You know, I must say. I'm really glad SFOG still has their log flume. It's a nice reminder of the old days. Those rides are just plain fun to me, even if they don't get you very wet.

Nice pics so far!

though, to be fair, Indian Beach does something similar on Cornball and no one seems to give a damn.

Good point, Jow.

On the other hand, at least their Sprite advertisements are less obnoxious and are on a ride with no theming. If Six Flags did it to Scorcher or Cyclone, or even Goliath, I wouldn't care that much. Hell, given that Goliath seems to have some vague, mysterious car theme, it might even fit that! But they chose to do a ride that is deep in the most heavily themed section of the park! WHYYYY!?

Honestly, if they picked one of those other rides, I probably wouldn't give a damn, either. I'd probably find it funny actually, especially on Goliath! I'll at least give SF credit though, for trying so hard to get out of debt and improve the parks.

^Ha...nice. Check out the girl on the second row far right. Someone had too much of the park's pizza LOL.

EDIT: Never mind. The photo was deleted. It sure was funny.

Thought this was Goliath, not Hurler.

Mindbender is just defiled. That advertising doesn't tie in with Gotham City at all. With all the signs, park maps, coupons, photo spots, and other park advertising, are vinyls on a coaster train really necessary? Talk about Add-Nauseum! /end rant

Back to the truly important part of this TR, the pics. Wicked awesome! My camcorder is hiding in the back of the closet, in the fetal position, crying. Just gorgeous pics.

Well, our camcorder broke last vacation..and we had to really break it to get the remaining tape of my nanny and poppy's 50th anniversary out of it! So this was the first vacation with out video footage. Well, I think I made up for it!

Oh, and while we're on the Mind Bender disc; I would have done Goliath...it's got like, no theme...and you can see it from the highway! It goes all over inside and outside the park! Not Mind Bender...it's tucked away in the trees!

Onto the photos! Thanks so much for the comments, guys!

Goliath really stands out. It starts out in the middle of the park...

And head into the trees.

Then go wayyy up and wayyy down over the pretty lake...

It's B&M wrapped around B&M goodness.

It's so much better than it looks....so yeah, it's pretty damn good!

I don't know about these guys...

But I just love putting my hands up!

If you're happy and you know it raise your hands! Orr...pop your collar?

That guy is so comfortable, he's stretching out for a nap. Or, he's all like...OMFG, THIS IS AWESOME!

Weee loooooveeeee Goliatthhhh

....STILL more to come? Keep checking back!

This is a really good trip report. I don't like what they did to Mind Bender either. I was fine with the Driving Force stuff, but not this.

And why do people really put their hands up? To me, it's kind of stupid. It's funny that people have their hands up, and than when they get to a head chopper, they put their hands down.

Why do I hold my hands up? Because I don't like holding onto the restrain to the bar in front of me. So then you're not keeping yourself in the seat, you're letting yourself be free and let the coaster do everything.

I only hold on during SoB!

Goliath =

I've only ever been on one B&M Hyper and that was Silver Star (which was quite good!) but Goliath looks 100x better!

Beautiful pictures that you took! Goliath looks awesome against that grey sky!

Time for a little Goliath break. How about some green?

Station with the foreground.

Greener than the Hulk.

Aw what the heck.....got ya from behind

It's a Nikon D40. I use a 18-55mm lens and a 55-200mm lens. It's awesome! And the battery lasts for ages! I should add a few more photos soon. I took so many!

You should see a nice Kings Island Photo TR soon

Monster Plantation - don't skip it

You also need to go on Monster Plantation, no excuses.

Monster plantation is a must

And as everybody else has said, don't miss Monster Plantation.

Don't Miss(in order IMO): Goliath, Mindbender, Georgia Scorcher, GASM, Superman, Acrophobia, Monster Plantation, Mine Train

It is a great park with this being my top five.

1. Goliath

2. Mindbender

3. GA Cyclone

4. GASM

5. Monster Plantation

I know you will all probably hate me for this...but I didn't get on the Ghost Manor or whatever. I think I saw it...but I didn't see any signs for it. I looked, but couldn't find it. Sorry guys!

I bet that new camera would've worked great in Ghost, er, um, what's the name of that again?

On the bright side, you did have time for about 1000 Goliath pics....many of which were actually pretty good. Glad you enjoyed it.

Yeah, I know, I know, I know! I remember seeing it once in the day when we just got there, and I asked everyone else if they wanted to ride it...and I was out voted for Superman. Lame, I know. Well, when I go back I'll make sure to ride it!

I went to SFoG right after Goliath opened, I guess late May 2005. It really was a great ride. I remember I went on a junior high band trip there. Naturally us coming from Miami their wasn't that many coaster lovers. It was funny because only two people, other than myself, rode it. Everyone, when we were driving into the park, was like "Holy crap...that roller coaster's gotta be 500 ft. tall." All I did was sit back and laugh. As for Minderbender, it was also great. I thought it was going to be a short time ride, but man I was wrong. It was actually my 3rd favorite right after GASM. All in all, SFoG is a great park and I plan on going their soon.

Great pictures, I just don't see why so many people adore Goliath so much (if you have ridden other B&M's).

I find Apollo's Chariot and Nitro much better rides. Goliath was fun, but wasn't all crazy and extreme like everybody claims it is. It was quite a letdown sadly.

Yeah Apollos' Chariot, I think, is better also. But for the best ride at SFoG, Goliath takes the cake.

No way! SFOG is my home park and Goliath is amazing. It is my favorite coaster out of the 83 I have ridden. I rode Apollo's Chariot last October and while I did like it, it has nothing on Goliath. I rode AC 4 times in the front and back and it didn't make a difference. There was some airtime but not anything like the 3 to 4 seconds of air time you get on every hill on Goliath. I can't wait to ride other hypers besides AC to compare, but from what I've heard Goliath rates at the very top.

I do have to agree. I just got back from a coaster trip and have ridden all of the US B&M hypers. Goliath is the best by far. Nitro was so slow I was like....don't roll back! Apollo's Chariot was fun but had no airtime like Goliath. The final bunny hills were alright but Goliath's worst airtime still beat Apollo's best.

Yeah, that's pretty much the airtime on Goliath! Just every hill, floating in your seat for 3-4 seconds! Except for that last airtime hill before the brakes. Wow!
