All 4 of them; "The old lady" (Python), "The Racer" (Joris en de Draak), "The cursed" (Vliegende Hollander) and the "Themed" (Baron 1898).

Interesting take on my big 4 picture, yet accurate.

Anyways here's my full update from yesterday including all my pictures from vijfzintuigen and more:

You can see the site from far away now:

^ That would be to much yeah. Yes these aren't the most exiting or fantastic coasters out there, but these 4 are part of the best the Netherlands has to offer if you ask me. Plus when you look at that picture it really feels like a collection of rides rather then just stand alone rides in a park.

Man, the theming seems to be so top notch. A lot of those European and Asian parks do go the extra mile for that. If only some of the parks around here would do that. Outside of Disney and Universal, not too many parks would put that kind of money into theming. Other than that, the ride looks great.

I think I know why most american themepark groups don't invest a lot in theming, the crowds are simply different between the american and european parks. Most or more than half of the people who visite themeparks in america are teens/thrill seekers (there are of course exceptions), who rather have a 200 ft coaster than a well themed dark ride. While in europe families are the focus point when it comes to crowds. That's why 6 flags failed, because they built and organised their parks from an american pov and not an european (looking at the rides they've built).

Thats nonsense. The european six flags parks didn't fail. The american parks did, six flags corp sold of the european parks to focus more on their original market. European parks in general focus more on family entertaiment, but that's not to say that parks who focus on teens are helpless (thorpe park, walibi world).

All kind of things are happening today at the construction site.

Scaffolding going down:

B-Cyas0IcAAv8ah.jpg

Top of the Lift has arrived:

B-Cy1ntIAAEM3pr.jpg

B-C5XwSCQAADSwo.jpg

Fence going around the platform that will be placed on top of the tower:

B-C5WawCMAAkoOG.jpg

Entrance roof getting more detail and in the background notice the chimney on the tower:

And more here.

Still everything looks great about this ride and I can't wait seeing more of this, and I'm already looking forward to my next visit.

Edit: Didn't get any warning about others posting, weird anyway I let it stay like this.

^So this will be the first dive machine with no turn before the drop, right?

Yes this is the first without a turn. Still wonder if this means there will be things different.

And the award for biggest coaster station built goes to.....

This looks great so far, but I really hope they get this open for early June, i'm sure it won't take long to install the track, good to see that it's starting to arrive and hopefully we'll finally get a good idea of the specific layout.

It's interesting that half of the lift hill will be enclosed, I wonder what treats they have in store for that part, along with the tunnel.

It's not confirmed but it seems that there will be at least one animatronic and 1 or 2 pre-shows. You could compare it a bit like "De vliegende Hollander". A themed interesting queue with some surprises, a beautiful themed station, perhaps some themed trains, a pre-show before the lifthill, some elements during the lift and a pretty nice but short rollercoaster ride.

It's just what you desire is in a ride. For me, theming counts more then a large rollercoaster. When I rode for example Raptor in Cedar Point, it was a great ride but that's it. The feeling about it was like a lot of other normal coasters. When i Rode Black Mamba or Nemesis (to compare the same type of rides), it delivered me a lot better feeling. It's the total picture that counts for me.

Again, all rollercoasters are great to ride. It's just that some of them just gives you a larger experience.

Anyway, I'm really looking forward for this one. lets hope indeed that it opens before the summer comes in, and the crowds increase within the park.

If I remember correctly there are official reports that construction would take 10 months, that count stated in September meaning we're looking more at a late June early July rather then early June. So you better not get your hopes up.

Something I noticed on today's update found here:

Seems like the chain is going from downstairs al the way to the drop and function as lift and drop chain at the same time. I mean that return goes literally al the way towards chain lift, It's like there isn't any other way then there will be one chain. (off course the chain unhooks for a little time when we cross the tires). I mean besides the hole (that will be filled up with a beam that will connect the Gondoletta side of the tower and the Flying Dutchman side) there isn't any point the return seems to be interrupted, and besides that we have no motor for the drop underneath the track piece. Seems like they changed it because the left out the turn this time. It's just a theory off course but still sounds the most logical now.

^ You would think that is the most logical way of thinking. Apparently it isn't there is really a huge amount of people claiming that it is Impossible, aether because there are the tires on top of the lift (they think they're useless then, when I told the same theory like above on a Dutch forum this was also the first argument trying to claim my wrong) or the drop Chain isn't in the middle of the track and the lift chain apparently is, so we have 2 different hooks (Also D10 are mentioned as the source not the D6 like Baron will be). I mean it's a freaky comedy right now those arguments, they only want to see how it is on top rather then look beneath the track and notice the return.

And your statement is right all along, because the following picture approves it :

^ That even confuses me a little so A the tire's are literally useless or the Chain is lower there? I had a small theory on myself that there would be a gear there to carry the weight of the trains, but that seems out of the question. Anyway's great to see that the 1 chain theory was right, after all it was theory till seconds ago.

I think the tires are there incase of an emergency stop or as a block perhaps?
