"Hey mom, I'm on Theme Park Review!" Thats me on the under side of the train (3rd row) on the right side of the photo.

My overall take on the ride was it was pretty awesome. The effects definitely enhanced the experience, the music was well done, and even the fire kind of caught me by surprise when I knew it was coming. My "GP" friends were absolutely floored by how awesome the ride was. Props to SFMM for sprucing up its (IMO) best ride!

We'll be back to ride it again with more people next weekend.

Wow! Looks like a great ride. I can bet the fire fx won't last too long.... I went to SFMM in March. Last time I was there was 1995! Gee, they cleaned up the place, where are all the gang members threatening people and line cutting?

Just a quick note to those who were there this morning just after breakfast at Mooseburger when I suddenly fell ill and passed out (and it definitely wasn't from the food, I have not had a breakfast that good in a long time!) and had to go to First Aid instread of the morning ERT. I'm fine now; the whole thing just freaked me out and embarrassed me more than anything. Was just the end result of my electing to drink soda and coffee instead of water last night and getting dehydrated. That's never happened to me before. (Let it be a lesson to those who don't drink enough water-it really does have an adverse effect!)

One never wants to have to report on an experience of First Aid treatment at a park but I am happy to report that the park knows their stuff in that department as well. The staff made sure I got the care I needed and Jay even stopped in to see how I was doing. I got out of First Aid about 11 and a very nice employee by the name of Breanna took me to get my stuff and get it to my car.

I came back into the park and after getting a bottled water, walked around and looked for people, and I did run into someone from the campout who told me about the wristbands being good for X2 today but at that point I was still feeling a little under the weather so I did what I had planned to do after morning ERT and went out to my car and rested for a while. I'm back in the park, got some Flash Passes and ready to enjoy the rest of the evening.

I'll add to what everyone else has been saying-the entire event was absolutely fantastic and once again, SFMM has exceeded my expectations-not just with the bangup makeover Tim orchestrated on X2 but the continued overall improvements Jay and his team have brought the park, and putting on yet another awesome event.

I know all of the improvment to the park that is happening is a work in progress, but it's coming together very well.

It looks like a lot of fun, too bad our trip out west was spoiled because a kid is on the way! Oh well, some day I'll take the kid out there and say, "I could have been on this when it opened, but because of you, I had to stay in Orlando."

Stinks the Otown parks don't do campouts. Well, if you think about it, if Universal held one, we'd all hit Pat O'Brien's and get wasted, if Disney held one, We'd hit PI and get wasted, and if Shamu held one, they would give us free beer and we'd all get wasted! Please Otown parks, have a campout!

Wow that must have been a great event!

I cannot say enough great things about Jay and Tim and what they have done with this park. I'm really impressed by how they have reached out to the enthusiast community and shown their appreciation.

Jay kind of reminds me of Uncle Dave in Beverly Hills Cop 3...everybody loves him!

Hey everyone we just left the park and are now on our way back to Vegas. All I can say is wow! This has been one of the best trips I have ever had to the mountain. Everything from the parks operations to the amazing hospitality provided by the park! This trip and camp out will be something I am sure to never forget.

Again I would like to extend the biggest bit of gratitude to the parks management and employees! This was such an amazing event! Everyone you must get to the mountain and get on X2! It is not to be missed! I will post my photos and trip report when I get back to Vegas. To those who went it was a pleasure meeting you all and I hope we can all meet again soon!

Actually, they were quite well with the security at X2 today. They had about...I would guess..10 security guards over at X2. Walking the line, at the entrance, at the exit, at the grouping, at the separation. You name it, security was there.

I just got home about an hour ago.

I am DEAD! I rode X2 a total of 20 times! I didn't even go on any other ride. It seems that every time I have gone to SFMM in the past 6 months, my experience gets better and better. They really have a great management team there, and the employees are pleasant and look happy to work there. Night Time ERT on X2 was AMAZING as I posted before. And the fact that we all got to have a Flashpass for X2 for the ENTIRE DAY today was just...the icing on the cake to a great experience on X2. The musical selection goes well with the ride, especially the added sound effects they have and sayings. The fog, the fire, the mist, the lights, and the " Back Row, inside seat that is smoother than Scream" did NOT dissapoint. Sure, there were times where I felt like my back had been rearanged, but not as bad as the Old X. At times, the dispatching was perfect. One train left, and another would be arriving in, just in time. They really chose great employees to work this fast-paced environment.

For those of you that whinned about the $50 price being overpriced, wow...did you miss out! I understand that it is quite pricey, but let's see what we got for $50 shall we:

1) Overnight parking(hey, if you want to pay $15 a day, fine by me!)

2) Night Time ERT for a good 90 minutes.

