steel Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I'm surprised nobody is acknowledging my post about the artwork of SpongeBob SquarePants Rock Bottom Plunge. Especially the part about the tunnel at the bottom of the first drop. Even the description in the visitor's guide says: "twist and turn through creepy caverns" Do you think they'll add caves...kinda looks like they might from the picture. They may only have time to do some of what is portrayed in the artwork, but they could always finish it later if that's the case. I saw it, and I thought it was interesting. Didn't have time to reply, though.
EuroTre Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 God I gotta get to MOA soon. It may be a little weird with all that Nick stuff, but a Eurofighter and Half Pipe?
Vffreak07 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 It's not gonna happen anytime soon if at all. They decided about halfway through that they won't have the budget for it.
cwsr Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 So I decided to venture out again and drive the 2.5 hours to MOA. Here are a bunch of photo's from our second visit of the week. Lot's of changes in 2 days. Plus I threw in some aerial photographs from the ferris wheel. Enjoy You can download full versions of these pics at: http://community.webshots.com/album/562696117bEzENX
coaster05 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I have to say it looks better then I thought it would. Still looks like a Nic explosion, but better then I imagined. ^Because nothing that nice is allowed in Terre Haute.
threeyoda Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 anyone know what and when the Balloon Race ride will be rethemed?
Sticky Nicky Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Wow, thats a lot of pics. Thanks a bunch. ^The Ballon Race will be themed to Boots, Dora's Monkey friend. I don't no when they will retheme it but it looks like a 3-hour job.
Sticky Nicky Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 Seeing all this testing brings me back 4 years ago, to this site. RCDB
spaceace12 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 I see trees in those last set of pics. Where did they go?
kraken613 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 ^ Yeah. It seems to be the thing latly just take out trees where ever you can!
threeyoda Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 so this it what it will look like when it's done? how are they going to build the cave in 9 days?
holyblakbelt Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 It's good to see a considerable amount of rethemeing from when I went two and a half weeks ago. I wonder when the Log Chute will close for its overhaul. But I cant wait to return for spring break!
TexTitan01 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 ^^dude..concept art. Then again, they COULD throw up a tunnel real quick before opening... mmmm...Ferrari. Oh, the coasters look amazing too. Cant wait to see the ride in action with peeps and everything!
Vffreak07 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 THEY AREN'T PUTTING UP A CAVE! I've stated that how many times now?!
ETapley0687 Posted March 5, 2008 Posted March 5, 2008 ^ lol Yea I Don't think they'll be puttin one up either. There are no signs of that happenin so far.
kraken613 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 It they did I think they would have before they put all that theming up front anyways.
coasterdude5 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I hope they do some more stuff to the area around Rock Bottom Plunge... at least cover up the concrete. Somewhat off-topic, but is there any way this park will expand in size with the billion dollar addition to the mall? (I know the park is surrounded) I don't see Nickelodeon being able to add too many more attractions. But like R&E say, if a park wants to add something, they'll find a way to add it.
Sticky Nicky Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 They are priming the ground. You can see it in these photos. Also, workers were applying a primer to the cement under spongebob so it wont just be boring cement you're riding over.
threeyoda Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 ^^ they could get rid of the soon-to-be-vacant buildings like Stampede Steakhouse and the Stadium Club and the arcade area near Playzone Arcade to build a new attraction, but I doubt they would get rid of buissineses and spend money to build an extension on the park during the extension of the mall ^ what are they going to paint the floor?
kraken613 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I imagine blue or some oceany design would be nice. By the way Avatar is testing
knottslover77 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 It looks more like a Cedar Fair park now then when they owned them. --Jay
kraken613 Posted March 6, 2008 Posted March 6, 2008 I dont think we have ever gotten the train in this spot. Now thats lucky timing!
