About a year and a half ago my family and I went on the Navigator of the Seas. It was awesome, but there was a storm at Labadee so we could not dock with the other small boats that brought you to shore. And because of that we spent two days at sea rather than one to get to Jamaica.

Great pics so far Robb.

If you guys think Liberty of the Seas is big, wait until Royal Carribean's new Oasis Class is launched next year!

This class will feature ships that are 70,000 gross tons larger than Liberty of the Seas.

They will even have an on-ship Zipline!

Seriously these ships are getting so big I am still surprised that no one has tried to put rides on them- A LIM shuttle coaster or something...

Actually, for a while, when Carnival was designing their new Dream Class Ships, (Then called Project Pinnacle) they were planning on building the first at-sea Rollercoaster. Unfortunately no other specifics were given.

This update makes me more excited when we go on our Mexican Riviera cruise over New Years. That ZipLine looks way better than the one we are going on but think I'd rather trust a Haitian ZipLine of that size than a Mexican one any day.

Can't wait for more updates and especially updates from THE MIDNIGHT BUFFET!

Hmm--contrast your location with mine. Looks like blue skies, temps in, what, the 80s?

Here, at Lake Tahoe, it's been snowing, the temperature was 1 this morning. Not exactly zipline weather.

Looks like an awesome time to be in a ship on the Caribbean.

Yeah, how fun for you guys! My friend and I did the Freedom of the Seas in April and it was one of the best vacations I ever took! We did the ziplining in Jamaica and a daylong swim with stingrays/lay on best beach ever thing.

Oh yeah, the martini class was the best 10 dollars I ever spent!

Yea, Stingray City was by FAR the best part of trip. Apart from all you can eat pizza and ice cream. Man its a good thing I walked everywhere I went.

If you go to Grand Cayman, you HAVE to do Stingray city. AWESOME experience.

I've never been on a cruise before, but we are planning on going on one for spring break. You just got me really excited!

We are planning on doing a weeklong Disney Cruise with four days at Disneyworld and three days at sea. Have you ever been on a Disney cruise, Robb?

I have never done a Disney cruise, but Elissa has so she can speak more to that. The only thing I'll say is that a three day cruise really just isn't enough. Because your departure day is usually one of the three days basically by the time you get on the ship, it's time to leave.

I would not reccomend anyone doing any shorter than a 7 day cruise to get the full experience.

Oh man, this lunch is going to be full of head banging!

There's a little bit of Knott's in every Royal Caribbean ship! I remember this from my cruises on Splendor of the Seas, and Vision of the Seas.

Looks like you're having a great time. It's been 3 years since my last cruise, and I look forward to going on another someday. (The lack of over-excitement means I have gotten over my cruise obsession phase )

Personally, the excursions activities such as the zipline, seem more exciting to me than the cruise itself. Or maybe I'm just saying that because with the offseason here, I can't get my fill of necessary thrills at amusement parks.

Thanks for the input, Robb. I guess we'll have to rethink our plans then.

Don't let Robb discourage you. The 3 day Disney cruises are very nice, especially if you've never cruised before and just want a brief but fun overview of what the experience has to offer. You get a day at Castaway Cay, a cool pirate themed party night, and lots of fun Disney touches!

Ok, I'm doing advertising now.

^ I dunno, I guess that it just seems very pointless to me to do such a short cruise. For example on this last cruise I couldn't have even imagined getting off the ship on day three. It would have been like "What? I've just unpacked yesterday and now I have to get off the ship tomorrow?"

You don't even have an "at sea day" on the 3-day Disney cruise which, IMO, is one of the highlights of any cruise! A day where you really get to explore and see what the ship has to offer.

The excursion days can be a bit tiring, especially if you are doing any activities in port. I find that after a day full of activities, you get back to the ship in the afternoon, go to dinner, and basically just crash out.

It's those "at sea days" where I sometimes have the most 'relaxing fun.'

I don't disagree that those three days will probably be great and full of little Disney touches, but the whole overall cruise experience would just be "short" IMO.

Maybe it's because I've only done a minimum of a week long cruise. We're doing a 14 day cruise in April so who knows, maybe after that trip I'll say the same about the 7 day cruises!

Yeah, were not sure what we want yet. We just know that we want to go on a cruise, and go to Disneyworld. We'll just decide when it gets closer to spring break. I'll keep what y'all said in mind when we decide though.

One question before I forget. Is there things to do for the entire family on the disney cruise, or is it just things for kids? We are taking our whole family, and I want us all to have fun.

Thats how I felt after a week! I just went on my first cruise this year on the Norwegian Gem around Europe, it was an absolute blast! I can't wait to get on another. I have heard really good things about Royal Caribbean and would really like to go on one of their ships someday.

It's easy to see how you guys would love cruises so much, they're such an unforgetable experience! The photos are great, and it looks like you guys are having an awesome time. That zipline looks insane!

Anyways, good to see everyone is enjoying themselves, thanks for sharing your experience with us all!

^^ YES! There is absolutely things for the entire family to do. One of the biggest misconceptions about Disney cruises is that it's only for kids and it's just a bunch of characters on a standard boat.

There are stage shows, first run movies (including some in 3D), game shows and other cool family activities in Studio Sea, deck parties, awesome restaurants, and on and on. For people your age, there is a teen club in one of the smoke stacks where they only let teens go. They host a ton of activities there. For your parents, there is a really nice spa and salon, nightclubs and lounges, and an exclusive romantic restaurant.

Basically, if the Disney cruises do one thing really well, it's catering to all the age demographics.

I'm not saying Disney cruises are better than competing cruise lines (and they certainly are more expensive than other cruises) but it's definitely a fun experience, especially if it's coupled with a few days at WDW.

And if you are wondering if I get paid to say this...yes I do.

Anyway, back on topic...Robb and Elissa's cruise looks fantastic. When I was doing research on that boat, I was blown away by all that activities they packed on there. Incredible!

Also, this pic...

My Domo is super fucking jealous right now!!

Did you get Joey to make the Joey noise this year?

One question before I forget. Is there things to do for the entire family on the disney cruise, or is it just things for kids? We are taking our whole family, and I want us all to have fun.

The question I would have back for you is "how old is everyone in your group?"

I will let Elissa elaborate more, but I know her biggest complaint was that when she did the Disney Cruise she was 19 at the time and there wasn't enough to do in her age group to keep her occupied.

We are waiting until KidTums is at least 3, probably 4 years old to do the Disney cruise because from my research there just isn't enough to do on the Disney cruise unless you have kids.

Now granted, this comes from an opinion of someone who has ONLY been on cruises where there is more "adult" stuff to do (casinos, dance clubs, lots of alcohol, shows with some crude humor and a bit of T&A, etc, etc...)

But I've also heard that the Disney Cruise is one of the nicest cruise lines you can do so it is something I'm looking forward to taking KidTums on.

I'm not sure they can really be compared but it would seem that a Disney Cruise is *VERY* different from a Royal Carribean, Carnival, NCL, Princess, etc, type of cruise. Perhaps if you're looking for something that everyone in your family can do (again, give us ages to be able to respond better) maybe 4 or 5 days at WDW then a week long cruise might be the thing to look into?

Elissa can speak about this more since she's done them all and at different ages....
