P. 2038: Top Thrill 2 reopens on May 3rd!

Is there suppose to be water falling beneathe the tracks down that part and water spraying out those nozzle black things? I haven't seen this coaster in action so I dont know. I know this is completely off topic but since it has been brought up it peaked my curiousity!

I'm trying to imagine what this ride would look like with no theming what-so-ever.

Hmmm... I think Cedar Point could build a better themed version then the Aquatrax in South Korea.

No theming in Atlantis Adventure's station either.

Not much theming on the outside of the ride.

I knew it! I just knew it! Go read yourself...

SANDUSKY, Ohio, Aug. 34, 2006 – Current „Cedar Point“ will give guests a "double splash" – focusing on both thrills and family – when it debuts the world's tallest and fastest "double-washing" water roller coaster and a park renaming for its 2007 season. The new attractions will represent a 13 million cubic inch of fluid investment project at the famed amusement park/resort for the upcoming season.

THE PARK: Due to obnoxious fanboy requests all over the world „Cedar Point“ will reopen as „Lotte Dot“ in 2007. Additionally, right from season start in 2007, park guests will get special discounts for arriving at the park in soaked pants, or permanently wearing life saver vests during the visit.

THE COASTER: Named Maverick, the 13.4-foot-tall, 12-mph water roller coaster will launch riders 27 times into a new dimension of pond-hopping and will be Lotte Dot's 17th roller coaster, enabling the park to break its own world record for having more coasters than anywhere in Ohio, in particular more than Cedar Point ever.

As so called "hosing" roller coaster, Maverick will use the advanced technology of liquid spill movers (LSM) to plunge riders out of the coaster's station – at a maximum speed of 12 mph in only a quarter of a minute! – Propelling forward and up and down a meandering track with spiraling fountains, Maverick will be the first and only coaster of its kind anywhere in Sandusky.

"The 2007 season will be a dripping time at Lotte Dot – for both spill-seekers and swimsuit lovers," says Ms. Kin Gum, future vice president and general manager of Lotte Dot. "As our 17th coaster, Maverick will reinforce Lotte Dot 's reputation as the world's rider soaker capital with a brand new type of family embarassement."

This is my first post on here but I keep up with this thread a lot. Funny people, but you guys blow my mind how blind you are to whats going on..

1. Its not an aquatrax, its not an aquatrax, its not an aquatrax. Never bring this up again, EVER. If its an aquatrax, the world is flat and Jesus is coming tomorrow.

2. Cedar Point has purposely built this rollercoaster in a certain manner. They started off by building all of the low sections and helixes to bring down expectations. An inversion showed up and it was awesome. There will be more, many more. I doubt the way they are building it was the most convienient way to do so

3. Why do I know there will be many more inversions? Because the two inversions are back to back. Why have a rollercoaster that goes through a severall thousand foot layout, only to have two inversions right next to each other and never go into another one? My gut really tells me this coaster will break the track inversion record, and if not, at least 6 or 7 inversions.

4. My guess is itll launch at around 60-70 MPH, maybe have a dual launch which would be awesome, and maybe have a unique train design like floorless or something.

This is Cedar Point folks, there not gonna build a random stupid subpar ordinary coaster. Goin in a new direction? A lotta inversions. This thing is gonna be one intense bad motha fu@%$#. Get pumped and start the inversion counter

I hate to burst your bubble but in all things construction, little (if any) thought goes in to the aesthetics of the actual construction process. It is about "what is the most cost-effective, safe, and proper way to put this thing together". That you think they are purposely trying to lower expectations by building the low sections first is akin to thinking the builders of a skyscraper are trying to lower expectations by constructing the lower floors first.

It is and will be, just not in the way you might believe. Ride ops will be specially trained, hynotising park guests into believing it was either a 780ft rocket, a 17 looper, or an AquaTrax. There will be three q-lines for you to chose what kind of illusion you want to experience. People in the AquaTrax waiting line will have to listen to a repeating murmur of AquaBlah, as soon a they board the train, they already will believe it's a submarine diving Lake Erie.

Forum Members are purposely adding to this thread in a certain manner. They started off by gathering all of the few information and rumors to bring up expectations. An Aquatrax suggestion showed up and it was awesome. There will be more, many more speculations. I doubt the way you are writing was the most humorous way to do so.

My guess is I'll have lunch at around 6-7 PM, maybe have a dual lunch which would be awesome, and maybe have a unique dessert like icecream or something.
