My best Guess is that this ride, in terms of B&M intensity, will be somewhere in the middle between B:TR and Patriot. I'm looking forward to it.

I'm also looking forward to it but my guess is it'll be a lot morel like patriot than BTR.

I don't think the wingrider trains could handle the intensity of old style b&m's.

I know the ride is pretty rough but intamin managed to have an intense and forceful ride with much less sophisticated winged trains, so I would imagine B&M is also capable of that. (I guess...)

Do you think that Thunderbird will be an intense coaster like the old B & M's?

LOLNO! Still, that doesn't mean it won't be a fun ride. Sure, Banshee has force (from what I've heard), but Banshee is not a Wing coaster. I think B&M still has the potential to make forceful rides, I just don't think Thunderbird will pull the g's that the old-school inverts pulled.

I really do like wing coasters. GateKeeper is #10 on my steel list. I really don't care if they don't have extreme g-forces, they are fun and give a real sense of flying, more than any other type of coaster does.

^I agree, wholeheartedly. The sensation of flying is better (and more smoother) on wingriders than on flying coasters, in my opinion.

I am confused as to why there is always a debate on how intense the ride will be. It seems that if a coaster is intense, it should be in the Top 10 no matter what the layout...as long as you grey out it should be Top 10. However, I like and judge coasters by uniqueness and the ride itself. Sometimes the added intensity is better and sometimes it isn't. I don't like to grey out on a roller coaster...that's just me. I think Thunderbird will be an amazing ride for the park and will provide a great ride as all Holiday World rides do. It will probably feel faster too because it is in the woods. That is something that I like and judge by how that is very unique.

Look at it this way; HW already has 3 super-intense coasters. This will fill in some of the gap between Holidog's coaster and the 3 woodies.

Now if they could only get an newly produced Anton speed racer

I did a quick visit to the park today with a friend, mostly to see Thunderbird but I also wanted to try the park's Halloween event for the first time. Frankly, I'm a whimp when it comes to haunted walkthroughs and haunted houses, but I definitely tried two of the three Holiday World had, Carnival Chaos and Treasure Maze. Carnival Chaos got surprisingly creepy at one point and had a very well-done startle, but the icing in it was definitely the swallowing clown and the very-effective mirror maze! We both really enjoyed it, so props to the park!

I'll spare you the photos with the same angle as previous ones from others. I'll show the more unique ones.

The ride looks pretty big from a distance, especially when you're on the highway coming to and from the park.

Up close, you can easily admire the curves!

Even the jack-o-lantern was excited for 2015!

The Treasure maze was neat as well. Little scares, mostly wandering. I wish I had done the Holidog 3D maze, but I don't think I missed much. Still, props to the park for having a neat kid-friendly halloween event.

Surprisingly creepy, but I think that's the reason why I'd love to do it a second time!

You can see my friend lost somewhere inside the maze with a new "friend."

The color scheme looks great with all the fall foliage.

Totally agree the colours look great! I will be very interested to hear what the launch is actually like and if it causes any weird vibrations or roughness in the trains.

I agree too, I think the best time to ride it is in fall.

^Agreed. It blends quite well with the park during the fall season. Their Halloween event looks a bit more elaborate than I expected, too.

Yeah, the foliage of the whole park was absolutely gorgeous yesterday. Lots of sun, with the bright colors of the trees, and leaves constantly falling. That mixed in with the theming in the Halloween and Thanksgiving areas adds so much to the park, and gives it a different vibe compared to the green of summer.

That first picture though....... Thunderbird is bigger than I thought. Great report!

That was my first thought too. That Immelmann is huge!

I think Holiday World is the best fall looking park. Instead of having a golden ticket award for the most beautiful park, they could have one for best park in fall and I am sure Holiday World would win it.

Really any park that has lots of trees looks good in the fall, whether it be Holiday World, SDC, or any other heavily wooded park.

^ I was getting ready to post the same thing.

The topography at Holiday World is pretty crazy. The placement of Thunderbird is really allowing it to tower over the park.

I'm really excited for the future of HW! I can't wait to see what else is to come, especially the future Coaster additions!
