STR8FXXXINEDGE Posted September 17, 2007 Posted September 17, 2007 I wanna know how many kits it took to build this. That thing looks awesome! Â Also... does anyone know if you would get more track if you purchased 2 of the Scorpion sets, as opposed to 1 of the Dragon sets?
bblfgrd Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I just got my Statix Alpengeist and Griffon in and had to post some pics. Wow coaster dynamix guys, just wow. Photos really don't do these things justice! Â Â Â
hyyyper Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 Can't wait for my birthday, i've nearly convinced my parents buying a Dragon-kit is a good way to throw away my money.
Rugged One Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 ^^ Just curious as to how much BGE was charging for these?
FeelTheFORCE Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 I have a strange, and probably stupid, question, but oh well. Do the OTSRs go up and down, or are they stationary?
bblfgrd Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 ^^They were $32 each and $8 for shipping. Â ^Yes they do go up and down on the griffon model...no for alpengeist.
PURE Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 ^So the final verdict. Â Do you think they're worth 40 bucks a pop? Â Because for me, 40 bucks is right on the border of buyers remorse.
TheRapidsNerd Posted September 20, 2007 Posted September 20, 2007 ^^They were $32 each and $8 for shipping. Â ^Yes they do go up and down on the griffon model...no for alpengeist. Â Was there a link on the BGE site or did you call the number mentioned earlier in the thread? Â Somebody mentioned Dorney Park, and the Statix models are posted on their site in the merchandise area. Haven't seen them at SFoG yet, nor had a chance to check the other SF parks.
Jack Rimer Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 No link on BGE yet. Just call the number. Don't hold your breath on Six Flags' rides. They seem to feel that no one would want them. (Even though they ordered them 5 months ago). Our new purchasing agent didn't even know what they were when I sent her pictures. The original people we talked to loved the idea. Next thing you know, all new purchasing folks.
Ibztone Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 I thought the price was a bit steep too at first, but then I thought about what it would cost me in gas/hotel stay/park entrance fee plus money to purchase them at the park making it seem like a bargain to be able to call up and order them. That sucks about Six Flags. The batman trains would be cool. Are there any plans for a Great Bear train? Oh Arnie at Busch Gardens mentioned them getting a third product sometime in the near future?? Can you elaborate on that at all? Apollo's Chariot maybe?
Jack Rimer Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 Yup. Hopefully by November. No plans yet for Great Bear, but we haven't contacted Hershey. We will be at IAAPA in November and hopefully we will get a chance to talk to more parks there.
Ibztone Posted September 22, 2007 Posted September 22, 2007 That would be cool. I'm glad there is more coaster merchandise coming out.
Jack Rimer Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Check out the custom model: http://coasterdynamix.com/forum.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=1041 .
DarkStitch626 Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 That is looking pretty darn cool. I have got to save up for one of these Statix floorless trains when ever they become fully available.
hyyyper Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Check out the custom model: http://coasterdynamix.com/forum.aspx?mode=thread&TopicID=1041 . Â looking good, can't wait to get my hands on one of them trains
eBen Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 Have you been in contact with any British parks? Wondering if there is any interest over here. Our merchandise is terrible at the moment and needs something decent and park related like this. Â Looking forward to drilling a hole in my desk to drop a dive machine into
CD_Staff Posted October 31, 2007 Author Posted October 31, 2007 Just thought I would put up some pics of our custom Griffon model that will be with us at IAAPA. Stop by and check it out if you happen to be down there! Â Â Â Â Â
hyyyper Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 isn't IAAPA invitation only? or that you have to have something to do with amusement parks/attractions?
Ccron10 Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I think it's open to the public from what I've heard. Â That looks awesome. Is the drop going to be available to buy? Â Jack, check your PM's.
RaptorBoyASU Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 Wow.....you guys keep making these look better and better.
stormrider Posted November 1, 2007 Posted November 1, 2007 That first picture makes the model look a lot bigger than it really is
