Gutterflower
Hey all This kind of appeared from nowhere. I heard a park in Taiwan called EDA world was building a custom Vekoma Family coaster so i decided to look it up. After a bit of googling i found they have constructed Vekomas Big Air Coaster Already Park Site: http://www.edaworld.com.tw/content_eda_theme_park.php?lan=en More Pics: http://album.udn.com/ajoescola/photo/3456835?o=reply#photoanc For those of you who don't know. Vekoma's Big Air coaster is very much like an Intamin halfpipe on steroids.

andyuk200523
This is probably the prototype coaster which was at the factory in the Netherlands, It was built years ago so probably got sold at a discount price! Good on someone to buy it though, it has always looked like a fun ride!
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess
I remembered there was a park that originally had plans to build one of these but it never worked out. Forgot which one it was but it's in the UK. So I assume it is not open yet? I just came across it on RCDB today. It says opened 2009 but the status is still "under construction". PKI Jizzman
Okay, now it just looks like a sit down impulse coaster. Go with the spinning trains like Intamin! Those half pipes are awesome.

Airtime&Gravity
Okay, now it just looks like a sit down impulse coaster. Go with the spinning trains like Intamin! Those half pipes are awesome. From my understanding of the ride, the cars rotate 180* at the top of the towers. This looks like a lot of fun, and I'm amazed that it was actually built, since I was sure it never would. If this works well, hopefully more will be built in the coming years. That being said, I expect this ride to experiene a lot of downtime during the first year it's open.
Crazy_Behemoth_Lady_Jess
Or atleast go floorless... I wonder how much that will change the experiance. If I am correct, Intamin halfpipes are floorless too.
Airtime&Gravity
^Only in the sense that B&M mega coasters are floorless. While your feet don't touch the floor, a floor still exists. I was looking at the stats of this coaster on the Vekoma website, and this thing makes the Intamin half pipes loo like kiddie coasters. This will be Vekoma's tallest and fastest coaster, standing 197ft tall with a top speed of 67mph.
Tmcdllr
So how does it get up the towers? Catch car, LIMs? Is it raised up one tower then dropped or is it launched and how?
