Xxhershey818xX Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I just want to say this is a thought the clues they keep dropping the ride will have to fast and probly have some inversions but soemthing thats toatlly newish! I dont know btu me and my friend just thought that!
coasterlover420 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 ^At least your friends think about roller coasters.
Xxhershey818xX Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 yours dont? and everyone count out anything bigger than TTD cause if you saw super coasters last night the like head guy said he would not want to build something taller than TTD until it worked on a regular basis which IMO does not...
Jon Sabo Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Whooo nice arial views!~~ I would like to make a comment about the pic on p. 52 (second pic down). I would agree with NEOVORTEX comment in that the view on the ride side of the pic would appear to indicate the station area (as well as the transfer track system) would be located in this area. It appears the amount of pre-footers and the construction of new ones would indicate some additional supports within that specific area. Now, with that said, here are a couple of other ideas to float around (I appologize in advanced if it has been mentioned before either by someone else or myself). I still think it could be an aqua-trax coaster, but now I have ideas (and from other discussions in other forums) that CP may attempt 4! things. 1. Have the MOST inversions in the world. 2. Have the LONGEST coaster in the world (SD2K has that title correct?). 3. Have a COMBINATION of a lift hill & a launched section. 4. A splashdown finale near the end of the ride (assuming that the current trough area is not covered up with landfill. If the splashdown area is a possibility, look for a trough section/concrete to start looking like something similar to Sheikra's (BGA).
rollermonkey Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Just remember, Aquatrax don't float. They stay on the track the whole time.
ECZenith Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Just coming home from the west coast, I hope this thing is going to be something like California Screamin'. Fast and fun... you can keep the records.
rollermonkey Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 I am blowing the Aquatrax idea out the window. Considering the color of the track and the extensive amount of footers, it doesn't seem possible to me. Huh? What does the color of the track have to do with the type of coaster? Have you seen how many footers AtlAdv had before they covered it all up?
Jon Sabo Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 So, if the CP track was Pink or Yellow then that would be grounds to dismiss the aqua-track idea as well?..lol Track color doesn't mean that much (although I would have preferred a different color toward a western-theme). I was hoping for a Dollywood TT or SDC-Wildfire colorscheme myself. I wish CP actually chose another color than RED-AGAIN! DOGH!
jamesdillaman Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 well the color won't really matter when they build the enclosure for the entire ride, as it will all be pitch black anyway.
LittleSicilian85 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 As far as the tallest coaster idea, bear in mind that in order to build a structure 450 ft. tall, you have to dig very far down to support that structure. There are so many footers in place already, the idea of going really big isn't supported by the fact that there hasn't been a huge digging project for this area. I agree with the Rita idea.
LittleSicilian85 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 The very back of the park where the Log Flume used to be. Right by Mean Streak. If you look at my pictures (I think page 52?) you can see where the site is in relation to Mean Streak.
rollermonkey Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 The indications to tend to suggest a more family friendly coaster, which IMO is definitely a good idea for CP. I think it's odd that lots of track is on site, but there aren't any supports yet!

I think it's odd that lots of track is on site, but there aren't any supports yet! its going to be the worlds first completely supportless, free standing ride
BC Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Has CP set a date for the press release (revealing what the ride is)? I think the idea of a TNT/Dynamite theme (mentionend earlier) sounds fitting for the colour of the track... and the area.
rollermonkey Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 How unoriginal! Is Powder Keg that far away or in the past? I don't think so, I immediately thought of it, and I've never been on it and live only 9 or 10 THOUSAND miles away!
BC Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 YES!, possibly unoriginal, but nevertheless still a possibility... How about some ORIGINAL ideas for theaming then... (considering colour and position of coaster) Also, the TNT/Dynamite theme could still work for an AquaTrax...
DRWP2005 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Well from those recent ariel shots, I tend to believe that this ride will have some sort of water feature in it. That area in the middle looks like it could have a lake. All those PVC pipes lying there is what lead me to that conclusion.
cprocks22 Posted May 31, 2006 Posted May 31, 2006 Woah where did u get the exact date? In the press confrence call about the buying of Paramount Parks Dick Kinzel said late august.
Astat Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 ^ Nah, Kinzel actually said in the press release about Paramount that an announcement would be made in August.
Jon Sabo Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I agree. The Paramount purchase "announcement" to shareholders was the same day when Mr. Kinzel made the announcement when the CP new ride date was mid-August. (I thought I heard August 24 as the official date).
