boldikus
I'm heading to the park June 25th which I know will be busy! You never know. Could be like last Saturday where it was supposed to thunderstorm, which never happened, which made for a sunny but empty park all day (and hellstorm of insanity on Sunday). phillies2
Today was a good day at the park, I didn't get there until around 11:30 and waited an hr when i was right next to the 90 minutes sign. I got the green side, but don't know what to think of it. The shoulder restraints came done hard on my shoulders and overtime we flipped I got nailed in the privates from the harness. then in this order 2x Nitro both front row, first time prob 30 mins cause someone threw up on one of the trains. 2nd time not even 10 mins Went to ride Skull Mountain , but it was closed 1 time batman 15 mins 3rd row # of times I got to stay on 7x El toro 2x toro 3x toro 2x toro I have to say EL Toro Ryan and his crew were the Dream team for Toro. It was a walk on, but they were pumping ppl through. I heard him say," Now we just have to wait for the other train to get to the brake run." Most of the time the train in the station left before that final waiting break run. You guys were killing it. Went over to check out Ka but it went down so I went and rode Zum. Its okay with no wait. Ka got running, but the queue was full so back to el toro. 2x toro 2x toro Of course a asian women threw up all over the kia train so we had to get off and wait for the better brown train anyway. It sucks because the Toro crew was going for there dispatch record of so many trains and that women screwed it up. what are the chances of being on the next ride when someone on the ride throws up twice in 1 day? Went back to Joker for a 15 min wait (purple side)- only flipped once but still was getting hit in the privates. Overall it was a nice day and it wasn't to crowded. I was there from 11:30 to 4:45 and got a lot of good rides in. Total el toro rides 18 ola
Jcoaster
For those we didn't know Snapchat has a Jackson filter now.I had my best visit in a long time at Great Adventure tonight. On arrival at 5pm we headed straight to Joker. There was about a 7-10 min wait for it. At this exact moment I knew it was going to be a good night, the park ended up being dead. Joker is a really great addition. It was my first 4-D and I must say its a really fun ride. Me and my friends did nothing but laugh the entire ride. Next we headed over to Nitro. It was a station wait and we hopped in front within 5 minutes. We then followed Nitro with some Batman which was running like a dream as usual. My friends and I then trecked across the park to ride Kingda Ka, which rattled the hell out of me and Toro. (We wanted to ride Zumi somewhere in-between but my friend chickened out. We finished the night with Bizzaro, Mine Train, Joker again and Nitro once more. Below are a few pics I took. Edit: We also ran into El Toro Ryan tonight. He placed a cup filled with water on Toro's first car and said he'd send it around with us for an experiment but it was really someone elses drinking water. thrillseeker4552
Nice little report. How is Nitro running these days? I hear everything from "it's rattly and forceless" to "just as good as El Toro." I really enjoyed Diamondback at KI, if that's anything to compare it to.
Jcoaster
I've never ridden Diamondback, but Nitro still has some kick to it. It had great floater air today.
Password121
Nice pictures. I really miss El Toro--haven't been able to and won't get to ride my baby this year. It's the one thing that is just so special about Great Adventure. I know it gets more than its share of attention but even after visiting Cedar Point and marathoning I-305 I've yet to find anything that tops it. strz
I got nailed in the privates from the harness. Go figure huh? You aren't alone! Thank you Joker for a kick in the balls......
Genx24
Visited with JCoaster last night and just wanted to share a few thoughts on Joker. This ride is bat-s#!t insane, totally worthy of its namesake. The ride must have some Joker venom in it, because when I got off I was howling and cackling like a loon. Rode both sides once, one time facing out and once facing in and got two totally different experiences. I think it's a much better ride than Green Lantern at Magic Mountain, which is the only similar ride I had in my credits to compare Joker too. Great addition. Like JCoaster said in his post, it was a great night at the park. Walk-on's and station waits galore. Finally got on Ka for the first time and it will probably be my last time in quite a while. Sat in row 3 and my head was getting jackhammered on the launch. New trains, please? Not gonna hold my breath. Also got to meet El Toro Ryan. Really nice guy and he and his crew were cranking trains out of the station. As most know, El Toro can be very hit or miss in the ops department, so it was great to see one of our own on the ball, hustling with dispatches. my friend chickened out. "My back." coasterbill
No need to write off Kingda Ka, just ride in row one. It's incredibly smooth up there and it always has been. Plus sitting in the front of that thing is bat sh*t insane. And unlike Mean Streak there are no special tricks. Just sit in row 1... and when they say "arms down" that's when I would suggest putting your arms up. That suggestion is for losers. I love, love, love Kingda Ka. I used to think it was mediocre and then I discovered row one.
DILinator
^The only two times I've ridden Kingda Ka, were in the front seat, and I enjoyed the ride immensely! In fact, probably due to that fact, I hold the unpopular opinion that it's better than Top Thrill Dragster! The OTS didn't do anything to deter, or diminish the ride experience for me. coasterbill
I feel the same way. It feels much more intense than Dragster. I don't know why... I wouldn't think the extra 8 mph would matter but it really does. I love them both though.
DILinator
Yeah, my dad and I must have come to it right after it reopened from downtime, because we literally walked onto the ride, in the front seat. We were both blown away, and immediately said we preferred it to TTD, and went around and rode it there again, this time with only a one train wait for the front. I was very impressed, which makes all the hate I hear for it odd to me. I guess that's just because we never rode it anywhere but the front though... Oh, and I love the paint job WAY more than TTD, and in fact, it's one of my favorite on any coaster! So it has that going for it too...
Satans Hockey
Nice little report. How is Nitro running these days? I hear everything from "it's rattly and forceless" to "just as good as El Toro." I really enjoyed Diamondback at KI, if that's anything to compare it to. I've been on nitro quite a bit this season already but in my last visit I sat I think it was 4th row on the right end seat cause I just hopped into the first empty row I saw and the seat really rattled a lot. That's the only time ive noticed it this season and I normally just get in whatever row has the shortest or no line.

