Mr Stratosphere
I just signed up and everything is a go! I was just really impressed with who I talked to on the phone, she was really nice, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I don't remember her name. But anyways Kudos to them! It's nice to hear some enthusiasm from their employees! John
elw81
It just seems that when you can get tickets online for 26.99, the extra 23 dollars for the event isn't getting you a whole lot. Is an hour on X2 worth 23 dollars? Too me it isn't. I could understand maybe 10 dollars. Maybe it's the fact that parking is included that makes it seem too costly. But I know a lot of people already have parking included on their pass, or would car pool. There should be a discount for that.
TheRealTinkerbell
she was really nice, friendly and helpful. Unfortunately I don't remember her name. It was probably the same lady I talked to yesterday...Joanie I believe is her name. She was so sweet. My card was giving me problems and instead of putting me on hold for 20 minutes, she hung up, and called me back to tell me that it was approved. She was awesome! It sounds like it will be fun, but $50 for an hour of ERT and breakfast seems a little steep. It looks like marketing is aiming this at the general public--sort of like the SD Wild Animal Park does with the Roar & Snore. Hopefully people in the know will post something if there are extras planned for the event that aren't being advertised.
PeoplemoverMatt
I'm afraid I'm going to have join the 'I can't pay $50 for this' crowd. First of all, call me spoiled from events in the past, but, I can't see how it's worth it to me to spend $50 for ERT on one ride when I already have a pass that includes parking, flash passes, and admission. Second, like others have said, this pales in comparison to the Tatsu overnighter. The $50 looks even worse when this is put up against that event, which was for a totally new coaster, unlike X2. Add the fact that I haven't had a job for a while and it adds up to NO for me. Hope everyone who does go has fun. I think I'll check out the photos n' stuff and ride X2 whenever I get a chance to. -- PMM
sixflagsjunkie88
I am now officially not going as, I am going that day regardless, and I need to save up all my money and I got a new pass which has not been used. If I am going the 24 just for X2 like I am, I can handle a wait in line. It is a beautiful thing called text messaging that saves you in line when you are alone, that and my ZUNE. Aaronkv
I rarely get a chance to go to Magic Mountain anymore because of my job and i moved down to San Diego so its a bit of a drive. Thats another reason why i am going. I only go 2 times a year so thats only 2 rides on X with the long lines. So this will be worth it for me! Another plus I'm seeing that not many people want to fork out $50. Means less people, if there is only 50-60 people that would be ideal! 2 trains op we would never have to get off but to switch seats. But I'm sure there will be more people. I can dream of getting 10-15 rides on it in an hour. That would be great! Although i want there to be a good turnout for MM sake. We'll see, I'm going to have a great time no matter what! gisco
Is $50 expensive? Yes, that is the whole idea. They want a small group that is willing to shell out the money to be the first to ride. If it was cheap or free then the group would be huge and it wouldn't be much in the way of ERT. I can see this being kind of cool because the group will be small and we will probably get more rides then we want. I think I'm talking myself into this. I wonder if they will be running 3 trains? sixflagsmagicmountain
I agree that the Tatsu campout was amazing, and this will probably not match it. However I really want to go, and I'll give SFMM the benefit of the doubt here. $50 is a little steep, but as previously mentioned, it will keep the crowd small. I'm not 100% sure if I can go yet, but I'm going to make every effort to make it.
ajinaz
We are also considering this but I need some clarification. Can someone tell me how the flash pass with the extreme season pass works? Can I only use them on four different rides or can I use them for four rides on X2? Can I share them with someone else? When we first heard about this camp out we began to plan to purchase 1 extreme season pass for me and a regular season pass for my daughter. We would drive out on Friday morning and hit the park for Friday for a few hours , do the sleep out, ride X2 and then at 10 head to the other side of the park while the GP went to X2 and try to hit as many rides as possible before they catch up with us. However, now that we found we couldn't use the passes for the camp-out we are not sure what to do. It would actually be cheaper to buy two extreme passes and go Friday for a few hours and then go in at 10 on Saturday and head to the other side of the park and work back to X2 and use our flash pass (or passes). This all depends on how the flash pass works though. Can any one clarify?
