I don't like the way the pop-out 3d is used in theme park movies, but I do like the movies where the 3d is balanced between the two.

I still think 3D is largely a waste and rarely an enhancement.

I don't know what to think of 3D. Done right it really looks cool. But mostly I agree it adds nothing to the movie and done wrong actually takes away from the movie.

Just finished watching Hitchcock, which is the story of the making of Psycho. It's good overall. Anthony Hopkins does a good job portraying the "Master of Suspense," and knows when to pull back before becoming too "cartoony." Helen Mirren is also very good as Hitchcock's often annoyed wife, Alma.

Sounds good. I'll have to wait for it to come out to HBO to watch it.

I saw 42 this weekend, VERY good movie, and Harrison Ford did a great job as his role. Boseman was also a great role for Robinson, being a baseball player trying to get through what he had to go through. The movie had a mix of everything, humor, drama, heart, etc. and Overall, it turned out to be very good. You really get the feel of how it was to be like living in that time period, something I have not seen expressed so well since The Help. I loved it, one of my faves so far this year.

OVERALL GRADE: A+

*COMING UP NEXT FOR ME TO SEE: Iron Man 3*

Just watched Lincoln, thought it was good and Daniel Day-Lewis performance was amazing. But overall thought it was really boring and dragged. Also watched the new James Bond last week. Now I am watching all the Bonds in order. I like the new one it had an old school feel to it and also glad they brought back Q!! I like Daniel Craig as Bond, but was just not the biggest fan of his first two.

I saw Evil Dead on Friday and hated it. I was told by some its just because I hadn't seen the original, but even if that were the case, I don't like it when movies can't stand on their own (unless they're a sequel.)

I saw The Avengers last night and loved it. Robert Downey Jr. was hysterical in this movie, and the action and special effects were incredible. I still think the LotR movies are ahead, but just barely. 9/10

I saw Oblivion last Saturday: it was quite nice, not necessarily a great movie but it benefits from the really good special effects and from the great Tom Cruise acting. All in all, I would recommend it to people who like sci-fi.

I just got back from a preview screening of Monsters University and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I wasn't a huge fan of Brave and I don't think anyone liked Cars 2, so I'd have to say it was my favorite Pixar movie since Toy Story 3. Not their best film, certainly, but it was incredibly vibrant and one of their best-looking films by far. I'm not going to bother ranking it because I have far too much trouble putting Pixar movies in order of favorites!

^ Did PIXAR release a teaser for their next film? They usually do it at the beginning of their movies... Anyways I'm looking forward to MU as well, and I hope it lives up to my expectations! Since I haven't seen Monsters Inc. I guess the prequel should give me some insight...

^Interesting that you liked it. The stuff I read early about it said that you could call the 'big twist' minutes into the movie and that the ending sucked. Perhaps they actually re-edited it a bit after some screenings.

I can't stand Tom Cruise, so I won't be watching it, but I will read the detailed spoiler!

^I don't like Tom Cruise either, but he's surprisingly not annoying in this.

To be fair, it's obviously that something is "not right" from the beginning of the movie, but they did a decent job of structuring it to keep it interesting. It's not the greatest movie ever or anything, but it was a LOT better than I thought it was going to be. Plus it was awesomely loud in IMAX!

I saw 42 today.......other than the fact that some of the acting towards the beginning could have been better (I might be the only one that thinks that, though) I thought it was overall a very decent movie. Although I still think Argo was better.

^^I don't see Tom Cruise as much of a drawcard, but his last few films have been OK. I liked Mission Impossible 4 and Jack Reacher, haven't seen Oblivion yet but it looks decent.

Wow I must say I'm surprised by the number of people who don't like Tom Cruise. He may not be one of my favorite actors but I've got nothing against him, specially after these last movies.

Tom Cruise's popularity has slipped considerably, as of late, thanks to all the stuff regarding Scientology and his divorce from Katie Holmes. I've never been much of a fan of his (especially after Top Gun and the even more wretched Cocktail). He just irritates me, but I did think he was funny in Tropic Thunder.

Saw Iron Man 3 tonight. Wasn't expecting much (I found the second film disappointing) but it was actually very enjoyable. While Batman is a much more interesting character than Bruce Wayne, Tony Stark is definitely the better half of Iron Man, and there is plenty of him without the suit. But not in a "he's not wearing the suit so he's helpless" kind of way, rather Stark gets opportunities to display the kind of ingenuity he showed in the first film.

I'm probably biased because he's an Aussie, but I really enjoy watching Guy Pearce as a villain, and he's definitely in form in this one. The story is definitely more character-driven than in Iron Man 2 or The Avengers, but there are still plenty of explosions to enjoy. I saw the 2D version of the film and I doubt 3D would have added much (hopefully this fad will hurry up and go away soon...).

Anyway I'd recommend to anyone who likes superhero or action films. And, as with all films in this series, stick around until the end of the credits.
