kingsdominionlvr
^^Tell that to CGA and Michigan Adventure or whatever it's called I believe CGA is up for sale (CF has only owned them for three years anyway) and Michigan's Adventure just got a coaster last year. Vffreak07
2 years ago bud, same year you guys got Dominator. Also that puts them in line to get a coaster too, but since CF is in love with adding things to their new parks & CP, they're sticking with that. HCLcoasters
CGA is on the chopping block and Michigan's adventure isn't very profitable compared to parks like KD (which has an enormous profit) CP, KI, CW, and etc... That's the reason why they aren't putting much money into MA. They wouldn't get as big of a return on their investment.
dcxs
This is pretty interesting to me http://rcdb.com/m/r.htm?ot=2&mo=8374 Intamin haven't built a Giga / Mega coaster in 6 years. And they manage to build 3 of em all in 2000.

If you are correct about Michigan Adventure's coaster (being up the same time as Dominator), then that would put it debuting in 2008 as well. After all, Geauga Lake closed in 2007, so there is no way Thunderhawk could have been built at MI the same year it was operating at Geauga Lake. Back on topic, seeing all the similarities between all of the 2010 Cedar Fair Coasters, I would say they are going to be completely different. Why? Because of what Cedar Point has been doing on twitter and facebook, throwing coaster enthusiasts off their trail. My guess is that they would not try to even use remotely the same theme on coasters 5-6 hours away from each other (Carowinds and KD), and we know Cedar Point is going to get something unique (have they ever not)! coastermoosh
Michgan's Adventure not profitable? Did the person who told you that try to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge too? lol
CP_RULES
CF is in love with adding things to their new parks & CP, they're sticking with that. Let's see... KBF got a new coaster the past two years in a row, Sierra Sidewinder in 2007, and Pony Express in 2008; Worlds of Fun just got Prowler in 2009; and Valleyfair! got Renegade in 2007. I think CF is doing a fairly decent job of spreading out their investments. Michgan's Adventure not profitable? Did the person who told you that try to sell you the Brooklyn Bridge too? lol You need to keep reading what HCLcoasters said, he said MiA isn't very profitable compared to parks like KD, not that it isn't profitable at all. HCLcoasters
Yes... They would have sold it long ago if they couldn't make a profit off it. I was simply stating that they won't invest as much money because they won't receive make as much for that investment as they would at KD. It's simple bussiness. lankanboy101
What if the name of the new coaster at Kings Dominion and Carowinds have the same name and theming. Both coaster have been associated with cars and the they both have red track.
GriffonFan09
That's what i'm thinking considering the track, car invites, and stuff. And the car theme will have NASCAR in it i heard.

I highly doubt two coasters 5-6 hours away from each other, both being built in the same year, will be themed and named exactly the same. Does that mean they both won't have racing themes, no, but it does mean they will both be unique.
Homeboy23
^ Do I need to remind you of Hurler. Even if they do have the same theme, atleast they are going to be different rides.
kingsdominionlvr
^ The Hurler's have the exact same layout. This Giga Coaster and Hyper Coaster almost definitely will have different layouts.
fisher1095
I really couldn't care less about the theming. The bigger question is... Which will be the better ride?
GriffonFan09
Now theres the real question. I'm guessing they'll both be great knowing B&M's hypercoasters and MF from Intamin, but my guess is the giga due to the height and speed compared to a hypercoaster. More people are going to go for the bigger thrill, but who knows. I sure don't!
fisher1095
It could go either way definitely. Might I remind you though, Behemoth ranked higher than MF in last year's poll....
GriffonFan09
That's a good point. But being that KD is a leader in park attendence I think with this new 300ft. giga they are going to have a lot of people come out and rank this higher? Who knows it'll all be over by next Thursday
fisher1095
Canada's Wonderland has higher attendance numbers than KD.

kingsdominionlvr
Canada's Wonderland has higher attendance numbers than KD. That is obviously because they added Behemoth, they have higher attendance than Cedar Point as well. As for the coaster, I would have to say a giga coaster would be more thrilling then a B&M hyper due to height and speed just as long it features more airtime hills then over banked turns.
