Philrad71 Posted November 1, 2014 Posted November 1, 2014 I didn't get a picture of it but I had a good pint of Southern Tier Pumking last night. It was pretty good, but the pizza and wings I had with it were outstanding. Glad to hear that Southern Tier is spreading out across the country - the brewery is about four miles from my house. Despite it's popularity, I rarely visit the bar as it is always very crowded now that they have expanded their market. I usually just pick up a couple 6 packs at Wegmans and bring them home to drink. While I am not a huge fan of Pumking, I do like most of their other beers. I had a ST 2X Rye last night as my last beer. The other beer in my fridge is a PMX - which is like a new version of Phin & Matt's. Hoppy, but without the bitterness of some of the other Pale Ale's out there. ^^Edit - Bud Light should never be considered beer! It is a water-washed creation that should only be drank if it is the last thing on earth. And in that case, I would probably just kill myself. Love the 2X Rye! (Photo courtesy of Southern Tier Brewery) PMX - not quite as hoppy as the 2X Rye. (Photo courtesy of Southern Tier Brewery)
805Andrew Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 If I was drinking a crappy beer like Bud Light or Miller Lite I probably wouldn't bother posting it here. Anyways back to what I was drinking... The last two beers I had were both Pumpkin beers. New Belgium Pumpkick from Fort Collins, CO on Halloween night Saranac Pumpkin Ale from Utica, NY last night
TPDave Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 Desperados with lime. Really good, very drinkable!!
XII Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Had a Stella on Thursday Night. Not that good, but I'm happy whenever I am offered free alcohol.
TPDave Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 ^ At least it was free, I paid for my last Stella! This might be blasphemy to the beer fans in here but I quite like Stella, it's probably my favourite mainstream lager.
805Andrew Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 Another Pumpkin beer for me. This time it's one from Canada - Montreal, Quebec to be exact. St. Ambroise Pumpkin Ale from McAuslin Brewery
Philrad71 Posted November 17, 2014 Posted November 17, 2014 The best part about winter here in Western NY - Old Man Winter is back!!! 3 types of hops, 2 kinds of malts. At 7% APV, it definitely warms the tummy on a cold winter's day...even though it is not technically winter yet!
805Andrew Posted November 23, 2014 Posted November 23, 2014 My next Pumpkin beer was brewed by the Mormons in Utah...or was it brewed by the SLC punks? Uinta Punk'n Harvest Pumpkin Ale
viking86 Posted November 28, 2014 Posted November 28, 2014 A colleague gave me two bottles of homemade beer yesterday. Heavy stuff, no bubbles. Definately not for drinking fast in large amounts.
cfc Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 Just finished one of these. A little sweet for my tastes, but a nice Christmas brew. It's 11% beer and kind of sneaks up on you.
eddie200330 Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 A Miller Lite hanging with the Guns N Roses tribute band dudes at Rocky Gap Casino!!! LMAO
805Andrew Posted December 15, 2014 Posted December 15, 2014 FMB 101 Kölsch Style Ale from Figueroa Mountain Brewing Co. in Buellton, CA.
matteocrepaldi Posted December 23, 2014 Posted December 23, 2014 Beernadette, beer made with 5% of Holy Water from Lourdes! Very good!!! Yes, water from Lourdes!
Nrthwnd Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 ^ Three things on the label, that do not fit together, in my head.... - the word "Belgium" - the US parks ranger hat (it does look like one) - the word "India" How did it taste, Chuck?
cfc Posted December 30, 2014 Posted December 30, 2014 ^It's pretty good--a bit on the bitter side (I like hoppy beers).
shivtim Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 A gingerbread porter and a cream ale at Boatyard Brewery in Kalamazoo.
Philrad71 Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 ^^ I will have to keep my eye out for that one...I LOVE Fat Tire & I also love IPA's!
MisterP Posted December 31, 2014 Posted December 31, 2014 A very delicious IPA is the one sold by Lagunitas (out of NorCal). They also have a very tasty brown ale called Lagunitas Sucks. Across the board, they are one of my favorite micros...
805Andrew Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 If you want to try a beer that is strong without a hoppy taste, but with a metallic taste that tastes like someone dropped coins in your beer, then try this one: One time deal for me.
SuperShawn Posted January 10, 2015 Posted January 10, 2015 Came across the last case of Shipyard - Pumpkinhead at Giant a few weeks ago. Still one of my favorite Pumpkin Beers to enjoy.
