DragsterForce Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 (edited) I am currently interning at Great Coasters International. Evan, the other intern, and myself have created this Blog website to give everyone some insight into working at GCI as well as seeing progress on the trains for GCI's new rides. Check it out. http://www.greatcoastersinterns.com/index.php Edited August 16, 2012 by robbalvey
ParkTrips Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Hey, that's cool! Something I have never seen before, I will try to check back in from time to time. I know Mr Gray was very excited to have you guys join the company, good luck with the busy winter! I hope you enjoy your experience
deano Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Very cool, it's great that GCI offer the chance for up 'n' comers like yourself to make it big in the coaster industry, i must say that i'm pretty jealous. Good luck.
CoryPa77 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Hey, go Cards! I'm a Speed Grad (M.E.) also from '03 and '04... I'm glad to see the coaster design tradition is continuing out of there!
okinawaboy11 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Awesome! I think that would be possibly the best internship ever. Just a quick suggestion...get some Millennium Flyer's over to Roar at SFA. They are in desperate need of them. Otherwise. Have fun and keep us updated!
Evan1127 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 This is Evan... Just thought I'd say hello and that, yes, it is a pretty damn cool internship. We'll keep the blog and photos pretty well updated.
robbalvey Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 LOL! What a great idea! Looks like you guys are having fun. Good luck with the internship. --Robb "I getta get our Activision interns to start a site!" Alvey
BDG Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Cool, looks like a great place to work. Don't mess anything up for Toverland !
coasterCrAzY505 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Awesome! I am a huge fan of GCII coasters (Thunderhead, Lightening Racer comes to mind). Just a quick question, how long is your internship at GCII
Reon Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Thanks for putting up that site. I've been persuing a career in design myself, and thats deffinately a good first person source. How did you guys land the internship? I remember e-mailing the good people at GCI last summer about interning, but I never got anything back...
bgwfreak Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Voted coolest intern job ever. Have fun guys and I look forward to you leaking some info to us.
Jayjay719 Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 I agree thats pretty darn interesting! Good luck and I look forward keeping up with the blogs!

DragsterForce Posted January 25, 2007 Author Posted January 25, 2007 Awesome! I am a huge fan of GCII coasters (Thunderhead, Lightening Racer comes to mind). Just a quick question, how long is your internship at GCII The internship for me lasts until the beginning of May, but Evan is there until the beginning of June.
Evan1127 Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Big day today. I posted about it in our blog and I believe Adam did, too (though, as of now, it hasn't been 'approved' yet). www.greatcoastersinterns.com Photos in the next few days. Just letting everyone know...
Dailey Enterprizes Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 Cool stuff, y'know back in middle school I used to dream about going to Penn State and working with GCI. Haha, well that's why it was a dream, I'm in Titusville trying to earn my credits so I can transfer to Pitt Main and pursue my career from there. Goodluck with the intern btw...
thecoasterkid Posted January 30, 2007 Posted January 30, 2007 This is awesome! I'm working at a steel company right now in Mississauga, and right from day one I began to wonder what we could manufacture for coasters. Seeing you guys actually get to build the trains is that much more interesting to me because of it! I definitely know where you're coming from when you say that seeing the finished product will be exciting to you, because I love seeing how all the parts that we make get put together and fabricated into a final product. I'm going to be starting in sales in the near future, at which point I'll go on a hunt for any sort of coaster manufacturing (we would be most apt to make the cross ties for steel coasters...think Arrow or Vekoma) that we could potentially get into.
DragsterForce Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 Everyone should check out the site for photos from Eastcoaster and big news pertaining to the 2 mystery millenium flyers we are building (check out Evan's new blog post.
CP_RULES Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Great to hear Wildcat is getting Millennium Flyers, Ive always thought those PTCs looked a little out of place on it.
Ccron10 Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I have a question. I am aiming to go to Penn State for architecture and my main goal is to become an amusement ride designer, so what classes would I need to take(yes, I know I need to take physics.)? It seems like your job is a lot of fun. -Chris
KrazyT Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Just a quick suggestion...get some Millennium Flyer's over to Roar at SFA. They are in desperate need of them. I think they should send some for Gwazi as well!

There is something interesting to read
Satoshi Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 i'm so surprised about GCI intern website has a kind of blog thing and looks like it says lots of GCI's update such as the latest woodie infos or the construction going so it's really going to let me have fun.
