Ok....I don't care who you are the is NO possible way you can look at a random photo and know the angle of drop! To say "From this photo the drop is obviously not 85 degrees" is nuts............the angle that the photo is taken is enough to change your perception of the drop.

They said it is an 85 degree drop...therefore....it is an 85 degree drop.

If you are familiar enough with angles, then it's pretty easy to make a fairly good guess, plus or minus a few degrees.

They said it is an 85 degree drop...therefore....it is an 85 degree drop.

Trying telling the city of Vallejo, CA that.

Anyway, I'm personally not buying the 85 degree bit. If a surveyor can prove it's 85 degrees, ok, I'll buy it. But given the various angled shots shown, it looks about 75 degrees to me, MAYBE 80 but that's probably pushing it.

Maybe the angle is relative to the ground not being totally flat.

So the people saying it wasn't 85 are right. I bet we won't notice much of a difference between 75 and 85.

It's not like they got something more important wrong, like the height.

I would love if somebody answers me to the to this question:

How come the drop is taking so long to tilt, I mean look at other B&M hypers, the drop is tilting fight after the lift, but in Behemoth, it doesn't, Am I the only one to see this??

All "tilting fast drop"

Please, I would like to know if I am crazing, or if I have a REALLY BAD SIGHT!

Thanks

I'm sure it also has a lot to do with the re-designed, longer trains. A transition like the other hypers would result in some extreme negative Gs for the riders in the back who are getting whipped over such a quick change.

Now the top half of this makes it almost look 85.

That picture is slightly tilted. The supports aren't straight. I used photoshop to rotate it until the support poles were straight, and then drew a line projected from the slope at the top. That's only 76 degrees:

"...In other news, B&M has miscalculated the lack of forces on the riders and will take an extra month to reconstruct the first drop according to enthusiast specifications."

...I'd hate to see how much bitching and moaning happens then.

I think we can expect a very different looking hyper from the typical B&Ms, as the train design will change a few things pretty noticeably.

They aren't wasting anytime getting this thing up!

That transition into the 2nd hill looks huge.

I don't think the transition looks any different from any other B&M hyper IMO.

I am probably going out on a limb here BUT Wonderland's website does state "85 degree angle of descent".....however, they did not specify which drop contains that angle. Is it possible that it is not the initial first drop that has that angle?

Posted

^ Probably doubtful.

If you look at the renderings all the other hills look more gradual, and not nearly as steep as the first drop.

Plus the transition to 85 and back again would take up a fair amount of room. Some of those drops probably wouldn't be tall enough to handle an angle like that.
