Reports from TPR Tours that credit whoring is not the main goal of TPR Tours. Robb and Elissa will not waste time taking a group to ride the 7 crappy coasters of North Korea. Unless Intamin, B&M, Intamin, GCI, Intamin, S&S, Intamin, Gravity Group, Intamin, Mack, Intamin, Maurer Sohne, Intamin, Gerstlauer and Intamin put some installations in North Korea I don't see Robb and Elissa wasting their time.
australianalex Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 Also going to North Korea to go ride a few rides while the whole nation is under oppression and on the brink of poverty would be a bit insensitive IMO.
11slataus Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 But they have a shiny, newish Zamperla flyer! Best coaster in the country probably.
mightypotato Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 (edited) Also going to North Korea to go ride a few rides while the whole nation is under oppression and on the brink of poverty would be a bit insensitive IMO.  North Korea has been well over the brink of poverty and has been residing in a deep canyon of it since the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, I am bizarrely fascinated with North Korea. It's a great study in mass propaganda and totalitarian control. I would actually like to visit the country, but that poses a lot of other problems, both logistical and ethical.  For some good reading about North Korea, I recommend: Nothing To Envy: Ordinary Lives in North Korea The Aquariums of Pyongyang: Ten Years in the North Korean Gulag  Both are fascinating, but horribly depressing. SharkTums Posted January 16, 2013 Posted January 16, 2013 But they have a shiny, newish Zamperla flyer! Best coaster in the country probably. Â This is exactly why we would NOT do a coaster trip to North Korea. When a volare is your best coaster by far, there's a big problem!
Intaman Posted January 17, 2013 Posted January 17, 2013 ^How wonderfully enlightened is the son of Kim Jong Ill! Â Â Is he a TPR member?
Loefet Posted January 20, 2013 Posted January 20, 2013 This would mean that Bannister and other enthusiast that have been to NK have to go back
GigaG Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 (edited) So this is a bunch of people. Walking on the tracks of Kwansong Yolcha during its defunct period. It has a new paint job now as far as I can tell from pictures. This has the old paintjob and based on the title, is the defunct period. Â Edited May 22, 2014 by GigaG
Ed Farmer Posted May 22, 2014 Posted May 22, 2014 LOL you want someone to go to North Korea to get a POV of a coaster????? Â * Â *For the record, I think most of the bad publicity he gets for the North Korea stuff is unwarranted.
