ethans_dad06
I don't think there will be many problems with the on board audio system, other than maybe normal wear and tear. As far as the deadline goes, I'm sure they will do extra hours to better their chances if they feel they are behind. Now my personal opinion is that they are on schedule. You would be suprised at what construction workers can pull off when a deadline is approaching. They have a little over a month left and probably 90% of the structure is complete. The station, pre show buildings and themeing can all be done at the same time. I remember when Thomas town was nearing it's deadline and looked as if they weren't going to open on time? Then it seemed like overnight it just popped up and was ready to go! I think we are in for a few exciting weeks of construction ahead of us! DiSab
^To add to that, the crew building Diamondback did work well into the night and on weekends on several occasions to be sure the ride's structure was completed on time. I'm sure that if the crew building Terminator needs to, they'll work extra hours to get it finished on time.
packfanlv
I am not sure if anyone has posted this yet but has anyone realized that every coaster that has been in the spot of Terminator has been taken down? It is kind of like a cursed area every ride that has been there has been brought down. It probably will not happen with Terminator because it is going to be a kick butt GCI. Â Well in order for them to build a coaster in that location, then every other coaster that has previously occupied that spot would have had to be torn down. I don't think they could build Terminator on top of Psyclone.
Bolliger&Mabillard
^But it sure would have looked cool to try.

ebl
I was one of the ones who thought that the ground was unstable in that area. However, if the ground was so unstable, why have four coasters been built there? Â This has been answered, more or less. The Sarajevo Bobsleds lasted two seasons and was moved to SFOT. I'm not sure if the ride itself was part of the ride rotation program or if they just moved it to make way for ShockWave. Â ShockWave was definitely a ride meant for a short time, and after only two seasons was shipped off to SFGAd, then to AstroWorld. Â Psyclone was a Dinn-Summers woodie and not built very well, which apparently is a characteristic of their rides given what I've heard about Predator at Darien Lake and others. Â Terminator should be different, and be around for many years. Â Eric
Calicoasters
^^Looking at all the effort going into Terminator, I would say it's the first permanent attraction built on that side of the river. I for one would like to see the giant Hamburger/Plane come back. I can't wait to see how much is done on the coaster Sunday!
ebl
^ Remember that Sunday is Easter. I doubt anyone will be working on it that day. Â Also, Psyclone was meant to be permanent, but it tore itself apart. Â Eric

Six Flags Enthuseast
^^Well, it tore itself apart along with the Northridge Earthquake. It was good before the earthquake, I've heard, but it was crap after the quake. DANG YOU EARTH!!!
ebl
^ The quake did have some impact on Psyclone, but because it wasn't built very well in the first place, it was just a matter of time before it went to crap. Â Eric
Top Thrill Dragster
I think what ultimately did the ride in were the trains. If the ride were running PTC trains, I think it would still be in operation today.
ebl
^ According to Tim Burkhart at West Coast Bash, the trains were indeed quite heavy, but he said what did in Psyclone was its poor construction. Â Eric
Calicoasters
I'm sure if the B&M trains were to blame for anything they wouldn't be on Colossus every October! I still can't get over that Tim said there would only be 8 cars (16 people) on Terminator! I'm hoping this doesn't drive the wait up too much! ebl
^ He did say something about Terminator's capacity of 800 people per hour, so I'd guess we're getting the standard 12-car trains. Honestly (and hopefully) I think he wasn't sure about the exact train capacity. Chances are, he got the "eight cars" from the standard B&M trains of eight cars (except their hypers, which have nine, but we don't have anything like that at SFMM). Scarlet Spider 23
Cars can also have multiple rows.
ebl
^ Very true, and that's what PTC, Morgan, and a few others have. But Millennium Flyers are single-row cars with two seats. Â Eric
Calicoasters
^ He specifically said 8 cars, 16 people. MF cars are only single row. But yeah, I totally hope he was wrong! Doesn't every other GCI with flyers have 12 cars? Â Â 5:00 minutes into it.
ebl
^ Interesting...I don't recall hearing the "16 passenger" part---and I went to two different sessions. He did say "eight cars," but in a sort of unsure way. Â But the standard Millennium Flyers are 12-car trains. Â Eric
Six Flags Enthuseast
^I believe Terminator's station will be a little shorter due to the amount of space the overall coaster will take up. I've noticed that the brake sections are a little bit shorter than on standard Millenium Flyer coasters. Coasters are sometimes designed around their train type, and I can sort of see it in this on.....
X2coasterfreak
Ok I might be wrong on this, but I remember Tim saying that the trains will be different than the original Millennium Flyer trains. Was that just the front of the train he was talking about, and/or the passengers it can hold?

I tend to think that the B&M trains were too heavy for Psyclone's meager and poorly built structure but they are probably not too heavy for Colossus' structure. It seems to me like that ride was built really tough and once they fix the roughness, I'd like to see them run one side backwards all year.  As people have said, Psyclone's downfall was poor construction (one of my crew members on that ride could shake the southern turnaround just by grabbing the wood and shaking), Northridge Earthquake and the trains that were way too heavy for the ride. If they could have fixed all that and bought PTC's for that ride... Psyclone could have been a great ride again.  Sincerely, R.C.
ebl
^ I've often wondered how well Psyclone's mirror-image twin, the Georgia Cyclone, is holding up these days. As far as I know, its construction is essentially the same as Psyclone's was, but it runs PTC trains and has since its debut in 1990. What a job they did, though, since Viper reminded me of Psyclone and made me wish that Psyclone was a clone of Viper's construction.  Sincerely, R.C. CoasterGuy06
^^Georgia Cyclone was running well last summer, although it would have been much better if the trains had softer padding instead of the hard foam they currently have.
