gerstlaueringvar
^ Maybe they took it from a cancelled park with low price, just like Huracan .
DJeXeL
I would be OK with the multi-looper being an Intamin OR Mack product.
BDG
^ So the people voted for a new coaster. However, they're not getting the nicely themed looper you see in the artwork, but a Gerstlauer family coaster. The name wil be "Cobra des Amun Ra". (translation: "Cobra of Amun Ra") stats: ride type: Gerstlauer family coaster height: 16 mlength: 360 mspeed: 50 kphtrains: 12 cars, 2 riders each; total of 24 ridersarea: 32 m x 110 mcost: 3 million euro Construction has only just begun, but the ride should open this year, in the summer. photos: Belantis, Belantisfans And some artwork: station & queue queue train, side train, front
StealthFan
However, they're not getting the nicely themed looper you see in the artwork, but a Gerstlauer family coaster. I think this is a good choice. Gerstlauer make some really good quality family coasters.

They could be getting a Larson Super Loop.

Myself
That looks like a GCI train to me...are we certain we're talking about a Gerstlauer steel coaster? Edited April 29, 2015 by Myself
gerstlaueringvar
^^Almost exactly the same. Picturing the image of Millennium Flyer running on Gerstlauer family coaster track is quite funny. Jew
Looks like they took their own wooden train design and modified it for this...
robbalvey
I think what Yin is saying is that they ripped off the train design of the snake head that GCI did for Viper and lifted it for the coaster at Belantis. I don't think he was actually suggesting they are going to use GCI Millennium Flyer trains on the new steel coaster! lol
gerstlaueringvar
Haha Looks like they took their own wooden train design and modified it for this...This is what I meant, it's impossible to just put a MF train on a Gerstlauer family coaster! Wheel assembly aren't even facing the same direction!

Pretty fitting for this park though.
Myself
Besides, Gerstlauer already has a mold for a snake head for the front of a train...Iron Rattler anyone?

viking86
^I must say that I have seen prettier colour schemes, that's for sure! It seems like they really like single-coloured rollercoasters at Belantis, Huracan is all red and Drachenritt also looks like it has the same colour for for track and supports. I guess every time they build a new coaster they look for what paint is on sale...
Adervus
^As from the story you ride on the back of the Cobra through the desert, the colour sheme makes sense to me. I assume that they wanted to match the colour with future theming so you can barely see anything of the track at all. There's also a POV onride online now:
JordyC
New owner for German amusement park Belantis The German amusement park Belantis has a new owner. The attraction in East Germany is taken over by Parques Reunidos, known from Slagharen, Bobbejaanland and Movie Park Germany. In January there were already talks about a takeover by the Spanish chain Parques Reunidos. The deal is now complete. Belantis director Erwin Linnenbach has announced that he will leave the park. For the time being, the management of the park consists of four people. One of them is Thorsten Backhaus, the director of Movie Park Germany. He will combine both functions. Belantis, opened in 2003, attracts around 600,000 visitors a year. There are four roller coasters. Parques Reunidos is the owner of over sixty amusement parks, water parks and animal parks in fourteen different countries. The head office is in Madrid.
