The Bebes Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 The Bebes will be collecting coster #100 during our Coaster Tour Part Duex at the end of the month. We will be entering Hersheypark with at least 96 and as many as 99. What ride at Hersheypark should we choose as our SPECIAL #100??? And why?
OldJJman Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Trailblazer! Lately, I've been trying to make all of my significant numbered coasters either kiddie coasters, or something really crappy! Do it for the fun of it!! JJ
Thelegendarymatthew Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Well make sure its something you want to remember. I mean my 50th credit was Griffon, and I'm proud of that. You should always pick your mild stone credits wisely (if you THAT into it) I would recommend WildCat or Lightning Racer, why? GCI Ok, maybe you shouldn't pick your 100 point, just because its my favorite coaster co. ^-^' Well, my 25th credit (my 1/2 point so far) was Great Bear, I would go to that, but if you really want something to be stuck in memory. Go to Storm Runner, its a very good coaster with a great launch and a lot of twistiness.
tedten Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Hooray for your 100th credit, hooray for this being my 100th post! I would suggest one of four depending on your personal preference: 1)Comet - at 63 years old it's the oldest coaster in the park and the only one that's at least 50 years old. 2)Great Bear - really neat invert with the 7 elements idea like the 7 stars in the constellation of the same name(the big dipper part of Ursa Major). 3) Storm runner - wow 4) Fahrenheit - 97* and falling fast
hyyyper Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Does it really matter that much? Last time I checked, Storm Runner launch speed is not depening on coaster count. Just have a good time at Hershey, that's what counts.
TPDave Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Trailblazer! Lately, I've been trying to make all of my significant numbered coasters either kiddie coasters, or something really crappy! Do it for the fun of it!! JJ I agree! I'm hitting 350 and 400 this summer, hopefully on crappy kids rides Could just be me (and Jeff) though!
Chris Benvenuto Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Fahrenheit or Storm Runner. I'll probably be hitting both this August, so one of those two. Just my two cents.
coasterdad Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Mine would be any of the wooden coasters, I would presonaly pick Lighting Racer.
SharkTums Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I also *try* to get something crappy for milestones (which has been pretty easy lately with all these China Trips!), but in your case, you'll be at a nice park, but it will be busy and no 'fastpass' type option. I would just go in whatever order makes the most sense, and not worry about which one you hit in which order.
Sir Clinksalot Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 My #100 was Sidewinder at Hershey. Even though it's a semi-decent boomerang, it's still a boomerang.
grinch1313 Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 Trailblazer! Nope, I do that too. I'm getting 300 this summer and it needs to be something kiddie or awesomely fun. My 100 was Whizzer at SFGAm, 200 was Blackbeard's Treasure Train at SFGAd, and 250 was Fiesta Express at Cypress Gardens. I vote Trailblazer or SooperDooperLooper.
Josh Linn Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I lucked out and got Montu as my 50th, but I don't really care what goes where, as long as you ride them. If you are looking to make it "memorable" though, I'd go with Storm Runner.
Teacups Make Me Sick Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I vote Trailblazer or SooperDooperLooper. I agree with the SooperDooperLooper...maybe I'm just partial to it b/c it was my first looping coaster, but its a classic and awesome ride.
Divv3k Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I'm in the camp of those who go for crappy coasters as milestones! #100 - Dragon Wagon at Beech Bend #200 - Road Runner Railway at SFGAdv #300 - Wild Mouse at Drieviet I did make an exception to this rule for #250 and made it truly landmark by riding Dog Fart Coaster at BonBon-Land!!! I agree that you shouldn't try and base your day around it and just try and get on the rides in the order that makes most sense!
CreditCrazy Posted May 12, 2009 Posted May 12, 2009 I say Fahrenheit. It may not be the best coaster in the park (or it may be!) but I'd say it's most unique, most memorable, and most famous (like that one matters though, pretty much just to the GP...). That's what I would choose for my 100th.
HPCrazy Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 I'd prefer either Fahrenheit or Storm Runner. If it has to be a woodie, I'd say either Lightning Racer or Comet.
Big Mike Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 If you very important Valuable Big Mike Readers BOTH have the exact same coaster count, I would suggest that you ride Lightning Racer against each other in seperate trains, that way one of you can have bragging rights forever on who made it to #100 first See you at Dorney! Peace, Big Mike
OldJJman Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 ... I would suggest that you ride Lightning Racer against each other in separate trains, that way one of you can have bragging rights forever on who made it to #100 first Ya know, that's not a half bad idea Mikey!! Do that!! That would be cool!! JJ
The Bebes Posted May 13, 2009 Author Posted May 13, 2009 Thanks for all the suggestions everyone!!! Big Mike, I (Mr. Bebe) LOVE your idea. I had counted Lightning Racer out of the equation because of the two different sides, but a race for #100 sure would be awesome fun and definately memorable! And that's what life is all about! Creating great and wonderful memories from great and wonderful experiences! Glad you remember Dorney coming up on the 29th. We are getting very excited! We went to Knotts and Belmont Park this weekend and pickup up 3 new credits (Timberline Twister, Pony Express & Giant Dipper). We officially called ourselves "credit whores" after riding Timberline Twister. We've been to Knott's dozens of times and never even knew where it was, avoiding kiddie coasters is (was) our M.O. ALSO, IF Terminator:Salvation opens on time, then our #100 will likely be Phoenix at Knoebel's.
adeuce02 Posted May 13, 2009 Posted May 13, 2009 i say the comet cause it was my first coaster. Doesnt get no better than that or the superdooperlooper