coasterbill
Nitro runs great but occasionally it has a crappy wheel that they refuse to fix for like 6 month so just figure out the row and the train and don't sit there again for a few months. It's ridiculous but it's common practice for the people that frequent the park. Lol

Jcoaster
I rode Kingda Ka in car 1 row 2 and it still beat the ever living hell out of me. I still love the ride cause the intensity, but I had a slight headache after.
coasterbill
What part of "Row one" didn't you understand Guiseppe? Am I the only one that loved that commercial? Lol
Jcoaster
I was making a comparison of how different row 1 is than the rest of the train. Even if its a row off from the front its painful. And btw I prefer "Justino"

coasterbill
Also, full disclosure. Arby's blows. It so blows. And people in this thread know how much it blows because in NJ they have Roy Rogers... which is like what Arby's wants to be but can't because of how much they blow. Places without Roy Rogers don't know how much of a crappy, cheap imitation Arby's is but we do. I take pride in that. lol They have great commercials though. Also, sorry for how incredibly off topic I just steered this thread. I'll try to right the ship. um... Green Lantern sucks. Discuss...

I was driving home from Kings Dominion and about caused an accident to pull into a Roy Rogers I was passing! Delaware doesn't have them anymore, nasty Boston Market took over them all years ago. BUT I do love Arby's and Arby's sauce I could rub all over......WAIT nevermind
coasterbill
about caused an accident to pull into a Roy Rogers I was passing! This is the appropriate response to seeing a Roy Rogers. Was it the one in Maryland? A few years ago we went there and they told us that the ones in New Jersey were the only ones that had curly fries so we never went back there. lol

This makes me sad, because I actually love Arby's, so if it sucks compared to Roy Rogers, then I AM missing out! (I still love Rax the most, myself, but there aren't many left!) Oh, and yes, Green Lantern does rather suck...
