" After a long 21 year history at the park, we will be removing Iron Wolf. Make sure to get your last rides in – Iron Wolf’s Last Stand is September 5. "

Not to call anyone out, but looks like Screamscape is right again.

SFGAm World posted the latest rumor with the final date before SS this time, though, so SS should only get credit for Posting the SFA permit.

Good move by the park. Excited we will now have two large spaces for future attractions.

I feel sort of stupid I doubted the rumors at first about Iron Wolf leaving, but now i'm happy it's gone.

This rumor, I totally bought from the beginning because the lines are so short on IW, and it was a waste of operations $. The fact they didn't rehab at all was the big clue to me its remaining lifespan here was short. Now they can lure people with new attractionsl

No real loss for the park, as the ride almost never had a line. Hopefully the space it occupies will be used by a ride that the public wants to ride, instead of one that is almost banned by the Geneva Convention. While it has potential to be a good ride as it is fairly intense, it didn't have that potential at this park. No rehab would draw the general public to ride it even if it was incredibly smooth. Six Flags made the right move to, presumably to rehab and relocate it, and hopefully a great ride is added in its place.

I'm a little more concerned by what appears to be the restart or the ride relocation program, and I hope that whatever new ride is added isn't sent to a new park after three years like in the old relocation system.

^^That would be one of the most nonsensical things Six Flags has ever done, but they have done some pretty crazy things over the years, so I wouldn't COMPLETELY rule it out. It'd just be a shame to all the Deja Vu fans out in California if it got moved from SFMM to SFGAm who already went through a Deja Vu.

Posted

Well, I don't like to spread false info, but right now there is a "rumor" that SFMM's Deja Vu is headed to SFNE, which is odd because they do have a Boomerang. (though that didn't stop La Ronde from adding the SLC near a B&M invert)

But back to SFGrAm: With Iron Wolf going, that leaves a smaller footprint open to a Deja Vu-sized ride, doesn't it?

99.9% sure it won't happen, but it's one of those "Things that make you going Hmm".

(do you like my C&C referencing?)

Are you hinting that they would get Deja Vu? If so, why would they? They already had one and got rid of it.

If that's not what you are meaning, then I return you to this regularly schedule topic thread.

Well, I'm defiantly sad to see IW go as I loved it's layout, and it was just something different. I know stand ups aren't really the most unique type of coaster, but there's not an abundance of them either. Anyway, hopefully they can work out the kinks and breathe some new life into it at a new park.

As for American Eagle, does anyone know why it shuffles and is so clunky for part of the lift? The last few times I rode it, the last time especially, it literally felt like a wheel would lift up off the track and then smack back down. I've never noticed it anywhere else on the ride, just the lift. Kinda felt like it hit the lift awkwardly and had to shuffle around to settle in. Nothing too bad, just a bit odd..

Eagle Backwards opened today at around 5:00pm.

Wow, I entered a contest for first ride on monday, I guess since they opened it yesterday it's really not a first ride on monday

To be fair, it was never going to be a "first ride", as AE has been run backwards before...

This move is a win for both parks. SFGAm had this thing for 21 years, so it was well used and served it's purpose. First of it's kind anywhere and was a nice B&M to have in the park, but hearing that lines dwindled over the years, it seems it did it's time. Now it looks like the move to SFA is actually going to happen and this is a win for SFA as well. Finally a new ride, and a park that can really use the coaster, much more then SFGAm did, plus if it's refurbished, repainted, etc, it will be a very nice "new" ride when SFA assembles it, good for both parks!

It's done that for years and years. A bit unnerving, but it must not be anything serious.

Im going to the park monday, (with a certain someone on these fourms) and I'm gonna ride AE backwards and then do some investigating on IW. Can't wait

Can't say I'll miss it much, but it'll still be sad to see it go. I just hope this means we will get a replacement new year.

On another note I'm excited to ride the Eagle backwards again!

Yeah, that AE bounce has been there for many a moon. It used to be pretty evident at the base of the lift, but I didn't notice it on opening day. Maybe it's a seat thing.

I prefer to remember Iron Wolf in its pre-1995 days, before it scrambled my potentially unborn children.

Grizzly at KD does the same sort of thing on the lift, last time I rode we hit the chain pretty hard & the dog under my car must've been the one that locked in to the chain cuz that sudden jolt hurt worse than usual.

It's definitely the train itself, because I watch a blue side car lift up briefly while racing on the red side. I've been riding it since it opened, though, and it's always done it as far back as I can remember.

I'm honestly glad that it'll find a new home. Despite its historical value at the park, its glory days are certainly well behind it. I rode it once in 2005, and I don't remember much about the ride, but it was not my favorite by any stretch of the imagination. If the ride gets any type of rehab (whether it's refurbed trains or new paint) it's a welcome improvement.

It's supose to get new trains if I remember correctly

New trains won't help a mediocre ride one bit.
