Jds03 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Post a picture or tell a story about your most geeky coaster enthusiast moment. I was looking through some old park stuff I have and I found something that HAD to be posted here. It’s written in red crayon on a restaurant kid’s activity book. …I was 15 It might be hard to top this...
atem122 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 ^LOL that is beautiful I sometimes involuntarily scream "Take the tunnel!!!" on Terminator.
cal1br3tto Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Awkwardly switching places with someone in order to get the back seat on Zillerator (didn't have to be awkward, but it was because of how I communicated it). Trying to count people so I could get the back car on Ice Mountain Bobsled, and leaving the station (no one behind me) whenever I wouldn't get it. Riding a powered coaster (that I don't count as a credit) at a carnival because "it's the closest thing to a coaster here...I might be sad if I don't". Lost $2 in unspent tickets that way; would've used them all if I'd ridden one more high thrill ride instead. Riding a Boomerang twice in a row with hot 30-minute waits each time, just to ensure someone else got the credit.
Godwyn Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Cheering when we got a kiddie coaster to rollback. It was tough, but when you get enough TPR members (that are heading to Vegas) together, you can accomplish anything.
odene497 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 They put new paint on Superman's supports last year.... I guess for Bizarro prep. It also dripped onto the pine trees around the supports... We took little tree pieces home. Yum.
Not For Sale Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I love the potential for this thread. I'm better than all of you, so I don't have anything to add.
TheAppleKid99 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Randomly screaming LOOKOUT!!!!!!!!!!!! Before the corkscrews on the corkscrew coaster at rainbows end. Everyone is like WTF!?!?!?!? as they look at me oddly. But you know what, who gives a
BelizeIt Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Well my cousin got me into Pin Trading at Disneyland, and now it's become a full born addiction. (It's a fun Treasure Hunt everytime I visit the park) I remember a while back that Elissa posted her opinion on 'Pin Traders'.
downunder Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Riding the little kiddie coaster at Zuma's in Knoxville Tn. I don't think the lift hill even went up to my waist. After that, I did a session in the nearby batting cage to regain my normal testosterone level. It was a sad afternoon and evening topped off by dinner at Carabba's with those strange strange fellows from the Bryan Adams show. I got plastered and had a monster hangover the next morning. Here is a photo of the regrettable incident at Zumas featuring one of the ring leaders associated with this abomination: I think we're going to need a bigger motor for the lift hill.
downunder Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 ^It gets so weird after that. Cool you live in Monroeville, I've seen that film about your mall more than a few times.
Kennyweird Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 ^Dawn of the Dead. I've actually never seen that, lol. Someday I'll do a Photo TR of the annual zombie-walk the mall holds every year.
monsterfan99 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Using the Flash Pass for front row on Canyon Blaster at SFOG. To better explain this, here is the setting - 100 degrees at noon on a Monday - Line was over an hour - Parents yelled at 2 adults riding their kids ride Overall, it was outstanding A close 2nd is waiting in line for 4 hours right after opening hoping HRRR at USF would open for a soft opening. My fiancee stood with me the entire time despite having the flu.
Angry_Gumball Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Does a wardrobe full of coaster/park-related apparel count, along with wearing something coaster/park-related every day? Otherwise, trying to snag kiddie coasters that I can actually fit on (like SCBB's sea serpent, and the Oakland Zoo's Tiger Express), having a coaster wallpaper on every electronic device that supports it (phone, DSi, PSP, PC...)
stingrock23 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 the kiddie coaster at the former celebration station on the deep south tour. I don't even remember what it was, but it was so whorish. Zuma? Zamba? Zanstar? I don't even remember, but the waiting area had a history of elvis, so at least I learned something. and it was close to a carraba's, so it had some charm. that's really the only credit whoring i've done. on midwest, i was not a whore. something changed me, i don't know what.
odene497 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 ^^There was a day when I was in highschool where I thought "I want to get more coaster shirts and be that coaster kid who wears a different one every day!". Then I thought again. Your entry fairs quite well.
CreditCrazy Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 I used to have drawings of coasters all over my room. Now those are replaced with park maps. I also 'stole a kid' to ride Jr. Gemini at Cedar Point and beg to ride Percy's Railway nearly everytime I go to SFMM.
atem122 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 ^let me vouch for him about Percy Oh yeah, to add to the list of things I automatically say on rides: I must scream "Death helix" as I enter Goliath's helix...and whenever I'm going through Viper's (SFMM) corkscrews, I scream "Cactus!"
Jojo19799 Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 Cheering when we got a kiddie coaster to rollback. It was tough, but when you get enough TPR members (that are heading to Vegas) together, you can accomplish anything. That was probably one of the best experiences in my whole entire life. I was surprised it made it up the lift the first time around. I've also borrowed children, well my friend has. We weren't even on a coaster. He wanted to ride the Big Red Car in Wiggles World. I've also rode the Big Red Airplane (I'm not sure if that's the right name). However when I rode the airplane, I was with my friend and her cousin who was 4 at the time so it was totally legit.
Bolliger&Mabillard Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 On a recent trip to MM, another guest asked an employee where the bathrooms were. The employee didn't know so I blurted out (in a friendly tone of course) They're located across from the season pass processing. Couldn't help it. I still know that park like the back of my hand.
the ghost Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 My friend and I went to Knotts in ninth grade and he was scared because he had never been on sliver bullet and asked what it was like, my answer was: You go up a hill(knew the hight then) go through a loop an overbanked turn a cobra roll a zero g roll followed by a bit of a twisty hill 2 corkscrews over/near the lake and an upwards helix My friend was even more scared because he never realized the ride did that much.
HEADCHEEZ Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 In English class, We had to write a paragraph of the most memorable experience you have had. I wrote about West Coast Bash 2009. It was 3 pages long.
FLIPDUDE Posted November 8, 2009 Posted November 8, 2009 On the Midwest trip I went around asking people if I can ride with their kids, and when someone agreed I had to wait 45 minutes(!) in line to ride Jr. Gemini... Quite nerdy but as far as I know me and Ryan are the only ones from the trip with that credit, so yay!
