The size of this coaster continues to surprise me. It's just huge!

 

I also like the colours. Blue looks good on this coaster.

I remember all the fuss when Apollo was in the planning stages and BGW promised the residents that it would not be an "eye sore" from route 60 and it would be painted in "earth tone" colors.

I don't know about you guys but nothing screams earth tone like bright yellow and purple!

From what I remember, the color was chosen because it will blend into the sky. BGW was required to paint it an un-obtrusive color. Like you are going to hide a 205 foot tall steel structure no matter what color it is.

This is exciting! Awesome pictures! I can't wait to ride Griffon. Personally I thought Sheikra was awesome, and I'm looking forward to this. I love B&M! I like the blue colors though, but that is a good question.

From a distance, Griffon looks gray...not blue. There is no humanly way to minimize its presence, haha. But I guess Busch Gardens knows how to say the right things to please Kings Mill residents.

 

 

Anyways, the hard hat tour was amazing and I'm glad all of you guys enjoyed the photo update!

 

Also, I think I saw somebody asked the exact length of the drop on the last page. To answer your question, Bolliger said that from rail to rail, it is indeed 205 feet. I know, we all thought it may be a tad bit longer with the dive under the bridge into that trench, but it turns out it is actually 205 feet.

So um, is it going to be Skeikra or Griffon that gets props for being the first ever floorless drop coaster?Because ive heard that Skeikra is going to get the props for it.

 

Can anyone confirm this for me?

^ As far as I know Griffon will. Sheikra is getting the trains in June I think? Griffon will be open by then.

The word you're looking for is "ravine." Griffon's lifthill tops out at 205 feet, while Sheikra's is 200 feet.

Latest word is the track is all in place and they are filling in the concrete for the water splash and working on the lift hill. Only 33 more days till the park opens again

disappointing? I'd give up riding rollercoasters to get the opportunity to do a front row outside seat on that ride!!!

I say the ride was disappointing because I was expecting more variety instead of just another immelman, but thats just my opinion.

I think it looks awesome, because the only Dive Machine I've been on is Oblivion. ANYTHING has to be more interesting than THAT.
