tdub96
^Yet another deal we got the upper hand on this past week. While he may be getting up there in age, Kovy still has that sniper shot and the hockey sense to be a contributor here in Pittsburgh. I love it, great trade. Ray Shero is one hell of a GM. Cant wait to see how AK27 does tonight vs. Carolina, except now its AK72 .
Carnage
While he may be getting up there in age, Kovy still has that sniper shot and the hockey sense to be a contributor here in Pittsburgh. He has a tendency to show his skill on one shift, and then vanish for an entire period. He's a washed up one dimensional player IMO. But, you gave up nothing for him, and you can use all the players you can get at this point I guess.
imawesome1124
No surprise, the Caps are getting their butts kicked. I'm really getting tired of them looking great one game and horrible the next. I wish they would play like they did last year, where they actually could win games. coasterbill
So happy the Rangers picked up a win tonight against the Caps. We're really struggling too... I'm surprised the Caps didn't put up more of a fight.

The Penguins had a ton of good chances, but Ward was just playing out of his mind.
imawesome1124
Man, that was an awesome comeback. Went down by 2 goals and got 3 unanswered to win. It was hard fought and an epic come-from-behind win.
tdub96
Deadline day! Here we go! I'm gonna have NHL.com up all day
imawesome1124
I'm happy with the trades we made. Steckel hadn't been scoring so we need another player who will put the puck in the net. Jason Arnott is a good player to fill that spot. And getting Dennis Wideman in exchange for a prospect is a good move. We also got Marco Sturm off waivers from the Kings. So we got 3 new players while only giving up one off our roster. Hopefully these moves will turn our luck around for the last few weeks of the regular season. Edit: 600th post! tdub96
Maybe it'll help the Caps sputtering offense. I don't like the team, but I must say GM McPhee did well at this years deadline. But I don't see them bringing home a cup this year.
imawesome1124
That was an awesome game, but the highlight was definately this: The other highlight was Backstrom hitting the puck out of mid-air basball style but I couldn't find a video.

beatle11
^ Here's another one. Keith Aulie drops Scott Hartnell. The leafs are only 3 points back!
Carnage
^ Well 4 now. New York won tonight, so they're now 5 points up. Carolina is now 4 points ahead in 8th. It's definitely looking like a close race between New York, Carolina, Buffalo, and Toronto.
imawesome1124
^ Here's another one. Keith Aulie drops Scott Hartnell. The leafs are only 3 points back! Keith Aulie, you are my hero! Hartnell is such a jackass, but not quite as bad as Carcillo. I'm waiting for someone to knock him out.
tdub96
Way to go Keith Aulie! I hate Hartnell, moreso than Carcillo, but either way that is awesome.
beatle11
Everyone's taking about this so here it is... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1enycgSIWJ4 Chara got no suspension and no fine. I really don't think Chara meant for this to happen like it did. I don't think he's they type to do that, but only he knows for sure. The injury is horrible (major concussion and a fractured fourth vertebrae) and I wish Pacioretty nothing but the best in his recovery. Hockey is a rough sport, and all the players know that there are risks. It's unfortunate, but it happens. That said, it was interference and due to the nature of the injury I think Chara should take some responsibility for that. I would have probably given 2 games. tdub96
Yea, that was rough. I could see the reasoning if they did give him a fine, but it also looks like an accident, on Chara's behalf. I don't think he meant for that, but scary nonetheless.
Carnage
The "turnbuckle" hit is a somewhat common occurrence in hockey. Scary, but not intentional. Every once in awhile someone will get run that way, just that most times they can get up from it.
imawesome1124
I saw that on NHL on the Fly this morning. It did look like an accident, I don't think Chara had any intention of putting Pacioretty's head into the side of the glass. I do agree tdub, it was scary and I can understand why he might get fined and/or suspended for that. But Pacioretty was somewhat concious because he did open his eyes while down on the ice. Hopefully Pacioretty will make a quick recovery.
Carnage
it was scary and I can understand why he might get fined and/or suspended for that. League has already made it's ruling, no fine, no suspension. I think it really comes down to Chara just being so big and strong. If that was a play with a normal sized player, probably wouldn't have been as severe.
imawesome1124
Just got word that Nicklas Backstrom will miss the first game of his NHL career due to a broken thumb. I'm wondering if that will affect our game at all. Edit: I forgot to mention that the injury was caused by a slash to his hand that WASN'T CALLED! Another example of the "fair and impartial" officiating that the Caps get.
Philrad71
^^ Definitely scary and hope he makes a quick recovery. Chara is a big boy and as much as he drives me nuts for always torturing my Sabres (w/Ottawa & Boston), I have to admit that most of the time he plays clean and is a quality future HOF player. Kinda like Brady vs. the Bills...he always owns us!
beatle11
^Who doesn't own the Bills? I'm sure Habs fans think different of Chara right now.
BeemerBoy
Ask Travis Roy, freak accidents happen. I do wish a speedy recovery for Pacioretty though. Go B's!
