Nrthwnd Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 Seriously though, I can't wait to ride this on the China Trip this summer and see what they'll let us try on this element! Um.... Pass The Sword?
SharkTums Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 ^That's actually exactly what I was thinking!
jjune4991 Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 So instead of a water challenge, it would be who can throw and catch a water balloon on the ride? I would go to China for that!
Justice Posted December 9, 2011 Posted December 9, 2011 ^The concept art for the ride showed PTCs, so I'm not surprised. Considering the size of the investment for these coasters, maybe it was just cheaper for them to stick with PTCs this time around. Or Timberliners were not an option when this was all planned out It was announced that it would use Timberliners in the original press release.
Nrthwnd Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 Water Balloon toss? More fun, you win! Edit to add, it would be literally... Up (and Over) For Grabs!!!
Gutterflower Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The ride has started testing More pics here http://vhcoasters.com/ and http://tieba.baidu.com/f?kw=%B9%FD%C9%BD%B3%B5
screaminkid2005 Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Nice! I can't wait to see the high 5 element with people on it!
rosscoe Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 The one image we all wanted to see is the only one missing!
SharkTums Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Hey, I'm just happy to see it testing! It does scare me a bit seeing those PTC's on it though. It would have looked so much better with the Timerliners.
rosscoe Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 Hey, I'm just happy to see it testing! . I should have also added that to my post!!

beatle11 Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 (edited) It does scare me a bit seeing those PTC's on it though. It would have looked so much better with the Timerliners. I remember reading this a few months back. I wonder if there were issues. Definitely good to see this testing though. From screamscape. 2011 - Racing / Dueling Wooden Coaster - (9/1/11) In a very strange twist, PTC has posted on their Facebook page that they have begun production on four new coaster trains for the OTC Wuhan racing coaster in China. When the coaster was first announced, a key feature was said to be in the inclusion of the Gravity Group Timberliner trains. While I know Holiday World held off an extra year before adding Timberliner trains to The Voyage coaster in Indiana (USA) the Timberliner trains have been a surprise hit at Quassy this past summer on the Wooden Warrior coaster. So anyone know what happened in Wuhan to change their mind? Edited December 19, 2011 by beatle11
ernierocker Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 I would love to see a photo of the rider envelope test through the high five section!
BeemerBoy Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 ^ First PTCs, now everyone rides in an envelope?! Wow, China sure is weird.
Twister II Posted December 19, 2011 Posted December 19, 2011 That coaster looks beautiful! Im sure it will look great all lit up at night. Good to see it testing too.
tiger01 Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 High 2.5??? From the gravity groups Facebook page.
BDG Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 It does scare me a bit seeing those PTC's on it though. It would have looked so much better with the Timerliners. Timberliners are an abomination. They look like they were designed for Space Mountain and don't belong on any wooden coaster.
SharkTums Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 ^You can think that all you want, but if they track better than a PTC I'd much prefer them! There are obviously coasters being built that PTC Trains can't handle. My worry is, this is one of them.

There are obviously coasters being built that PTC Trains can't handle. My worry is, this is one of them. Oh this is definitely one of them!!! PTC's just shuffle around everywhere on rides like this, which results in the track getting destroyed. Why they haven't changed the design of their trains since they have basically been around confuses me. I have a feeling we will only be seeing Timberliners on smaller coasters for the time being. I would even say that until we see them on Voyage (which may never happen) or at least test successfully on a larger coaster, that we won't see them on anything huge. It almost seems like the Timberliners are too "fragile" for larger coasters...

SharkTums Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 ^^I have a solution...Intamin Trains on everything!
robbalvey Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 ^ It was already posted on the previous page, but yes...looks cool.
DJeXeL Posted December 20, 2011 Posted December 20, 2011 My apologies. I guess they are going to test 1 at a time and then test together.
