HCOSurfer90 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I really think everyone needs to stop arguing. At this point we have no clue what it is, we DONT know if its a looper, we DONT know if its a wing walking, and we DONT know its an aqua trax. What we do know it that during one point of the ride it will probably use LIMs or LSMs. I'm sick of people saying IT WILL BE AN AQUA TRAX or IT WILL BE A LOOPER. At this point no one know except for the people working over at CP. So seriously knock it off.
TheArchfiend Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 ^^ Dude, no one's arguing. Don't hype up drama that isn't there. No one knows what it will be and thats been made clear, even by me. But I'd still bet a trillion dollars that it's a Aqua Trax. Cause it is.
derwood Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 It's going to be an Arrow Shuttle Loop. I just know...don't ask how. d
jamesdillaman Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Just don't get this thread locked, We're getting into the point of construction (finally) where updates are very telling, so I expect the announcement will be made soon, because as they put track up, it'll soon be clear to everyone. Until then, I have no problem with people dreaming of 11 inversions 500 foot whatever... Just be cordial about it, we're all in the same "boat", and no matter what they build, we'll all ride it on the hot days next summer at cedar point so let's try and keep our "cool" -James Dillaman
saytrain Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Only problem with another wood coaster is that Mean Streak is right there, gotta spread them out. I think that popularity on the mean streak will be up when this new coaster is done, mostly cause of the crowds that will be brought there. I think that TTD had the same effect on the corkscrew, when I was there last weekend, corkscrew had longer lines (25-30min) than the mean streak (15min). As far as what the new coaster really is, maybe it's an LIM, Mega Looping, Aqua Trax... Who knows...
TPDave Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 The "electrical building" says something to me about a LIM/LSM coaster. There is nothing to proove it is or is not an aqua trax. I have heard rumour that the announcement wil be made of the 15th of august but do not hold be to that, it's more likely people are just saying "well thats the middle of august" (bless) than it being based on any fact at all.

El Toro was built right next to Rolling Thunder and they're both wooden coasters, why couldnt they do that here?
TPDave Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Bcause they're building a steel coaster? There is no reason why they couldn't have done, it's like saying you cant build 2 steel coaster next to each other, but they've already started building a steel coaster so it's kind of pointless discussing the possibility of a woodie.

I'd much rather them be putting in an Intamin woodie versus what they're getting! --Robb
dandaman Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Y'know, sometimes I wonder what would happen if I won the lottery and was planning a theme park. I'd definitely invite you guys on the company board. 1. Intamin woodie 2. 97 Degree Coaster (whatever manufacturer it is...) 3. Either a "smooth as a baby's bottom" SLC, or none at all! 4. (parking space reserved for when memory decides to visit again)

SimpleAndClean46 Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I'd be willing to bet my life that this is an Aqua Trax coaster. Look at these pics (copy the link), and try to tell me otherwise. Maybe a launched Aqua Trax? http://www.rcdb.com/ig1646.htm
Rollerholden Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 ^ Why would you bet your life on something as silyl like a roller coaster? IMHO it doesn't matter what it is. It's at Cedar Point, and it's another Intamin. That's enough info to know it'll kick ass!
Robbie Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 You could say the same thing about an intamin multilooper look at the supports http://www.rcdb.com/ig1412.htm
rollercoasterbuff Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 my bet is a splitting coaster. i mean, look how much track is out there...and what else explains those "V" supports!? haha....im prolly gonna get chewed out here...but go for it. im just throwing out a long shot. cyrus
IntaminXtreme Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I agree...It's at Cedar Point, so you know it's gonna be something "huge" not always as in tall but you know what I mean. Plus...we can tell by the track that it's an Intamin...therefore it's gonna be NAR! Enough said. Kildow
RCfanatic Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 I'ts going to be a launched Aqua Trax with 11 inversions, a top hat and lots of airtime hills! But seriously, from what you can see on the construction site, its probarly going to be an Aqua Trax, maybe a looper and possibly launched. But for now there's no way to say for sure what it is, only what its probarly gonna be.
TheArchfiend Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 You know what would be great... If Cedar Point built an Aqua Trax coaster. I wonder if they ever will?

TheArchfiend Posted August 11, 2006 Posted August 11, 2006 Hey, maybe it's an Aqua Trax. That is the most absurd guess in this thread yet.
