Jonathan Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 You can tell just by watching the video that it is not a clone of Sheikra. The second vertical drop is in a different location. It might still be very similar and have the same elements, but it isn't a clone.
ECZenith Posted August 14, 2006 Posted August 14, 2006 I really hope this has the floorless trains, it truly would be unique in the world. Can you imagine hanging over SheiKra's drop with even more anticipation? I'm loving the colors too, so far so good.
TheKlockster Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Wanna see a pic of Busch Gardens new Dive Machine? This was a drive by - and unfortunately I snapped the shot a little too late - but there it is - peeking around the corner of that trailer! It looks "bigger" than regular track (there is regular track on site as well) - so this may be your diver. Why hello there little fella! You can't hide from me!
Golfie Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 From what I can see on the teaser, it will have two big drops. However, the second drop doesn't look like it will be 90 degrees. It also looks like the station is similar to how Gwazi at BGA is styled. Andrew "8 more days!" C.
jedimaster1227 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I believe that there was a deal with Busch Entertainment and B&M so that B&M couldn't make any other dive machines (except for Busch) during a certain amount of years-but this hasn't been confirmed as far as I know.
jedimaster1227 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 From what I was told about the Sheikra/Griffon deal at Busch, B&M can't make another dive machine for a certain amount of years under contract by anyone other than Busch. I'm not so sure on this one, but I figured I should put in my two cents (technically, my friend's two cents).
Movieguy Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 It's good to hear they're expanding this park. On the other hand, while I enjoyed the coasters at BGE when I visited in 2004, I also liked how there was soooooo much more to the park than thrill rides...when you live in an area that can only offer parks like SFDL, you grow to appreciate the appeal and worth of a well-rounded park. Especially one that has such great food! I hope Busch doesn't forget about this fact, as they prepare to slip another coaster onto their land.

If Busch was planning to have the two coasters 2 years apart, they obviously wouldn't want some other park in the US to build one before they did.
ECZenith Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 I agree with what was said abou tthe angle of the second drop. It definately looks more like 70 degrees or so. In the video, even the first drop doesn't look quite like 89 degrees... but it's just a concept video and can be deceiving.
steel Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 Here's what we all wanted to see. The very beginning of the video. There are a few pieces of track that are barely noticable, so they're circled. And yes, you can see Alpengeist in the background.
CD Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 If you look at this picture: http://www.bgescape.com/Gallery/displayimage.php?album=12&pos=4 and you compare it to the video, it appears that the cable cars will go right through this coaster, maybe under the turn around. I love these cable cars because you get awsome veiws of the park and all of its coasters, just imagine going right next to the vertical drop of this beast. It would be amazing!
CD Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 It also appears that the second *vertical* drop will be diving right down this little cliff, Its seem we have a terrian coaster on or hands! http://www.bgescape.com/Gallery/displayimage.php?album=12&pos=7 It is amazing what you can get off of a tesear video!
SideWindZ Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 7 days 15 hours 27 minutes and 38 seconds uintill announcement
steel Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 ^NOOO! I realized a while back that I start school the day after the announcement. Did anyone even notice my last post? I thought that's what people wanted to look closer at.
stormrider Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 I was hoping to hear what the ride was sooner, but I start school next Monday! Though I'm across the coutry and will probably ride the ride when it's five years old, I can still be interested in what it looks like
BeemerBoy Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Bump. You guys aren't being fair to Griffon. He feels left out from all the pointless webcam-watching speculation about the new Aquatrax.
jamesdillaman Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Griffon is going to be the much rumored B&M Aquatrax Floorless dive machine. Can't wait! I'd bet my little brother that it's an aquatrax.
redfoot12 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 I'm headed to BGE this weekend. Will be on the lookout for anything newsworthy. Will probably pick up my 2007 Season Pass as well.
steel Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Bump. You guys aren't being fair to Griffon. He feels left out from all the pointless webcam-watching speculation about the new Aquatrax. P07 isn't getting my attention any more. Griffon rules and will be a better ride anyway.
alpengeist04 Posted August 18, 2006 Posted August 18, 2006 Cedar Point is building a coaster? Actually, I'm more interested in The Griffon and Mystery Mine than CP's coaster.
palavos3 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 I don't care what anybody says. There is no way this ride will be better than Sheikra. L=Just look at the video. What an ugly looking ride!!!!
alpengeist04 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 ^Yea, you can really judge a ride by it's lift hill.
