ytterbiumanalyst
Have you had any of the wines from the Western NY region? I am no wine aficionado by any means, but a lot of people seem to really like the wines around here as well as from the Finger Lakes region. Don't think I have. We don't get a lot of beer from that region around here either. We do have one specialty wine shop in town that carries a lot of things no one else has, so I may have to see if they have one. Philrad71
Woo-Hoo - Part 2 has been released! This is much milder than the first release 'All Is Well At The Station'. Great hop balance and not as strong as other unfiltered double IPA's that I have tasted. There is a story behind the six part series of releases...this one is called 'A Wrinkle In The Fabric" I like it!
ytterbiumanalyst
Love the name and the can art. Very cool. It's the weekend and I'm enjoying a Mother's Backyard Lime Gose. The Backyard is a vacant lot next to the brewery that they bought and put up canopies and games like horseshoes and beanbags. They have a stage too, and live music on Saturdays with good weather throughout the summer. Limey and gosey, and certified backyard worthy. Philrad71
^ Andrew - I have to ask...have you tried a MILF yet? I am going to have to see if we can check this brewery out when we're down there. Let me know if you're around and maybe we can meet up for a pint!
ytterbiumanalyst
I have not tried a MILF, or a beer by that name either. Mother's have a million varieties, and I've had most but not all of them. And yeah, totally PM me when it gets to be about your vacation time. My schedule is decently flexible, since I work in the tech/travel sector. Philrad71
^ Yeah, not sure if I could try a MILF either...LOL! I will certainly give you a shout when we get closer to vacation time!
ytterbiumanalyst
Sounds great. Tonight I'm trying out more of my recent discovery Bur Oak Brewing Co., and it's the Big Tree Double IPA. It's less bitter than a lot of doubles while still being good and strong. I like it.
ytterbiumanalyst
Boulevard's Irish Ale, and a proper red, not green. Happy St. Patrick's, everyone!
boldikus
I haven't drank beer in over a month! And the 2 I had in February were the only beers I've had since December! I did have a little wine last night.
ytterbiumanalyst
Congratulations! I know you're working on that as a health/weight loss thing, so keep it up!

ytterbiumanalyst
Excellent. Great Adventure opens this weekend then? The one in St. Louis opens this Saturday.
boldikus
Excellent. Great Adventure opens this weekend then? The one in St. Louis opens this Saturday. My prediction is Great Adventure will not open on Saturday because we're about to get a half foot of snow tomorrow and park mgmt are a bunch of pussies. HOWEVER, BGW and Kings Dominion also open this weekend.
ytterbiumanalyst
Oh wow, that's crazy. Half a foot? I wouldn't want to be outside in that at all. Wouldn't blame them if they did close the park. (Oh and in MO it's 74 and sunny on Saturday) Have fun in VA though!

ytterbiumanalyst
Enjoying a STLIPA from Urban Chestnut out of St. Louis. I've had this before and enjoy it a lot, don't think I've posted about it before though.
viking86
Bøyla Blonde Ale from Ægir Brewery in Norway. Decent beer, and Ægir still has my favorite can design.
ytterbiumanalyst
Ballast Point IPA. A bit lighter than most IPAs, really like it. Ballast Point makes good stuff, just usually expensive around here. This went on sale, $9 for 6.
viking86
"Dankins" New England Style IPA (6,8% ABV) from Cervisiam Brewery (Oslo, Norway). A very nice refreshing and easily drinkable IPA, one of the better new beers I've had in a while.
viking86
Spring has suddenly arrived on the Norwegian west coast, and this is the second day in a row where the weather/temperature has allowed for a beer on the terrace after work. Today I have enjoyed a Silver Lining White Belgian IPA from Norwegian brewery Nøgne Ø. This one was perfect for sitting in the sun!

ytterbiumanalyst
Those are actually from Aldi, as is the Austrian beer mustard. They're based in Germany, so they have the best German food of any grocery chain. $5 for six frozen pretzels, bake in 5 minutes.
Nrthwnd
^ Awesome. After all the very extreeeeemley thin and hugely uuuugly-sized ones I have seen in parks (IMhO), but never EVER wanted to eat, these ones looked great! Now, back to our regularly scheduled What-Beer-Did-You-Just-Drink? thread.....
