Honestly, it would make more sense to just move all of the waterpark elements over by Hyena Falls back over to the main waterpark and just be done with it.

Hyena Falls was installed in 2013, so it wouldn't be justified to move it. It might make more sense to move Kima Bay out by Hyena Falls, which opens up the land between Kima Bay, Bakuli, and Mammoth for a water coaster or slide.

The next "big" ride actually needs to be in the Christmas or Fourth of July sections, as Halloween and Thanksgiving have most of the park's thrill rides.

Voyage's layout is already so good as it is! I'm personally opposed to the addition of an inversion, BUT if they did get one, at least it would force them to get better trains. Just keep working on those rough spots on the return run and call it a day. Now a new element on Legend would be cool. Not sure what they would put in and where though.

EDIT: Just watched the video again and noticed the Legend had a strong background presence (the blueprint, trains etc.). That along with hearing that it closed early this year makes me think that Legend will probably be the one to get some cool new stuff! Can't wait to see what's in store!

For those wondering about the 2016 announcement, we'll have the answer in January.

Knowing how they give clues in a lot of their videos, and the fact that the Legend drawing is in the background, I am sure that the Legend is getting a LOT of work, maybe even the tunnel.

As to the new element....I have NO idea what that may mean, but I know it will be great.

Adding an inversion to Legend sounds kind of... Awkward to me. Voyage makes a little bit more sense honestly.

I think the Voyage is great as it is and that adding an inversion on Legend would bring attention back to the ride and make it more popular

Paula, is that a B&M calendar on VP James's office wall?

We knew someone would ask! Actually, it's an ACE calendar. James has been a member since he was 10.

I'm not even embarrassed to be that person lol

So I was looking at the webcams and I think I've figured out the whole tunnel thing. While switching views I caught a glimpse of what looked like brand new wood on the tunnel at the bottom of The Legend's first drop. So that would seem to solve that clue.

My first thought when they said new element was the periodic table of elements. Meaning that the new element would be metal topper track. Except steel isn't an element. Or is it? It has been too long since I learned that stuff.

Or maybe the element is Platinum for their 70th season, and they are painting the trains Platinum. I had a weird dream a few weeks ago that they announced that they were going to paint everything platinum (including Holidog) for their 70th season.

Steel is an alloy, not an element.

Some re-profiling in portions of the coasters or new small elements would be lovely, but implementing an inversion into either of the three existing coasters doesn't seem like a good idea to me. Voyage is already intense and awesome as it is. To those people who aren't used to its intensity, I think an inversion might push that too far.

I could see Holiday World replacing Legend's long high s-curve section just after the first drop with a couple of ground-hugging speed hills, then adjust the banking in several spots so the laterals aren't as harsh. Although the section after the first drop does go over a Splashin' Safari slide (can't remember what it's called), so that layout change might be out of the question.

What strikes my fancy is that we were told straight up that the 2016 announcement would not be a big deal at all. But considering the type of work that they are hinting at on all three woodies, that's a pretty big announcement. No not a new ride, but still more than what I expected. I have no concerns whatsoever about whatever they decide to do to the woodies. HW knows what they are doing when it comes to coasters. It's just in their blood. I don't think HW even has the ability to mess up a coaster, lol. They have my full faith and confidence..... And my intrigue and excitement as well! I would be worried if it were a different park though...Like a Six Flags or something, lol.

www.screamscape.com/html/holiday_world.htm

Not sure how high of a regard Screamscape is held to when it comes to rumors, but they claim a few months ago someone from guest relations said that something of note will be happening to the Legend. The Holiblog all but confirms that all 3 woodies will recieve some form of improvement this year.

It appears that while we're seeing a lot of innovations from RMC, we're simultaneously witnessing increased knowledge and/or effort to improve traditional track maintenance. Being that this is Holiday World and their track record (no pun intended), this is very exciting to woodie fans like myself.
