Tele2 Insane, Intamin ZacSpin for Gröna Lund

Recommended Posts

^Thanks for posting that. I hate to say it, but the ride isn't nearly as cool as I thought it'd be. All of that braking just killed any sort of pacing and the cars don't seem to rotate all that much. IMO the car spent way too much time on that middle brake.

It's still a unique little ride for a small park, but it just seems too stop-and-go for a ride named "Insane". Maybe it's just like this temporarily.

Wow...that ride looks terrible. I know you shouldn't pass judgment before you ride something, but this has terrible pacing along with few flips. Honestly, after watching the POV, it seems like it would be miserably rough if it went much faster. I definitely wouldn't mind seeing an Intamin model similar to X but these small coasters aren't too impressive.

WOW - First, thank you for the link and video. I also agree that the length of time on the brake run is too long and the pacing does appear horrible. With that said, the ride isn't even open yet, so I'm sure adjustments will be made. They almost have to be made if the ride is going to have any capacity. imo.

Well I think it's reasonable to slow down the car that much, the turns are so tight that it really does need to be braked. The problem IMO is how much time the car sits on the brakes. It needs to be slowed down, but it doesn't need to stay slow for so long.

I don't like the fact that it slows down so much but I also don't think this will be a tame coaster by any means. Each of those drops will be crazy and I still think it looks like fun for the rest. Could just be me, but I don't think this was a bad investment by the park at all. Again, its not TTD or DB, but its also not something small and cheesy.

Why are they testing the ride with riders with one train and the other isn't even complete yet?

Thanks for the videos!

After riding Inferno at Terra Mitica, I have to say that This doesn't look as intense! I understand that Inferno is a lot smaller so does not need to have block sections however the speed that Inferno goes round its first drop is higher than the same drop on Insane. Maybe it is just being run in at the moment, but honestly when you are on the outward facing seat, that first drop is immense!

Will have to wait and see I think

Andrew.

Love the unpainted plywood at the end, coming back into the station...

The ultra-slow braking looks a bit much.

But hey - it's a New Credit!

Looking forward to riding it in June.

I am not sure what the draw of this coaster is? From what I have seen on other zecspins, a lot of the entertainment comes from the rapid inversions and changes in direction. However, this coaster does not have many inversions if any at all. Also, they brake the coaster during most of the direction changes and practically drop you over the edge instead of "throw" you over. Overall, this coaster does not appear to be nearly as entertaining as it could have been.

I guess the park didn't need a great attraction to have as low a capacity as the Intamin ZacSpin's have. Too many people waiting in line...

^ He might have done that on the way back, but I guess that it's much safer in the track rather then on it.

Oh and another car have just stalled on the same location, I think that they might have to remove one trim to get it working better.

One car stalled today again during testing...

And instead of getting a crane to hoist a man basket to the car, they had an employee to crawl out through the track

Another Intamin FAIL?

Does anyone else notice that the lift isn't like a perfect round lift? It looks like it was in pieces and you can tell where they put it together.

That's actually just the picture screwing it up. It's more round than what the picture is showing. Look at the wavy support legs.

It would have been enough with a light braking. It feels as they want to extend the ride. But I have never ride a ZacSpin-coaster before, so I have nothing to compare with.

They also slow down little before the first hill. But as you go over the water raises the scary safety factor.
