socalMAN123 Posted September 10, 2008 Posted September 10, 2008 I'm gonna agree with kennywood and say that A&A is not an emo band. ---Brent
socalMAN123 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Yeah dude. I really do agree with you about their lyrics, they are pretty powerful. ---Brent
spaceace12 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I am not much into music performing groups, but love listening to Marching bands. My favorite to listen to is Purdue's All American Marching band. They have a really big bass drum (I really want to see a Purdue Football gamet sometime soon).
CP_RULES Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 Fixed. Fixed? FIXED?! AvA is one of the most powerful bands I have ever heard in my life. Their drums are f@ck!ng amazing and their lyrics actually have meaning. If you want emo try something like My Chemical Romance. Angels & Airwaves is about as emo as the Beatles.
kennywood!007 Posted September 11, 2008 Posted September 11, 2008 I was pretty sure it's Everything's Magic, that's VERY far from emo. "Everyday I wake up I tell myself a little harmless lie, the whole wide world is mine"....emo? "Hey-o here I am, and here we go life's waiting to begin."....I'd say inspirational. "If I had my own world I'd build you an empire."....umm doing everything you absolutely can for a loved one. I'd say pretty damn inspirational.
CoasterCrazy88 Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 If you want emo try something like My Chemical Romance. MCR? EMO?! Not at all. Gerard Way, MCR front man once said, "I think emo’s a pile of sh!t... Emo is f**king garbage – it’s bullshit. I think there are bands that we get lumped in with that are considered emo and, by default, that starts to make us emo. All I can say is that anyone actually listening to the records, putting the records next to each other and listening to them, would know there are actually no similarities.” Hope that clears things up, CP. ----Antonio
Wes Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 "Everyday I wake up I tell myself a little harmless lie, the whole wide world is mine"....emo? "Hey-o here I am, and here we go life's waiting to begin."....I'd say inspirational. "If I had my own world I'd build you an empire."....umm doing everything you absolutely can for a loved one. I'd say pretty damn inspirational. Not necessarily emo, but those lyrics are pretty trite and cliché.
kennywood!007 Posted September 13, 2008 Posted September 13, 2008 ^True, but I was trying pick out the most positive ones I could remember in the songs.
lil jimmy norton Posted September 16, 2008 Posted September 16, 2008 Metallica. Tool, A Perfect Circle, Soundgarden. Those are the bands I would actually spend the money to see on tour, except Soundgarden I can't really go see them anymore. I have seen Metallica and Tool though.
woah_killa Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 My music preferences change every other day. However...recently I've been listening to The Cab or Jack's Mannequin.
socalMAN123 Posted September 17, 2008 Posted September 17, 2008 ^ Jack's Mannequin is amazing. ---Brent
sushirocks13 Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 !PARAMORE! !COBRA STARSHIP! and !PAN!C AT THE DISCO!
KPWoCkAxX Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 ^^ I've recently developed a liking for paramore I love 30 Seconds To Mars! Just check out my avatar! But my favourite band ever is Avenged Sevenfold, I've seen them live supporting Iron Maiden, and they just blew my mind!
Xizor_Racer Posted November 27, 2008 Posted November 27, 2008 Rush tops the list for me, my first concert evar, though my tastes run all over the place. I've seen everything from Chicago, Survivor and the Beach boys to Mettalica (with Cliff) Ozzy, and the Scorpions.
chmilo24 Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Atreyu, Bullet For My Valentine, The Devil Wears Prada, and Rise Against. --Chris
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 At the moment? Slipknot, Five Finger Death Punch, and Bullet for My Valentine
STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 Alkaline Trio -or- Between The Buried And Me It's a toss up!
the ghost Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 My favorite bands are ... Coal Chamber Fear Factory Judas Priest Kittie Mudvayne Mushroomhead Slipknot System Of Down Thats pretty funny that you like Slipknot and mushroom head as they hate and want to kill each other. SLIPKNOT 4EVER I am hopefully seeing them and Coheed and Cambria in concert as well as some band called Trivium which I've never heard of. C&C are great though although I don't know much by them. I AM THE GREAT BIG MOUTH
socalMAN123 Posted November 28, 2008 Posted November 28, 2008 The Devil Wears Prada, and Rise Against. Both are good bands. I was gonna see Devil Wears Prada last week, but I didn't have the time or money. As for Rise Against, I've been following them for a couple of years now. ---Brent