3) Doughnuts, coffee, soda, and internet all provided with great hospitality.

4) Park entrance the next day.(a $26.99 value online)

5) Breakfast(none of that cheapy stuff. They had biscuits and gravy ya'll!)

6) 20 minutes of morning ERT

7) UNLIMITED rides on X2 all day long!!!!

I'd say the $50 was WELL spent! Today and yesterday was TOTALLY worth $50!

THANK YOU to Jay, Neal, Tim and all the employees that worked late last night and hard today to accomodate us! Magic Mountain is on it's way to being a park that you WANT to visit!

So I'm back!

I did not campout so I waited a little under 3 hours to ride. I got placed in the back row. Now unfortunetly the music did not play on my run, but the fire and fog did. Because I was in the back row, the fire was intense and it crossed the track after we passed. It felt much smoother than before and I did not hit my head once. They were only running two of the three trains. The loading and unloading felt a little bit faster, but no by much. Also, the TV's in the queue were showing people wiping out in Xtreme sports, which is fun to watch. I heard the ride had broken down for short periods of time throughout the day. In fact, the train I was supposed to get on had to be launched without and passengers becasue the gates would not open.

I did not grab pics because I did not want to pay for a locker.

Overall the ride was awsome and way better than ever!

Thanks to all for the great postings, so far, of the campout experience and all of today's events. I wish I could have made it. I'll be there June 1st for the ACE day (I know a lot of TPR'rs have some feelings about ACE'rs) but it the soonest I can get there. We get two hours of pre-public ERT and at least 90 minutes of post-public night ERT, but they say X2 is only ERT for the morning. I will have to wait in line to see it at night I guess.

^ What are you talking about??

In the video you posted, Jay Thomas said something like "(In the morning)you won't be riding alone, you'll have that for your ERT time." I also heard that morning ERT was only 20 minutes, not the hour as previously stated. I was just wondering about that, no biggie.

I am SO JEALOUS of all of you who went to the campout. X2 sounds AWSOME!!! I love the pics of the fire effects!!! You luckys. ERT all day. Wow. I so wish I could have been there! I will deffinately get to go on X2 this summer. I SO can't wait to go on it. I do not want to be stuck in almost a 3 hour line. If I run to X2 right after opening, will I get right on? I love all the pics. I'm getting more & more excited!

Oh, I think when he said something like "You won't have morning ERT alone" he meant that the morning ERT wouldn't be the only ERT.

The morning ERT was cut short because it took longer to get the ride up and running, BUT to compesate for that anyone who had a campout wristband could go through the FlashPass line without waiting.

I know some people at the campout got 20 rides in so I'm sure people got their fill.

We just got back from the park and spoke to many people including Neal and Jay about how today went. Here are some answers to the questions -

1. How long was the line for X2 at its longest? Was it 2 train operation the entire day? Any idea what the average dispatch intervals were?

The line was 2 - 3 hours all day today. They did keep the line open until park closing. Two trains ran all day today. Dispatch intervals seems fairly quick, about an average of 3 minutes I'd say. We noted that X2 seemed to be dispatching quite a lot.

2. How long were the rest of the lines?

Fairly minimal, at least at 8:00pm tonight.

I just got home, I was at the park until 10:15 and then spent about an hour in the terrible jam up in between the park and the freeway.

I can't really judge how long all the lines were. The only rides I ended up riding after I got back into the park around 2:30-3 were Sky Tower so I could see the museum in the daytime, X2, Tatsu twice, and Scream twice (and after riding Scream and then X2 immediately afterwards, I reiterate again that saying that X2 runs smoother than Scream is a very accurate statement!) Tatsu was a 25 minute wait with FlashPass, Scream about 10 min. Tatsu seemed to be moving slowly; I was trying to get in line for one final X2 ride but just missed the 10:00 cutoff for line closure as I got in line for Tatsu FlashPass at 9:25.

The X2 crew seemed to be doing a really good job of moving the dispatches along and doing all they could to make the loading and unloading more efficient, not to mention that they were doing things I had not seen the original X crew doing such as asking people "Are you ready?" before dispatching and "How was your ride?" when they returned and instructing oncoming riders how to fasten restraints and directing offloading riders to the exit. Numerous times I witnessed one train dispatch as another was just pulling into the old unload area.

The GP is absolutely eating the ride up; every time I rode this afternoon/evening every train returned applauding and cheering, everyone I ended up riding with loved it, and I overheard a ton of comments along the lines of how awesome people thought it was including one girl who said upon returning to the station, "Now THAT's a rollercoaster."

One other thing I noticed on the last ride I had on X2 tonight; maybe it was there last night and I just didn't notice-but there were four spotlights arranged to display an "X" in the sky, visible from the lift hill. Nice touch!
