The new GCI Woodie from the Efteling has make his first rounds !!

The train is on the top of the lifthill, ready for his first ride..!

in a few weeks, you see 24 people with a big smile !

That was kind of weird, the first video of the ride seemed to make it seem slowish, the second made it look like it hauled ass. I am going by the second based on the fact that GCI have a history of seemingly very fast rides. Wow, this looks great...TPR Europetrip people...I'm jealous.

So today i went for another visit to Efteling.

Fingers crossed it would not be too busy... i had good hopes of getting some images of the new coaster (and give you guys an update) and maybe even some shots at other rides in the park..

turned out.. it was busy..

 

So in the end i got some pictures of the coaster.. and went home again to upload them.

ok, let's focus.. the new ride, still planned to open jult 1st

this looks familiar

the water level is low... but progress has been made since my last visit..

did i mention that it looked like they were working on the inside of the station

no chain, but it looks like a rope..

all prepared to pull in (or up) the chain

it looked like they were checking every single bolt and nail on the side they ran a train on the previous night

can't wait for the trains..

and yes... this is efteling as well..

by this time i had seen enough crowds.. so i went outside the park for a quick check.. chain..

no chain..

after fiddling around with my camera i managed to get this shot of the side of one of the trains..

and the last one, can't wait for this ride to open and see how people will react to it...

Those details on the train are really pretty schnazzy. Does anyone know if Efteling has any experience with animatronics? I want to know how the dragon is going to turn out.

^ The bird outside the Vogel-Rok coaster is an animatronic, so they have experience of it. But I don't think that they will have much problem though, it would have been way worse if this coaster would have been at Thorpe.

Thanks for the pictures, Hanno--this looks like a great addition to Efteling. This park is absolutely beautiful, and it's great how they're paying so much attention to theming their new woodie.

Thanks for posting the pics Hanno. This ride looks like to be promising, and I've never noticed how nice Efteling was. The theming there looks amazing, definitely a park that I'd like to visit sometime. Makes me kind of regret not doing a European trip.

great photogs, Hanno the woodie looks intense in that it's (fittingly) serpentine and doubles back on itself a lot. Am curious to see how it rides when it opens.

Some of you might remember I made a NoLimits track right after the blueprints where posted. Well, that ride had some parts way off because it was based only of the top view.

 

This new version has got the layout and timing right.

Before someone asks, in the Netherlands you can just get this kind of stuff. If someone would buy something, people may look at it first and complain if they have a good reason.

I got mail last time, GCI wanted to know where I got the Joris en de Draak drawings (new dualing Efteling woody)...

I think the new wooden coaster and a good, up-to-date dark ride are both good moves for Efteling. It needs a really good coaster, and the dark ride will maintain this beautiful park's appeal for families.

Today the first public (preview) rides are going to take place.

 

This is the brand new music for Joris en de Draak. There are different versions, for example: a more mysterious version for the misty swamps they have created around the new coaster, but the central theme (tatataaa, tatatataaataaa) will most likely be the same in all versions:

I think I'm in love with the music. That is really, really well done! I really want to make it over there and check out this park, not to mention the coaster itself. The dragon looks phenomenal!