SharkTums
I'd love to help you out but I don't think we know if X2 will have Flashpass on it or not. Tim told us at West Coast Bash that it would have Flashpass, but on the website it doesn't say that it will! Any SFMM people reading this care to help? Top Thrill Dragster
^^ Flash Passes are good for four different rides or four rides on one ride. Yes, you can share flash passes, but one Flashpass is good for one person. So if you and your daughter were to share four Flashpasses you could only ride two different rides together or ride one ride twice.
winningfreak
I have the Xtreme playpass and I have visited the park 3 times this year. It is a good deal if you visit Magic Mountain alot if not then it isnt. the playpass extra stuff (flashpasses exc... ) are not valid at other six flags parks (I tryed at SFFT) P.s. If you go to another park the people stair at your pass because they have never seen it. someone at SFFT thought I was rich and asked me for money lol. DegoRed
When I called the park, I spoke to Guest Relations. They said X2 was definitely NOT going to use flash passes...at least through this summer. I really wanted to ask to speak to Neal, but decided against it, so who knows if that really is the case. I'm hoping not. I'd love to use my extreme pass and those 4 flash passes for 2 rides on X2 and Tatsu with someone each time I go there
winningfreak
^ IT will be they where advertising it trying to sell more Xtreme passes... also if you bought your pass before march you got a front of the link coupon for June.
dino
Hmm...Me and my bro are on the fence about the event still. I was a no at first, but Aaronkv made a good point about not making it out to MM often. I don't really go to MM much and if I don't go to this event I don't know when I'll go next. Plus I still need the X credit. So I guess I'll figure it out this weekend... PeoplemoverMatt
Curious about something Elissa hinted at... Elissa said Magic Mountain didn't give TPR the same kind of deal for this that was given for the Tatsu campout. So I'm a little curious as to what's up with that and why the park wants to charge $50 for this and NOT allow Season Passes to be used for admission. Not asking out of any sort of bitterness, just asking out of curiosity. Can anything about this be shared?

So I'm a little curious as to what's up with that and why the park wants to charge $50 for this and NOT allow Season Passes to be used for admission. Not asking out of any sort of bitterness, just asking out of curiosity. Can anything about this be shared? I can share with you a bit of the history behind it at least - In 2006 the park did something similar for Tatsu's media day, there wasn't a charge for it, and it was open to anyone who wanted to camp out. We figured it would be cool to get some TPR members to all group together and do this! So we said that anyone who wanted to join TPR's group at the campout, Elissa and I would spring for pizza and a "camp shirt" and we'd bring games and stuff. We had NO IDEA we'd get a response of 170 members from TPR in attendance! In fact, I think TPR must have been the only group to really promote this, because there were like nearly 200 of us, and *maybe* like 20 people from various other groups. They ended up starting the media event around 4am and I think most everyone rode Tatsu almost continuously for about 6 hours! It was quite an amazing event! Here are the photos: http://www.themeparkreview.com/tatsumediaday/tatsumediaday1.htm Needless to say it as an AWESOME time had by all. With all the coverage we were giving X2 this year we asked the park if they were planning to do something similar because I think TPR members would have love to repeat that Tatsu experience, and they said they would give us the details as soon as they were ready. This year they opted to charge for the event and do it for the ride's opening day instead of media day. I'm not sure if $50 is the right price point. I guess we will see by the turn out of the event. Then again I'm not sure if the goal of this was to get a very small group of people that get to ride a LOT for an hour, or to have had more people to show their support. Either way I'm sure the camp out will be fun. What Elissa was eluding to is that due to the $50 price point, it makes it impossible for us to add any "TPR personality" or do the types of things we did for Tatsu since there won't be as many people, and we can't really ask TPR members to pitch a bit more cash for extras like T-Shirts or food when it's already costing $50 a head. --Robb
Mr Stratosphere
^ Yeah the Tatsu Camp Out will be something that I will never forget, it was such a great time! But I am still looking forward to the X2 camp out, I was willing to put up 50 bucks for it, and I think its great that the park is even doing something like this. Even though I had to pay for it, I'm thankful for the chance just to be a part of it!. On another note, has anyone renewed their Play Pass online? Do they actually send you your pass in the mail and you don't have to go to processing at the park? John
Aaronkv
^ I did it that way a couple years ago and they sent it in the mail. I think i had the option of choosing if i wanted to do it at the park too. But they will only send it through the mail if you had a pass the year before, you will have to go to the park if its 2 years or older. I'm not sure if they still do it though, i don't see why they wouldn't. See you at the camp out! Aaron
TheRealTinkerbell
Sleep under the stars in the picnic area starting at 10:00 p.m. and get a sneak peek of X2! Is the picnic area going to be the same area we were at for WCB or the Grand Pavilion area?
