Six Flags Great America (SFGAm) Discussion Thread

p. 513 - Wrath of Rakshasa dive coaster announced for 2025!

Recommended Posts

Ahh, Great America how I've missed you. I'll be making my last visit of the season and last ride on iron wolf on saturday. I've been to busy with school and sports starting. I'm very excited to finally see things happening in the SWF area though!

This has already been posted in the SFA thread but I feel it still has some relevance here.

Six Flags America: I will tell you this - when we announce what IS new for 2012... the answer will not be Iron Wolf. Jus' Sayin!

Yeah, like posters said, the answer will just be IW with a new name.

Looks like it is the end of "world".... maybe it's some sort or record? Not anything major for sure, but maybe tallest/fastest of it's type in the world?

Looks to me like...

NEW FOR 2012

TALLEST ZAC SPIN/WINGRIDER IN THE WORLD

I'm guessing it's: "The best theme park in the world" with a line below it saying "just got better," like last year.

Hopefully it is a coaster, and while I doubt it'll be a B&M wingrider, I can see a zac-spin or euro-fighter being built. Both of those would be good additions, although the capacity wouldn't be high, and most of the general public probably hasn't ridden one. Then again, with Iron Wolf leaving, maybe we can see multiple rides added. If that happens, I don't see two coasters being added, but I can see a sky flyer being added if that's the case.

I like the puzzle announcement...didn't they do this last year as well?

Also interesting that it seems like September 1 will be the big day chain wide for ALL announcements. I'm guessing that they're doing that because we're going to see some relocated rides and they'll have to explain and expand on what the park that is losing the ride will be getting or risk a ton of crazy comments!

^They did indeed use the puzzle last year, but someone was able to decode the entire picture well ahead of schedule, so the Riptide Bay info got leaked early. I assume they've taking measures to ensures it doesn't happen again.

^^I am hoping (maybe against hope) that we are not just getting a Eurofighter and Zacspin, at least not without something unique and bigger in addition, reason being that SF did a good job of giving each park a ride unique to that park rather than clones for this year, aside from the two Skycreamers (Eurofighter at SFOG, Zacspin at SFMM, Texas Giant rehab at SFOT, Riptide Bay for SFGAm, Rehabbed stand-up at SFGA, Wild mouse at SFNE, etc.). I just have a feeling they want to give such a popular park as ours something more than just a clone, when we've been waiting for a new major coaster since 2003, have lost two major coasters in the last 5 years once IW leaves, and the whole Chang thing fell apart, costing us a big IW replacement, even if it wasn't new.

Yeah this is a lot nicer from when they announced Eagle blue side going backwards. They just posted random pictures of notes that were blurred out. I figured out the announcement on the first clue. Glad to see they're doing something a bit more creative here.

I'm curious as to where this new ride is going. We all know it will be in the IW or Raceway/Splash area. Those are the only two areas that are cleared (or will be cleared) for the new ride.

Although I still think that we should get Greezed Lightning back and call it Deja Vu.

Thank you! I'll be here all night!!

EPIC WIN! TOTALLY AGREE! BRING BACK TIDAL WAVE!

He was kidding. Tidal Wave, while fun enough at the time, had little ridership when it left. It was always a walk-on. V2 blows it away, though TW had the loop and was a Schwarzkopf.
