theyd Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I knew I had to show you guy's the moment I saw this. Oh screw Bench: the Ride How about NASCAR: the Ride
Disney Dood Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Who would have thought, now roller coasters can't even escape advertising... It's not like it looks good, and what does mindbending have to do with NASCAR?
dougstanton Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Being my home park, I can tell you they are no longer like that. If you look at the advertisement on the front, the show ended July 12th. It was essentially a shrink wrap that came off easily. Towards the end it looked bad due to so many people picking at it.
sam06pr Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 ugh!!!!!!!!!!!! WTF??? EWWW!!! is SF that desperate to get money? lol I hope is for a short while. Hopefully until the end of the season.
ebl Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 "...what does mindbending have to do with NASCAR?" (Disney Dood) NASCAR bends the mind... Eric
ginzo Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Wasn't there already a thread about this? I *love* Mind Bender, but I just don't see this as being that big of a deal. I mean it's got that hideous vomit green paint job as it is. A little NASCAR isn't going to make it that much uglier. Besides, consider it theming, Georgia style. BTW, that's a really nice action shot of the ride. It really illustrates the white knuckle fun of it.
coasterfreak101 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 ^^^Read two comments above you. They're already gone now that the show's over. Meh, whatcha gonna do? If this is how Six Flags needs to make money, so be it. It could be worse.
ebl Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 I have to admit that all of you in Georgia are fortunate that your Schwarzkopf looper still runs with only a lap bar. Here in California...well, it's different... Eric
TheStig Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 ^But atleast the trains in CA look effing awesome!
dragsterfan420 Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 What's wrong with a little bit of advertisement on a ride? Aren't rides just big advertisements fro parks to make more money?
larrygator Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 The same people who criticize SF for this are probably the same people who would complain if ticket prices were raised. Everyone should be thrilled they are finding alternative revenue streams. Luckily, Disney would never allow a corporate sponsor. Oh, forget that.
TC Ridesalot Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 Why is everybody surprised about this. It has been happening for a long time already. The "Pepsi Big One" Hello!
gk Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 For a temporary change - no big deal at all. It's not like the "Riddler" paintjob is beautiful.
Jew Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 ^^Why is that? His ride is still so popular with guests 30 years after it opened that the park was able to sell advertising on it.
PKI Jizzman Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 You're welcome for the pic Mindbender was....great! Lap bars rule.
dammie16@vt.edu Posted August 8, 2008 Posted August 8, 2008 If you check out my TR from last sat. here http://www.themeparkreview.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=45349&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0 You can see the trains are no longer like that. I didn't think to pay attention for it because I did notice the ads when i went in June but I know for sure that both trains running were ad free this time.
MixedDrink Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 is SF that desperate to get money? Oh most definitely
SFOGdude25 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Those are gone now. I was at SFOG at the end of July, and they are back to the same old awesome Riddler scheme.
astroworldfan1 Posted August 10, 2008 Posted August 10, 2008 Did Mind Bender get new lap bars? I don't recall seeing those when I was there last October. They might be from the new train from Astroworld. -Tatum
