Homeboy23 Posted June 10, 2009 Posted June 10, 2009 I think its hilarious that it was delivered to the wrong park.
KDCOASTERFAN Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Maybe those supports were meant to go to Carowinds or something... Â That's a real possibility seeing as they're the only other CF park on the east coast of the continental US so don't be suprised if these supports show up over the next day or two in carowind's parking lot.
coolhandluke Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 That's a real possibility seeing as they're the only other CF park on the east coast of the continental US so don't be suprised if these supports show up over the next day or two in carowind's parking lot. Dorney is actually closer to both the coast and to KD. Â Interesting move of the supports. I'm not really sure what to think yet.
linearinduction Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I highly doubt Support Columns could be delivered to the wrong park. Someone at KD, with authorization, would have had to sign the Delivery Manifest which would have listed the Customer and Supplier, origin of the shipment, the contents, weight, and where it was to be delivered. It's highly doubtful someone from KD would have signed a Delivery Manifest for Carowinds, unless someone made a big mistake with paperwork. Â - Sid
fisher1095 Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 ^And if they did do that, I have no doubt they lost their job...
linearinduction Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 ^And if they did do that, I have no doubt they lost their job... Not to mention why would a park unload Containers they were not expecting. Usually there is also someone on site from the Manufacturer at the park beginning when Parts begin to arrive/footers are poured through opening of the ride. So it all seems more and more less probable these support columns were destined for another park. - Sid
nitrofan Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 ^Maybe they don't have much space at Carowinds and they sent them to King's Dominion for temporary storage.
themeparkman25 Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 ^Even if they were delivered to the wrong park, which I highly doubt is the case, why on earth would there be a big clearing in the back of the park if it was all a mistake?
nitrofan Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Where did this whole delivered to the wrong park thing start?
Dietcokevan Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Maybe they were on their way to Carowinds, but wanted to take a stop at KD and ride some rides?
Homeboy23 Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 I just got back from KD, it looks like some supports are still sitting in the parking lot. Â The area that is being cleared is bigger then what I thought when I saw the pictures. It will be either a big coaster or a small coaster along with a new area to the park.
GCS Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 There is RED track in the parking lot at KD right now. Â Clint from KDFansite is there now. Â Not sure if it really belongs to KD or not Not sure of the manufacturer either but there are 4 pieces of track there now. Â Clint will post pics later today when he gets back home.
atem122 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 AHHH! Do we have to be teased with this? Ah well, it's just another reason to look forward to getting home after school
netdvn Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Somebody needs to go down there and post pics... Â BTW: I read on KD Fansite that they're possibly tearing out the concrete waterpark and bringing back Lake Charles. Â http://www.kdfansite.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=545 Â This is very exciting... Â Now they should bring back Rebel Yell's old entrance...
GCS Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Clint is there taking pics and will post them once he gets home later today. Probably not until late today.
GCS Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Update. Â There is a total of 6 pieces of Red Track in the parking lot. There are a few of the yellow supports still there from last week. Â Clint has no idea what kind of track this is but he said it looks a little like Vekoma Flying track. He really has no idea though. Â Pics later today.
GCS Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 According to Clint it appears there is equipment on site to start footer work.
coastermoosh Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Unless my sources are way off base I'm guessing it isn't Vekoma track (nor B&M).
GCS Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Clint said it looks nothing like B&M track, which makes sense as that red beemer track in Ohio would appear to be going to Carowinds. Â Perhaps this is a Mack or Mauer Sohn coaster?
vacoaster Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 UPDATE: Track pics have been posted by Clint at KDfansite... its premier track the same double spine track thats used to build the worlds faster coaster at Ferrari Theme park in UAE. Â Its the same style track as shown here
Vffreak07 Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Don't get too excited, this all could be going to Carowinds too
vacoaster Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 I dont think so ... the supports althought some are square on the f1 coaster in UAE doesnt seem to match the scale of those that are in the parking lot... I think the supports were meant to be dropped off elsewhere
coastermoosh Posted June 12, 2009 Posted June 12, 2009 Dropped off at the wrong park? Seriously? Do some of you honestly believe that? Â The track and supports are for KD. Nothing is being moved to Carowinds. No mistakes have been made.
