Does anyone know when they're going to park the looping ride in its temporary spot?

Why must everybody be so negative about this addition?

1) It's a park model, it's not temporary

2) This is a legitimate, park model flat ride of decent scale. Almost as tall as RT was.

3) How can you POSSIBLY expect a multi million dollar addition every single year? Do you want SF to file for bankruptcy again? They're finally doing well and are profitable. Give them a break.

Also, I'm tired of people giving them so much crap about ride openings. Yes, Zumanjaro was a nightmare. Yes, they should've started earlier and gotten permits. No, the July 4th opening wasn't entreatingly SF's fault. Six Flags has stated that they try to open new rides around Memorial Day for marketing reasons. Can you try to respect their decision? It'll be built after footers (yes, real footers) are poured sometime in the next month or two. Now chill and enjoy their world class coaster collection that put the company in miserable debt that resulted in major restructuring. It's all for you.

Jeesh, I just asked a question! Sorry, but I thought it was like the ride we have at the state fair. It looks the same and I know the one at the fair comes in on a flat bed truck.

I don't care if SFGADV gets a new coaster every year. In fact I only go to the park every 5 years or so. I do think that there are plenty of good flats out there that would fit the park quite well. Heck, maybe SF bought these on clearance and got a helluva deal.

You should research before you post things that make you sound like an idiot after u post them.

Girls, girls, you're both pretty.

Faith, no, this is a permanent ride model getting installed for long-term use. The days of SFGAdv putting in flatbed versions of flat rides are long in the past.

^What makes you think this? This is a legitimate, full scale flat ride. Everybody complains the park is desperate for thrilling/inverting flat rides. We get two in a row, and all this thread is is complaining. If you don't want to ride it, don't. Have you ever realized this park doesn't revolve around enthusiasts? It's a business that needs to attract a target audience to survive, and in this case, it's families.

No, you knew full well that it's a permanent ride, but just wanted to take another pot shot at an addition that you don't like. And if you only visit GAdv once every five years, why are you so concerned if El Diablo is "temporary" or not?

Stop being a jackass! You know damn well it is a permanent installation because after you each of these disparaging posts you were corrected.

Any updates on Looping Dragon? Im guessing they may wait till a week or two before the park opens to install it.

In other news, Looping Dragon construction started and finished today. It's ready for testing.

Hey also since they decided to give a freaking carnival flat, if the ride ever needs to change location they can just fold it up and move it.

Maybe they just leave it on the flat bed so they can just hook the truck up to it and pull it wherever it needs to go.

Anyone know when the flat bed truck is gonna arrive with the new coaster?

Can we at least open for the season before we start our speculation on 2016... Our new roller coaster for this year isn't even built yet

Don't worry. Your new "roller coaster" will pull in any day now. Will they leave it on the flat bed and put some skirting around it or will they permanetely brace it to the ground? You'd think they would leave it on the trailer in case they want to move it.

Fronted City just announced they TOO are getting a Larsons SuperLoop... Am I missing something? Why are these flying off the shelves this year?!?!

Because they take one day to install and you can call is a roller coaster. In addition, you can simply back a truck up to the trailer it sits on, hook it up, and move it wherever you want.

I am all for this ride, but if they are considering this a Coaster.....wouldn't that count as the new coaster that we have wanted since El Toro? Which would mean we wouldn't need another new coaster next year.

^ It was thrown into chaos by a troll that sadly, even I fed.

No. The park knows this isn't the addition most people wanted, and hinted next year's addition will be larger. Whether that's a coaster or not remains to be seen. I think not, but I hope I'm wrong.

Oh god... what have you people done to our beloved Great Adventure thread?

You know my issue with Great Adventure isn't that they don't build giant coasters and multi million dollar rides every year. I know and everyone else in this forum knows that isn't feasible. Let's take a look at the Cedar fair company. They still build large coasters at even their smaller parks like carowinds but on years they don't build the biggest baddest things they do subtle things like put in flying scooters AND repave a midway and paint things that should be done. Is El DIABLO the greatest flat ever no. Will they call this a coaster and will it have long lines and will they put flash pass on it when they shouldn't yes. I can get past all of that if during this they did other subtle things like repair the broken concrete in the park and paint buildings or open up the damn path between golden Kingdom and Plaza del carnival so people can actually get to their two newest rides easily. This is not me complaining at all. I LOVE great adventure which is why I get frustrated with them a lot. It's like being a parent. I'm not mad I will still love it. I'm just disappointed at times.

The company is financially stable. They have restructured their debt and have posted a 5th straight year of record financial results. The problem is they are more worried about pleasing their shareholders than they are of rolling that money back into the parks to do minor things like paint.

There also worried about making sure every park gets a new attraction every year.

I fully understand not adding a 20 million dollar coaster every season however, painting as well as general maintenance should ALWAYS be in the cards. There's no excuse for not keeping infrastructure maintained.
