niiicolaaah Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 So, up until last week, the weather here in lovely Buffalo, NY has been generally in the 40s, with no snowfall except for that freak storm in October. Over night, the lovely ice storm that was terrorizing the central states decided to grace us with its presence. Luckily it didn't get too bad, but it left a thick coating of ice all over everything. I decided to scrape off my car way before I had to go to work, cause I knew it would take a long time. I was scraping for half an hour, and I didn't really finish! Round two attack on the car will come after I post this and go get gas and windshield wiper fluid. RARRRR, this is going to take a while!! Maybe I should go bake a pie instead... I wonder if any snakes are around to steal it from the window... Finally, I get to work. This doesn't look good... Ahh, yes, Unearth. That will keep me warm!! I've got my ice scraper of doom... I'm so ready. She lasted about another 30 seconds, then ran to the door so I would let her back inside. Daisy REALLY wants to go in the car. She keeps trying to put her paws up on the tire, but slips off because of the ice. Everything is coated! Baby icicles. The trees in Buffalo are all jagged and messed up from the ice storm in October. I wonder if more branches are going to break off? Daisy ran right to the car. As you can see, there isn't much snow, but everything is coated in ice. I'm ready to scrape. And don't I look stho exthited. Daisy saw me putting my coat on and got really excited. Ok, you can come too!
Steffen_Dk Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Ohhh what a sweet dog It looks cool, but I guess it isn't. It must have been a hard and wearing job scarping so much ice of the car.. Btw - cool scraper
piers Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Gosh! Don't you have a lot of hair? The ice looks bad aswell.
Guest Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 I always end up late to wherever I'm going because I'll just stroll out to my car only to remember that it needs a good scraping. Or I'll just drive with a ton of ice on the windshield with my face about 2 inches from it trying to find the road. Need warmer weather!
Carnage Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Looks like you got hit worse then we did as usual. Our storm was more salty then ice.
niiicolaaah Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 Gosh! Don't you have a lot of hair? The ice looks bad aswell. LOL!!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!! LOL!!!!!!! LOL!!!!! Thanks. The ice looks bad as well? You just told me I have bad hair. Thanks a lot!
niiicolaaah Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 Yeah, my hair is naturally wavy and it was raining lightly. It started to get poufy! Plus, I haven't gotten my hair cut since August.
stingrock23 Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 As much as I love snow, I'm glad I never have to deal with the effects of snow and ice storms like this. Down here is snows once every 15 years
mcjaco Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Looks like you got hit worse then we did as usual. Our storm was more salty then ice. Salty????
niiicolaaah Posted January 15, 2007 Author Posted January 15, 2007 LOL! Paul must have hit the sauce a little early this evening!
arrowfanman Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 You people are sick. How could you possibly live like that? Anyway, thanks for making me feel like a major PITA for complaining about 40 degree weather! Have fun scraping your car! -Jahan
DerekRx Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Boo to Buffalo ice storms, snow storms, and predictions of snow preventing me from seeing a lot of hair on the weekends.
Carnage Posted January 15, 2007 Posted January 15, 2007 Salty???? It's the best way I could describe that kind of sleety snow/ice. The stuff that ends up feeling more like sand then snow. Actually I guess sand would be a better word. My point was though that we didn't get the rain/sheer ice. We got more of a snow/ice mixture that while a pain in the ass, wasn't as bad as pure ice.
TheStig Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Your eyes, they are so.....so....ROUND! Oh and Florida rules, that is all, enjoy the ice. Colin C
BarryH Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 In other news, it was in the mid-70s in Florida.
GMAN962 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 I agree with Jahan, I now feel bad for hating this 40-60 degree weather. However, when you grew up this way, you don't know too much about the cold.....until lately...oh well. Looks like fun! Have fun scraping ice! In other news....my grandparents live in Buffalo, I go there every year. You have things to do....then again, I'm just a teenager. ~Mike
Blazen_AZN Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 ^ Are you kidding? I don't care if people are scraping ice off their cars in buffalo, im STILL freezing my butt off over here in SoCal. Sucks for you guys though!
Rollerholden Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Aw what a cool dog! And she's the complete opposite of mine! When we get ready to go out, he runs into his crate. But of course when we come back, the couch is warm form where he was laying..
cfc Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 In other news, it was in the mid-70s in Florida. And in Virginia--but that's changing tonight.
niiicolaaah Posted January 16, 2007 Author Posted January 16, 2007 Lol... You guys and your warm climates! I hate when it's below 40, but I also hate when it's above 80, so I can't win. I like spring and fall.
ginzo Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 Have you seen Vincent Gallo's "Buffalo '66"? He portrays Buffalo in the most unfavorable light imaginable, and it's a pretty damn funny movie.
