viking86 Posted February 17, 2017 Posted February 17, 2017 Lucky Jack Black Edition 4,7% from Lervig Aktiebryggeri. Quite good stuff!
boldikus Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 This Coney Island is incredible. Tastes like kinda-diet 7Up.
cfc Posted February 19, 2017 Posted February 19, 2017 I enjoyed a nice bottle of Alewerks Bitter Valentine. My favorite Alewerks beer.
viking86 Posted February 23, 2017 Posted February 23, 2017 I went American yesterday with this Sculpin IPA 7,0% from Ballast Point Brewing Company.
cfc Posted February 24, 2017 Posted February 24, 2017 A bottle of O'Connor (Norfolk, Va.) Great Dismal Black IPA while posting my InvadR report.
cfc Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Weyerbacher Blithering Idiot Barleywine Ale Good stuff, but I prefer O'Connor's Brigantine Barleywine.
Nrthwnd Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 ^ Chuck, I really am curious, as to what your current all time favorite bottled beer is, nowadays? I mean, you (and others) post so many different beers, I actually wonder if there is one above all, you (or any of you, actually) go back to? For now? Just curious of me, thanks.
viking86 Posted February 25, 2017 Posted February 25, 2017 Going back to local beer tonight with this IPA 6,5% from Lysefjorden Microbrewery. A good beer, but I wish the taste was a litte bit stronger.
cfc Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 ^ Chuck, I really am curious, as to what your current all time favorite bottled beer is, nowadays?I mean, you (and others) post so many different beers, I actually wonder if there is one above all, you (or any of you, actually) go back to? For now? Just curious of me, thanks. I always go back to Sierra Nevada Pale Ale or Arrogant Bastard Ale. Sierra Nevada Celebration, their Christmas brew, is also excellent.
Nrthwnd Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 ^ Thanks. Now....how often do you actually drink them?

I'm very happy that we get Sierra Nevada Pale Ale here in Norway, it's a very good beer which I also buy quite often. I also see that Arrogant Bastard Ale is available in the shops here, I will definitely give that one a try!
viking86 Posted March 1, 2017 Posted March 1, 2017 ... or Arrogant Bastard Ale. So I gave this one a try today. I don't think it's my favorite style of beer, but it definitely was pretty good.
cfc Posted March 3, 2017 Posted March 3, 2017 I tried out a Tall Tales Red Headed Stepchild last night. This is an OK Irish red ale that leans a bit toward the sweet side--just an average craft brew.
ytterbiumanalyst Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 ^ Boulevard! I also had a Missouri beer this weekend:
cfc Posted March 6, 2017 Posted March 6, 2017 Alewerks Tavern Ale (American Brown Ale) on tap at the Movie Tavern.
cfc Posted March 7, 2017 Posted March 7, 2017 Celebrator Doppelbock Good stuff! Not heavily carbonated, with a nice malty taste.
Nrthwnd Posted March 8, 2017 Posted March 8, 2017 ...and a little freebie attached! (I prefer free shot glasses or an airplane-size bottle of something.)
cfc Posted March 10, 2017 Posted March 10, 2017 Hitachino Nest Commemorative Ale This Japanese import is a very pleasant ale brewed with vanilla bean, coriander, and other spices. It tastes a lot like a Christmas seasonal brew, such as Marley's Lament by Alewerks.
viking86 Posted March 11, 2017 Posted March 11, 2017 Last night me and a friend sampled a bunch of different beers. We had some bland ones, we had a truly awful one from Estonia, but there were also some highlights. The clear winner of the evening was Hoptropolis Double IPA 9,0%, a collaboration beer from Amundsen Bryggeri/Against the Grain Brewery. This was a wonderful beer, rich in flavour and also very drinkable. I'm definitely buying this again!
ytterbiumanalyst Posted March 12, 2017 Posted March 12, 2017 Trying a new-to-me variety from one of my favourite breweries. I love IPAs, and while this one is honestly not the best I've ever had, it's not too bad.
ytterbiumanalyst Posted March 16, 2017 Posted March 16, 2017 I'm off tomorrow, so I'm starting Irish Christmas tonight with a Guinness Irish Wheat. Really interesting beer, kind of a shandy but with a bit of banana. I like it.
viking86 Posted March 17, 2017 Posted March 17, 2017 To Øl - Dangerously Close to Stupid - Imperial IPA 9,3%. Good combination of fruit and bitterness, and also very drinkable. I quite like this one!
