Going to go kind of off-topic now. What does the Flash Pass do for you? And what does Gold get you above the Standard version? $62 on top of your entrance fee sounds expensive.

Please ask this question in our general SFMM discussion thread. This thread is about Terminator.

One question I did ask Tim at WCB was if the heavier weight of the themed Millennium Flyer trains would have an impact on the ride over time, and he gave me a resounding "NO!" Of course, if you remember Psyclone's relatively light structure vs. Terminator's dense structure, I will agree with him. In effect, he said that even though Psyclone's trains were too heavy, it was the lack of suppoft structure that did that ride in.

Now I'm not too worried about Terminator's trains, even if they have the heavy sound system aboard as well as additional stuff attached to the cars.

That's one good looking roller coaster. My only problem with the ride is the same problem I had with it when it was just a rumor: WTF IS UP WITH THE TERMINATOR ROLLER COASTER BEING A WOODIE!?! Nothing screams robots more than wood!

At WCB Tim said that the pre shows would make it all make sense as to why it is a wooden coaster and not a steel coaster.

Ok, I'll be very interested to hear how it's explained. It is a good looking coaster, though.

^^ Very nice. Funny thing---in looking at Terminator pictures taken from the Sky Tower, Terminator appeared to me to cover a larger ground area than Psyclone did. However, this comparison shows that they are about the same size.

^ To me, Terminator's lift hill appears to be about 25-30 degrees---just about the normal angle for a lift hill. Psyclone's was about 30, and I think the one on Colossus is between 20 and 25.

Two things: Why is policies spelled that way on the flash pass sign? And for any of those who attended the second Terminator tour at WCB at 11:15, I asked Tim if everything would be in place (all theming rather than getting it in stages) when the ride was scheduled to open on May 21st, and Tim's response was "if it's not then you can ask my successor what happened." Tells you a lot about how serious they are on getting the thing up and running on time.

I don't know about all of you, but that would be a loss across the board for us, the park management and Magic Mountain in general.

Dude, he was joking.

I highly doubt they would fire some one who has worked at the park for 20+ years because a few thematic elements were not ready for opening.

He has gone from Revolution ride operator to General Manager, I think its safe to say Tim will be at the park for many years to come.

I know he was joking... I just think that shows you the level of commitment he has to the fans out there and the date they are sticking to. On another Terminator note, doesn't it seem like 16 passenger trains are kind of small? Is this something to do with the theming of the trains? Are they that much heavier? Most GCI coasters I have seen are 24 passenger.

^ I think Tim just didn't have the trains' capacity right in front of his brain.

One thing about the Looney Tunes---remember that they're a product of their era, the '30s, '40s, and '50s. Back then, things were more conservative and fewer people took offense to such things.

As for a Thursday, May 21 media day, I've attended many Thursday media days. Oftentimes, the ride will open the next day (Friday) for the weekend. Remember what the media day is for---to get footage for news broadcasts of the "forthcoming" ride. You'll see Terminator running on the 11pm news as "opening tomorrow at Six Flags Magic Mountain."

Done.

The only reason I asked questions about Flash Pass in the Terminator thread, is because you posted pictures of Flash Pass in the Terminator thread. Maybe they should have gone in the general SFMM thread as well.....

Not sure if this is common knowledge but GCI has redesigned their trains to be lighter than the first-gen models.

I believe he meant to imply that a themed train, presumably with rumored onboard audio and whatever else they chose to add to enhance the theme, would be heavier than a run of the mill train.

My judgement is that Terminator is no longer (meaning from the turn after lift to the turnaround at the other end) than Psyclone, but it is definitely a bit wider. A lot of track seems to occupy the former transfer track area and possibly even over to the drainage dish that borders the back of the shops.

That being said, I was at the park today and realized that Terminator just looks better and better every time I see it in person.

Sincerely,

R.C.
