viking86 Posted September 13, 2016 Posted September 13, 2016 I've been raving a lot about the high quality of Norwegian Craft Beer, but the other day I had a bottle of Vikingr Pale Ale from Gulating and my god was this thing horrible! Absolutely disgusting stuff! After this picture was taken I had one more sip and I then poured it in the sink. It's been a very long time since I've not finished a beer, but this time there was just no way! Fortunately I had a can from Nøgne Ø to take the taste away...
ytterbiumanalyst Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 Duff beer at Moe's Tavern in Universal Studios Hollywood. Really good!
DILinator Posted September 14, 2016 Posted September 14, 2016 I picked up a four-pack of this unique and interesting brew the other day, and while I don't LOVE it, it's not bad. It's called "Cranium Crush, but is a Raspberry Waffle Cone Cream Ale, from a local (to the State) brewery up in Petoskey.
cfc Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest Pretty good, but not quite as good as last year's version.
viking86 Posted September 16, 2016 Posted September 16, 2016 "Lucky Jack" American Pale Ale by Lervig Brewery. A very fresh and highly drinkable beer, but I wish it had just a tad stronger taste as it feels just slightly watered down. Still a nice beer though on a warm evening.
Nrthwnd Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Stella Artois at the Knott's Berry Farm Hotel bar. Last Thursday night.
DoinItForTheFame Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Well, it's not "me" But partner (Hates apples) but loves fireball. So I thought I'd have him try angry balls (angry orchard and fireball) tonight. Yeah. He hates it. Also, I am not a big fan of it anymore. Gives me awful heartburn.
cfc Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Duff beer at Moe's Tavern in Universal Studios Hollywood. Really good! I know that the Florida Beer Company brews the Duff they serve at Universal Orlando (and it's pretty good). Who brews Hollywood's version?
ytterbiumanalyst Posted September 27, 2016 Posted September 27, 2016 Duff beer at Moe's Tavern in Universal Studios Hollywood. Really good! I know that the Florida Beer Company brews the Duff they serve at Universal Orlando (and it's pretty good). Who brews Hollywood's version? You know, I'm really not sure. I asked the bartender, and all she would say is that it's locally brewed exclusively for Universal Studios. So she either didn't know or wasn't allowed to say. All the official sources say it's local, proprietary, and exclusive, but nothing more specific. Kind of mysterious. If I had to guess, I'd say the most likely candidate is Ballast Point, as they're one of the larger microbreweries in SoCal, and have a large enough factory to supply the substantial volume USH would require. But that's just a guess; I really don't know.
viking86 Posted October 5, 2016 Posted October 5, 2016 Monday was the German national day, so I figured it was a good time to try the German Pale Ale from Nøgne Ø Brewery. A light beer, very refreshing, but I prefer beers with a bit stronger flavours. Good, but a bit bland...
DILinator Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 I had this "Premium Japanese Beer" earlier today for the first time, and although it wasn't anything earth shattering, it was light, flavorful, and ultimately a very session-able offering!
ytterbiumanalyst Posted October 6, 2016 Posted October 6, 2016 ^ Try it with sushi and it comes alive. It's a beer that has to be paired. Peroni is like that as well. It's merely okay on its own, but pair it with pasta with red sauce, and it's great.
cfc Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Founders Dirty Bastard Scotch Style Ale I'm rather fond of this stuff, and it has quite a kick (8.5 percent).
DILinator Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 ^Mmmm... That is definitely a local favorite around here! Have you had their limited edition Backwoods Bastard? It blows that (and most beers) out of the water! Definitely Top 3 beer I've ever had, if not the best!
viking86 Posted October 7, 2016 Posted October 7, 2016 Skoddehav - White India Pale Ale from Kinn Brewery. I haven't had a beer from this brewery in a while, but this was really good stuff!!
cfc Posted October 8, 2016 Posted October 8, 2016 ^Mmmm... That is definitely a local favorite around here! Have you had their limited edition Backwoods Bastard? It blows that (and most beers) out of the water! Definitely Top 3 beer I've ever had, if not the best! Nope--but I look forward to trying it.
cfc Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Lickinghole 'Til Sunset Session IPA at Busch Gardens last night. I rather liked it. It's not as bitter as your average IPA and quite smooth. Not my favorite, but a good draft beer.
viking86 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Tiger Triple from Nøgne Ø. Belgian style triple ale, 9% alc 40 IBU. This one was REALLY good when you want a beer that you want to spend a little time on.
ytterbiumanalyst Posted October 14, 2016 Posted October 14, 2016 No, you're certainly not! This is McIntyre Cider, from the St. James Winery in St. James, Missouri. They're famous round these parts for their fruit wines, especially their blackberry and cherry wines. So cider is a natural next step for them. Pretty good stuff.
viking86 Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Currently drinking a raspberry beer from Kinn Brewery. Quite good, but not my favorite style of beer. However I had a really good beer yesterday, Bæver Double White IPA from Ægir/Beavertown Brewery. This one I really liked!
boldikus Posted October 16, 2016 Posted October 16, 2016 Had quite a few last night, most notably: Made by Woodchuck, and surprisingly dank. Also this stuff tastes just like key lime pie. Yeah sounds disgusting, I know. It was incredibly delicious. Not my picture
