Meteornotes
^Don't worry, Dave, once the offseason comes around we'll probably attempt a BACT Attack in your area and we'll confiscate you and Mary and introduce you guys to some other beers that you'll surely love. That would be awesome! dt

DerekRx
So is shaving your head part of your plan to lose 50lbs? Anything you gotta do to stay drinking beer with us, I say try it! Tonight I continue making some room for Pumpkin Ales and Oktoberfests by finishing the last of the Old Dominion stuff from Spring. Almost up there with Prima Pils in terms of good hoppy taste for a pilsner Tuppers Hop Pocket Pils
mcjaco
My wife just called from Kansas City to let me know she was enjoying a New Belgium Sunshine Wheat, followed by a Blue Paddle......the nerve.

N'at Man
It's a great time of year as it's still coaster season, football season is starting up and it's time to drink Oktoberfest beers. I need to get ready for Munich after all. I'm giving Spaten Oktoberfest a try. It's very good, probably better than Hofbrau but not quite as good as Sam Adams Oktoberfest. Good old Sam is always a safe bet. As far as Spaten goes my favorite would still be the Optimator. Spaten Oktoberfest

FlyerACE1
I'm starting to worry about Derek and Heath. This might be the longest they've gone since posting on this thread! What happened guys? Any way, I myself am back from the dead and figured I'd start with this one from a business trip to St.Louis- dedicated to our very own mcjaco! Before that, at Bahama Breeze for dinner, I tried an usual A-B offering called Aruba Red. The waitress ecstatically plugged it because it was "very good, just like Killian's!". Wowweee!! I'm sold. Wasn't great but was good for an A-B product. But here's what really kicked ass... Simply incredible! Now I know what the fuss is about. Easily a Top 10 brew. Great flavors such as hazelnut, caramel and mocha in this one. Damn, what a complex brew! My co-worker and I stopped at a Max & Erma's for lunch before flying home. Much to my surprise, they had New Belgium Flat Tire on tap!!
FlyerACE1
This next one was the last of the four I recently got from Heath. So far, 3 of 3. How would this measure up? See, all smiles and my fiance, just because she hasn't been on here for a while. HOLY HOPS!!! This sucker is BITTER!! Sweet! Easily the hoppiest amber I ever had. And yes, I loved it. This is my hop face, not a bad thing. Great color! Lake Placid Frostbite Ale. Didn't really know what to expect other than it's an amber and I like ambers. saturday97
Not beer, but awesome margaritas from a place in San Diego due to close this week, unfortunately. I am partial to blue margaritas! The second one I ordered had a plastic mermaid swimming in it, and I thought, ya know, I'd sure like to be swimming in a giant margarita right now!! "Kick Ass" Margaritas, so good! mcjaco
Is it sad that I pick hotels by if the bar has Fat Tire on tap when I head west???? I've taken a bunch of photos over the week, just haven't had time to resize and post.
Rugged One
I'm starting to worry about Derek and Heath. This might be the longest they've gone since posting on this thread! What happened guys? I've been fighting a stomach bug all week, so tonights was the first beer I had since Sunday. Don't worry, there will be plenty of pics of Derek and I drinking beer to go around after this weekend. By the way, I still want to see the pics from last Saturday's blowout! So in preparation of our San Diego invasion, I decided to bust out the latest from Stone. The 10 Anniversary IPA. Make that double IPA. And it's a good one. Great example of the West Coast style. The aroma on this sucker rocks. Citrus and pine and hops, all rolled into the one. The taste is where it's at though. Huge hop bite up front but then melds nicely into a sweet malt kick at the end. Unbelievable! At 10%, I tasted a little more alcohol than I normally care for but that slowly dissipated as it warmed up. I gotta say, this may be the best yet from Stone. And that's saying a lot! The Stone 10th Anniversary IPA. These guys know how to celebrate with style!
DerekRx
Sorry, I was too busy being entertained to post yesterday, but here's what went down! Ready for 3 hours of entertainment! It was like Napoleon Dynamite, but this was actually funny! Pumpkinhead, while waiting for last night's chat to start!
Meteornotes
"Like Napolean Dynamite, but funny". Yeah, that pretty much sums it up! I should have downed some Stella's while watching. Whoever posted the margarita pics, you rock. I love a good margarita. The best I've had here in Baltimore is at Cafe Hun, a funky little place downtown. Nice and strong... dt
mcjaco
Well with Wally's not so great news, I broke out a bottle of Lagunitas. I salute you, Phish man! Bottoms up.
DerekRx
By the way, I still want to see the pics from last Saturday's blowout! I posted the Adam's Bachelor Party weekend pictures in the Random forum since it was more beer than coasters. Direct link to BACThelor Party Soon I'm off to San Diego, of course with a hopeful stop at Independence for some HopDevil on the way!
saturday97
Meteornotes...me too! I always splurge for the high end tequila if it is avialable. These are definitely the best I've ever had. You can imagine margaritas in Utah...a sad, watery mess... Those of you heading off to San Diego...I just spent a week and a half there, sadly missed the Stone Brewing Company but made it to The Field (Irish pub downtown) and the Coronado Brewing Company. If you liked Pizza Port, you might want to give Coronado Brewing a try.
DerekRx
Thanks for the info, its already on the plan for Sunday! Too bad you didn't take pictures ahead of time for us. and so it begins.... maybe this won't be the last time I see my local baby this weekend (Nicole is my non-local baby) you know where I am by now on a jetset Friday, you know what I'm drinking too! saturday97
Well Derek, I actually DID take some pictures with my phone, but they came out really blurry and fuzzy because, uh, I was drunk. Anyhow, have some Mermaid Red for me!
mr_teisco_delrey
Here are my Labor Day selections. Happy Labor Day!!!! This was an odd selection. The Sybil Dorset of Ales. Is it Ale or is it bourbon? You decide. Good ale, but the bourbon aftertaste was a bit odd. I was hoping for summer weather to enjoy this in. 60 degrees was kinda of a surprise. Great beer though! mcjaco
These are from a last week....it's been a busy week. A little Sam Adams Hefewizen and a bottle of Anchor Steam. Dear God, why can't I hold the camera steady on personal pics????? Ahhh, I'm blurry again..... An old stand by, Anchor Steam. Me in all my fuzzy, shaky goodness. Part of the Brewmasters Mix pack....Yummy!
Rugged One
Last couple of beers (that didn't involve San Diego). They both happened to be from Avery. The 13th Anniversary Weizenbock. Again, really good. Tasted very sweet and malty. Lots of caramel notes. A little heavy on the alcohol as it warmed up but not too bad. The Maharaja Imperial IPA. This was a good one but just wasn't quite up there with some of the Double IPAs that I really enjoy.
DerekRx
Tonight's beer was fruity, VERY fruity! A nice beer to have for breakfast or after waking up from a nap Sea Dog's Wild Blueberry Wheat, really flavorful with blueberries
