redlaser21 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 IM so asking my parents to let me go to the midwest trip cause it sounds awesome
Jds03 Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 I thought the chat was awesome, and it was really cool to be able to call in! Oh and I got my first bag of crap! It would be really cool to do that again in the future where we get to ask totaly random and off topic questions!
Sir Clinksalot Posted October 8, 2009 Posted October 8, 2009 Question: Any public transportation suggestions from BWI to Richmond if we should decide to come into Baltimore a day or two early to do SFA/DC area stuff?
Thelegendarymatthew Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 I have a question that may of been answered in another thread, but I'm too lazy to hunt it down. I know that your allowed to go on a trip with TPR with parental permission at the age of 16, but would we get special restrictions because of our age? -Matthew K.
robbalvey Posted October 9, 2009 Author Posted October 9, 2009 I have a question that may of been answered in another thread, but I'm too lazy to hunt it down. This has been answered many, many times. Stop being lazy!
Thelegendarymatthew Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 ^I found it in last years transcript. I also read that, and I found some pretty good info in there, that answered most of my questions for the trips in general. Now lazy me, needs to go to sleep. -Matthew K.
window Posted October 9, 2009 Posted October 9, 2009 . Q: What is the alternate plan if Ring Racer is not open in time for the trip? A: We could substitute other parks if closed. There is plenty to do and regardless, it will be an awesome trip! Regardless of the Ring Racer being open or closed, you MUST ride the Ring Taxi. You will not regret this! The Ring Taxi is a BMW M5 driven by a professional racing driver around the Nurburgring at ridiculous speed. Possibly more thrilling than any other ride on the trip. http://bmw-motorsport.com/ms/en/fascination/ring_taxi/index.html?refy=http://www.google.co.uk/search%3Fhl=en%26safe=active%26q=ring+taxi%26meta=
latinboy84909 Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I have never been to a TPR trip and would love to go on the Middle America trip. Unfortunately it might be expensive for me and probably wont be able to take 2 weeks off from work. But the Intimidatour sounds pretty good and more reasonable to me.
STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 This was awesome to listen to. I sat here with a pen and paper and took notes like I was in class, haha. Some of the things talked about made me feel a lot more comfortable about going, as I was pretty nervous. Wait... who am I kidding? I am still pretty damn nervous! I'm bummed that I wasn't able to make it to the live version, but this was still great to listen to. Thanks Robb & Elissa!
Squid Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Well, my wife and I are going to go for the MidAmerica trip... it sounds like a lot of fun! (Oh, and thanks for fixing my account!) Squid
hoost2 Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 I live in the UK, would it be possible to meet up with the group on the europe trip on their day in alton towers???
freekeee Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 you mean UK trip right? to save time ill just tell you the question about meeting up at a park has been answered TONNES of times, i suggest you go and find the answer yourself!
robbalvey Posted October 10, 2009 Author Posted October 10, 2009 I live in the UK, would it be possible to meet up with the group on the europe trip on their day in alton towers??? This was already kind of answered on page one: Q: Can we meet up with the trip? A: TPR members are always welcome to meet up with the tour, however unless the day is officially opened up to non-tour participants, you would not be able to take part in any perks that we've orgnized. (Exclusive Ride Time, backstage tours, meals, etc). Those are ONLY for tour participants. We also recommend that if you do want to meet up with the tour that you either come with someone or know someone on the trip that you are meeting up with. People on the trips usually form their own groups, and while we don't mean to sound "clique-ish" or anything, it is hard for a complete stranger to a group to try to "hang out" when everyone has been traveling together for several days at a time. We will try to do meet-ups, or a "Bash" at some point on every trip so that locals in the area can come and hang out and take part in our ERT sessions, tours, etc.
GeorgeT Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Thanks, Robb, for (sometimes) being soooo patient with those, who`re asking stuff that was answered a fantastillion times (at least !) before... GeorgeT
pakossa Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Do you guys have some kind of visual listing of the trips somewhere, or is that only available in that audio thing? (If so, WHY?! To me its much easier to SEE the list, rather than listening to it . . . )
Carnage Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Do you guys have some kind of visual listing of the trips somewhere, www.themeparkreview.com/events/
Squid Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Mr. Alvey, you mentioned that you're planning a trip to Japan for 2011. Offhand, are you planning on going to Tokyo Disney for that trip? Squid
Noxegon Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 I'm not Robb, but I don't believe Elissa would allow a trip to Japan that *didn't* spend at least a few days at Tokyo Disney
MichaelD Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Robb/Elissa, I have a question about the IntimadaTOUR - I see that Dollywood has been mentioned as a destination on this trip - do they have something new planned (can't see anything on their website) or are you going because it's on the way to somewhere else anyway and it's DOLLYWOOD? (Mmmm.....Dollyfood). (I guess it could be an opportunity for credit whores to pick up the Veggie Tales and the NASCAR Speedpark credits )
Squid Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Michael, Dollywood is building Adventure Mountain, a highly themed rope course activity area in the Mountain Pass area. This was the project that was supposed to be built for this year, but they delayed it due to the economy. It's already under construction and should be open well before the tour. If I remember correctly, the original cost for the project was about $5 million, but a doubling in price forced the delay. So it's now on schedule for 2010. Squid
robbalvey Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 ^ He knows. He was on our 2009 Deep South trip to Dollywood. And Michael, to answer your question - it's mainly because it's an awesome park and we are in the area. And for people who did not do our Deep South trip this year, I think it adds a great park lineup for that trip. I mean, think about, when was the last time we visited this many "star attractions" in such a short period of time? --Robb
hoost2 Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 re my last post..Im sorry I havnt had time to read all the info, been too busy..I was only asking, no need to have a go
technfxrick Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 For the Middle America Tour, it says Wisconsin Dell's, which parks in the Dell's is this going to include?
Not For Sale Posted October 12, 2009 Posted October 12, 2009 ^Every park that has a credit (most likely).
rclay2003 Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 for research sake, I'm looking to go on the UK trip and was wondering, as far as the tour dates go, are the first and last dates travel days or should we research travel options one day before and after?
