What i want to say to the woman: "Well, what do you expect will happen when you try to stand while a vehicle is in motion?"

It sucks that the second woman who tried to keep her from falling off got hurt even more.

You got to love how these articles tend to bring up every singe accident that has happened at the park for the last ten years.

Man I'm very cynical today.

I agree with everyone else's comments. The stupidity of people never ceases to amaze me. It seems like the new American way is to get rich by suing somebody over something dumb that you've done yourself (ie the infamous McDonald's coffee incident). Then parks have to react by trying to save people from their own stupidity.

Reminds me of this story Justin (Mr. Volcano on here, never posts) told me awhile back when he went to BGT. Some white trash woman was going "I NEED TO GET SUMFIN FROM MAH CAR!" and she falls off and goes batsh*t. At least Busch has common sense and didn't give in.

I bet these women, like most of the customers at Panera, lack a frontal lobe.

How the hell do you fall off a PARKING TRAM?!

I mean... I once rode a runaway golf cart(dont ask) and live to tell so how hard can this possibly be?

Posted

I've always thought that parking-lot trams should be equipped with OSRs, roll cages, and side air bags.

Only then, will America be truly safe.

She stood up. There is absolutely no excuse to do so. If you drop something, there is very explicit instructions as to how to handle that situation. Even if they dont speak english or are not familiar with "tram culture", they should know by observing those around them. When in Rome, do as the Romans. And nobody else was standing up.

I'm not going to say I dont feel badly that they were injured--but stupid people. I'm sick of stupid people.

That's no woman, it's a man.. baby....

Anyways, I feel sorry for the person who fell trying to keep the other woman in, but not so much for the one standing up. Common-freaking-sence people! If most people can ride the tram just fine without getting hurt (over 14 million people a year, usually there and back) and all of a sudden 2 women find themselves tumbling out of it, why should they recieve special treatment for thier stupidity? Maybe I just outta stand up and fall out. I think I deserve some money too. Hell, why don't we all stand up and fall out of the tram next time we're on it. If anything, the woman who stood up should recieve some sort of punishment from the park.

Not so sure about the other woman, though. I mean she WAS just trying to help. Maybe she should get something, at least. But that other woman should get nothing.

Someone would still build a better idiot.

Dude this is totally bogus ! I mean Disney gets sooooo much crap from injuries and they get sued so much it's CRAZY ! People put themselves into harm's way so they could get a few hundred buck and go home happy. But they dude who passed away on Big Thunder was Disney's fault from a mechanical error. But this is STUPID !

Truth be told, there should be doors on the trams that prevent people from even attempting this sort of thing. Simple hinged doors that can be opened and closed very easily (like Earthquake at USF). This would reinforce the idea that you are not to attempt anything on the tram.

While this lady is dumb for attempting such an act, I could easily see a child taking a tumble out of one of the trams, even if there are rules stating that children must sit on the inside of a row.

That would just slow the tram service down, because the workers would have to run around to open/shut the doors at each stop. That's a huge waste of time, especially at WDW where you can end up waiting a while for trams at opening/closing. I suppose they could get automated doors.

I think someone else brought up a very good point. Disneyland has millions and millions of visitors each year who seem to not fall off the tram. Why change over one idiot who can't follow the simplest of instructions? Children are supposed to be watched after by parents, and on the inside of the tram.

I think the trams should stay the same. Or, better yet, they should replace all the trams with people movers.

Someone would still build a better idiot.

Exactly, and therein lies the problem. Sure they could put doors on the trams, but then the idiots would just climb through the window or fall out any opening they could find or some other way to jump/fall out, because they're stupid in the first place and no amount of protection can change that fact. As has been said before, if we're forced to keep idiot proofing the world, we'll be left with a bunch of idiots.

Funny that the article doesn't mention ANYTHING about a lawsuit. You guys are jumping to conclusions about the incident. Maybe this woman is level headed and realizes the incident was her fault.

You honestly can't tell me anyone stupid enough to stand up on a moving tram is gonna be level headed enough to take responsibility for their own stupidity. And if by some incredible miracle they are, the blood-sucking lawyers already circling will make sure they're manipulated enough to realize they're entitled to a piece of Disney's fat wallet regardless. Not jumping to conclusions, just stating the obvious sue happy nature of the stupid and irresponsible, especially since lawyers now know Disney just rolls over and settles for even lesser injuries than the serious nature of the injuries in this case.

Maybe not. But, it's guaranteed that dozens of ambulance chasers will contact her if her name is ever released. Not to mention that standing up on a tram isn't too level headed to begin with. And Disney may consider a quick out of court settlement a bargain compared to the bad publicity of being sued.

^Yes, it's a bit early for any question of a lawsuit. Give the vultures a few days.

That being said, I hope that Wes is correct.

So while we are playing the jump to conclusions game...the article also says the tram might have run her over. How did the guy whose job it is in the back of tram to watch such things not notice? So Disney might be partially liable.

But the fact of the matter is none of us know for sure what happened, if the person is going to sue, etc. So who am I to judge?
