Six Flags Great Adventure (SFGAdv) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

Add me to the list of surprised enthusiasts regarding NAMTAB. I expected some earboxing, but didn't experience any (but my niece took one good shot). I rode it twice and loved the intensity especially the backwards loops. i think the novelty will wear off by the end of the summer but it was real nice to experience the ride in a new way.

Rode Namtab twice today. It's really intense, and it's the first time I've been on a ride where I thought I might actually throw up. Besides that, it's a lot of fun, but I much prefer B:TR in it's normal state.

I asked John Fitzgerald a few quick questions today.

1) He confirmed that he wants to incorporate baboons into the Safari Off-Road Adventure in the future, but provided no context or time frame.

2) I asked him if he wanted to give TPR a hint about the Lakefront. He was unwilling to comment, except with a joke that it would be a good place for condos. I guess I should have pushed back if this meant they were building a hotel again but I know the tonwship would never approve that idea on the lake. I suggested Interlocking S&S Free Spin coasters as homage to Lighting Loops. He was not amused.

I went to the park last summer, and Safari had 3 hour waits. It also closed at like 4pm vs 10pm for the park.

Is this still the case? If so, when is the best time to ride it?

It still closes early, yes. I don't think wait times approach three hours much anymore, but it is still very busy throughout the day. If visiting the Safari is one of your main goals, try to make it your first attraction early in the morning.

And the animals tend to be more active in the AM also

Looking at potentially visiting Saturday night for my first visit of the season. I noticed the 7-11 ert on the website. Anyone know what coasters may be running for the event? Also thinking of bringing someone with me.. Anyone done this event before? How long can I expect to wait, considering it is less than three hours?

Going to bump this. If anyone has any information that would be great.

Has the park been consistently not that busy on weekdays in July? Like, for instance, if I wanted to go Tuesday or Wednesday next week, what should I expect?

I was there yesterday and the place was a ghost town. I'd wager it'd be the same next Tuesday as well.

The park provided no additional info in today's e-mail blast to Pass Holders

Sky Screamer, Skull Mountain, and Nitro are the scheduled attractions.

Approach with caution. One of the morning ERT sessions earlier this year wound up to be on the Tea Cups, Carousel, and Houdini lol

Will do.

Is there a generally accepted route to maximizing the day on a Saturday?

I want to hit Safari, Toro, Batman, Kingda for sure, maybe Zumanjaro. Other coasters nice of course, but elss important.

Hello, y'all! I'm planning on going to SF: MM for the September meet. I know it's not on topic; but anyhow. I'll be going to this park on July 16th. The last time I went to this park was during early 90's (90-92). I know a lot has changed. I was planning on going with my cousins for one day. We plan to be there before opening, and I was planning on purchasing a Flash Pass for all of us. I was wondering what's the best way to hit the park? If someone could give me some guidance, that would be wonderful.

Pic unrelated.

Boldikus wasn't kidding, though. Flash pass is really the only way to tackle everything the park has, especially on a Saturday. Great Adventure, like most parks, gets the biggest crowds on Saturdays, and tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful down in Jackson. If you really can't swing one, prepare for a very long day of waiting.

Yes, and its called Flash Pass lol

Not all of us are millionaires

It's simple budgeting, dude. Not rocket science. I'll bet dollars to donuts that none of us are millionaires.

If you really would prefer waiting an hour for everything on probably your only visit to the park this season, be my guest.

Without Flash Pass, you'll probably be able to get done what you'd want to get done ("Safari, Toro, Batman, Kingda for sure, maybe Zumanjaro", but be prepared for that to be ALL you'll get done.
