Shockwave Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 ^Getting back into the station was my favourite part of the ride!
supermanrosfan0810 Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 Well, you'll be at CP on my birthday! I'll be there just two days later.
ParkTrips Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 ^Getting back into the station was my favourite part of the ride! haha, by that I meant the part of the ride between the midcourse and the final brake run.. I agree, getting off the ride was something to look forward to!
Vekoma Fan Boy Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 trims may actually make the return to the station more enjoyable Rough or no rough I still want to get a ride without the trims. Oh well. Maybe if there is another HW area trip when I'm 18 I'll go. I wish I could be with you guys!
Chadley Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I kept wondering if I should've packed some trunks when I was there last week. Everybody looked to be having a blast on Deluge, but stupid me didn't pack any trunks...so maybe next trip! Â Chang is still the only stand-up I've rode that I still love to ride, and Greezed Lightnin'...worth the trip each time.
Spookbaby Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 ^Getting back into the station was my favourite part of the ride! haha, by that I meant the part of the ride between the midcourse and the final brake run.. I agree, getting off the ride was something to look forward to! Â ^HAHAHAHAHA OMG JOE... now that's freaking hilarious. Â And you jerks, way to rub it in... I was on the phone with Ryan during the Kentucky Rumbler ERT, it was pretty hard to have a conversation with all the commotion that was being made! Sounds like you're having fun... see you on Sunday for sure, if not sooner. Â p.s. I hear Jahan is depressed that he's not waking up next to me Sorry roomie... maybe next year!
Golfie Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 If you hit Noah's Ark when you're in the Dells, you'll have to compare Deluge to Black Anaconda - now THAT's a long and fun ride.
THE ONE Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Hey it look's like your having the time of your lives. Rob what time are you going to be at SFGAM on Wedsnday. can't wait till you guys get here.
coaster05 Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Just got back from IB with the Midwest crew and had a blast. It was great seeing all my friends and meeting a couple new people also. Have a great week and I will see some of you at Strickers. Â Rich "hope we helped some of you in Elissa bingo" Bitner
Ed Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Â I miss Chris! Lame. Like a year till I see you again. It sucks!
WillMontu Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Here's a handful of pictures I've taken in no particular order. I have hundreds more, but will probably do a full TR later. Â Also, one word: Fascination! We also had Kentucky Rumbler ERT. We even had the good folks from GCI come out to operate the ride We had ERT on Cornball Express. While not the greatest coaster in the world, it had some nice moments of airtime Casey managed to fit into the Pinfari Death Machine at Beech Bend And there was some pounding going on We got to ride this coaster. How's it going Joe? Since there seems to be much demand, we did have ERT on the SLC! Bugs and Daffy got in a fight (you may see some video of this soon)
simlesa Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Indiana beach was very fun. They had some wacky signs around the park. I enjoyed the evening ERT on the bumper cars and Den of lost thieves, after they closed Lost Coaster due to rain. Â --Luko Cool aerial shot from the ferris wheel. Wacky signs. Couldn't make up their mind on the spelling? Is it Tiger, Tig'rr, or Tig'r'rs?
robbalvey Posted August 6, 2007 Author Posted August 6, 2007 Beech Bend rocked our world! No, it's not the biggest park in the world, but does it need to be? This has become one of our favorite "smaller parks" since we first visited last year. Â The staff is great, they have a nice selection of rides to keep you busy for a few hours, it's clean, and most importantly... Â They have Kentucky Rumbler! Â Kentucky Rumbler is a GCI wood coaster creation and one of my favorites. It was a huge hit with many people in the group and I heard "my favorite woodie of the trip" more than just a few times. Â Anyway, onto some pics. I'll post a more in depth report when we do our full updates. Â --Robb On the way back to the hotel Chris and Jahan share a "moment." Awwww..... TPR *loves* Kentucky Rumbler!!! Chris Grey was there to check lap bars....um....ahem...Chris was there to CHECK LAP BARS!!!! Jeff Pike from GCI, the cool dude who designed Rumbler was there to operate the ride for us. Thanks Jeff! Hey everyone! MORE EXCITEMENT!!!! Bob and I walking up the lift ready to scare people "Blair Witch" style. We were only supposed to have an hour of ERT, but they let us ride until they kicked us out! Yup...it's freaing DARK! Ooooh.....it has gotten dark out...now time for some REAL fun! Tex, Chris and Joe's balding head. Dane and T.J......wow, what dorks! Nadia advertizing for a dude or a good humored T-shirt from the park...you decide! Rumbler has some really good moments of airtime. And at night, it just gets better! Ross aka "Mr. Incredible" (at least that's what all the girls call him) wants to ride! "Don't you guys want to come ride me...look at how awesome I am!" Cora takes on 4 at a time!!! Wow. Joe...LOVES goats! Matteo approves....but only because of it's Italian heritage. "What is this thing doing to my body?!?!" It was time to see if the TPR Midwest trippers could survive the Pinfari looper. Rumbler is tempting us!!! We will ride you later....when it is much darker! Wes found a chair just his size.... The GCI guys were there to marathon the drop tower. "Hey Lou....how's it going?" Casey and his harem being whores....credit whores! We started our day at the Wild Mouse. Jahan's got his "I just saw boobs" face going on! When you arrive at the park, Kentucky Rumbler towers over the place.
CCJared Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Great Trip Report rob, What was Kentucky Rumbler like in tha dark?
BrownStreak Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 I am just curious to know what the nationality spread of the 100 TPR'ers is. I mean is it mostly American or did a bunch of folks from overseas hop the pond to experience a wild bunch of midwestern US parks. I'm just curious as it seems a bulk of the European trips are Americans if it would be revered for the US.

I would say that about 35% of the group come from outside the USA. The countries we have represented are Canada, UK, Scotland, Netherlands, Italy, Israel, Germany, and um....I'm sure there's more..... Â It's quite a good mix! Â --Robb
handy-andy Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Kentucky Rumbler looks awsome, must have been great at night if you can hardly see the track. Keep having fun guys.
Groteslurf Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Great update. The 'Attack of the Goats' seems to be a nice attraction
Ed Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 ^^ We were only supposed to have an hour of ERT, but they let us ride until they kicked us out! Â ... You can read right? Â The countries we have represented are Canada, UK, Scotland, Netherlands, Italy, Israel, Germany, and um....I'm sure there's more..... Â The UK And Scotland? Right...
Xtremecoaster Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 Has anyone noticed that the trip is missing "Old Man" Jeff,"Diabetic" Dan,"Weirdo" Derek and Joey?
Not For Sale Posted August 6, 2007 Posted August 6, 2007 How about seeing some other faces in these pictures. It is the same 10 people in every one. There are 90 other people there-walk around with the camera! Getting sick of seeing the same people with their legs up-hugging in mascots and eating. Who else is there????
