Raven Maven Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Thought you might like to tune in ... anything could happen, I get the feeling. More info here on the HoliBlog: http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2006/09/koch-and-colbert.html Thanks, Paula Paula Werne Holiday World PR
ShannonSomerville Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Is John colbert's show on the Comedy Central network.
Wes Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 ^ You're mixing up Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert, but yes they are on Comedy Central. "The Daily Show" is on at 11pm and "The Colbert Report" (which is what Will will be on) is on at 11:30pm. This is AWESOME news! Colbert is such a great show, I can't wait to see what's in store.
Reality15 Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 11:30 Eastern Time, correct? Setting TiVo to tape it right now.
SharkTums Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I have added this to our calendar! Sounds great!
Raven Maven Posted September 11, 2006 Author Posted September 11, 2006 Any advice would be appreciated ... I've been told Will needs to keep laughing and to roll with the punches. (He can do that.) Paula
Wes Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Have Will tell Stephen you guys are going to make a ride based on "Stephen Colbert’s Alpha Squad 7: Lady Nocturne: A Tek Jansen Adventure" book (this is a recurring joke on the show, it's the sci-fi book he wrote). It's hard to tell what kind of interview style he'll use. Sometimes he goes after guests and tries to "nail them" (get them to admit he's right about a certain issue). Since it's a segment on Lincoln, I'm going to assume it'll probably be a bit more light-hearted in tone and he won't be grilling Will too much. Just make sure Will knows anything Colbert says is a joke, and make sure to appear affable and easy going. Since you guys are Holiday World, he might mention his ongoing "War On Christmas" bit, which is where he thinks that the media is trying to destroy Christmas.
methylene Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 A strong wit and use of irony and sarcasm will go over well. Especially if he can do a good deadpan delivery. BTW, the link in the OP doesn't work because of a period at the end that got stuck into the URL. Thanks for the heads up, Paula! Matt
bgwfreak Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 11:30 Eastern Time, correct? Setting TiVo to tape it right now. You are correct sir.
ParkTrips Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Holiday World just became one of my favorite parks. - Joe
SharkTums Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 Just do a lot of smiling and laughing! But whatever you do, don't nod in agreement in everything that Stephen says! He'll trick you!
J man Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 I'll be sure to watch it. I love the Colbert Report.
Raven Maven Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 Holiday World just became one of my favorite parks. - Joe Judging from your avatar, you're a Notre Dame fan? Will's a graduate. Paula

Raven Maven Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 haha no I lost a bet... I'm a Georgia Tech =( Oops. One year we had t-shirts in the park with "The Fighting Reindeer." Will's a bit of a nut... Paula
CoasterFanatic Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Judging from your avatar, you're a Notre Dame fan? Classic!
Johnny Upsidedown Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Will's a bit of a nut... Paula Yes he us a bit of a nut. I will say this about Will he does have a great enthusiasm for the park. It was funny earlier this year during the construction tour of Voyage Will was like a big kid grinning from ear to ear. His appearence on the show will probably be interupted with lots of laughs. Thanks for all the information Paula.
Jew Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Awh man, I WAS really looking foward to visiting Holiday World until I found out it's being run by an ND grad. I kid, I kid. Should be a fun interview and great exposure for the park. -Joey "FIGHT ON!!!" Mandel
VegasCoaster Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 I would bet money its going to be about the War on Christmas or that it at least is going to be involved with the interview at some point in time given that you guys are in Santa Claus, IN. As everyone has pointed out, everything is a joke and just have fun.
ParkTrips Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 Actually, its a profile of the area and Abe Lincolns connection to it. With Colbert's love of Truthiness, I'd have to guess he is pro-Lincoln. BTW Paula, you may want to check www.colboard.com on Thursday morning to see the public's (well, at least those among Colbert Nation) response. It always provides entertainment. - Joe
ParkTrips Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/holiblog.html Humerous pre-show thoughts. Don't forget to watch!!
