Valleyfair (VF) Discussion Thread

Recommended Posts

From my experience, on Sunday through Friday, everything starts the day with one train (except Wild Thing, two trains) and the second train will be added on if the line gets to a certain length. On Saturdays, everything runs two trains except Steel Venom (of course) and Excalibur (second train currently not on the track). Wild Thing hardly ever runs three trains, but they don't really need to because it usually results in stacking when they do.

Apparently there is a recorded down time from a while ago for Steel Venom to add a train. Not sure how that works.

Also, my supervisor told me that before all of the safety checks were in place, they could load and clear a Wild Thing train before the previous one was even over the lift. They set capacity records for sure!

Renegade start's out with one train. The ride operators told me once the line gets past the tunnel they will add a second train. But on Saturdays morning's I have seen Renegade start out with running two trains on busy weekend's same on Sundays to. I'm there on Sunday and Monday evenings they normally have two train's running by the time I get there after 4pm. And Renegade ever since they have put a new chain lift on it has been running two train's on a regular basis. Last Monday when I was at Valleyfair had moderate rain during the evening when I was there everyone left the park around 7:00pm and Renegade kept two train's running till close which was nice to keep the lines moving.

Wild Thing always runs two train's. Has Wild Thing ever run one train? Does it really have to be a dead day at the park for Wild Thing to run only one train? So far this season with Wild Thing since I have been to the park always runs two trains. And I know from maitnence they won't be running three trains even on the 4th of July. They need a third train in case of something else happens to the other trains if they were to brake down have mechanical issuses then they will have a back up train. Don't expect them to run three trains.

That's exactly what Mild Thing was for. I'm still pissed that they removed that coaster. It was my first coaster.

Mine was the rock bottom plunge, well other than the carnival dragon little coaster but that doesn't even count tbh, then after the rock bottom plunge, my first was renegade, LOL!

im not sure if anyone has noticed but there seems to be some activity in the amphitheater. The curtain is up and I think there are various boards on the stage. That's just what I saw though. If I were a betting man, I would bet a larson flyers goes where those markers are in 2016

Nope that's just the storage area for haunt. They are only taking stuff out

Power Tower is fun.

I'm not sure where you heard that most coasters run 1 train, because VF runs 2 trains on most of their rides.

Oh good. Having never been to the park, the posts I have read mentioned 1 train running on Renegade, 1 on Excalibur, of course 1 on Venom, so I went the "assuming" route that most were running 1, even though most of the rides have 2 trains (besides Wild thing, and Mad Mouse (multiple cars))

I just had a fantastic day at the park! Thank you valleyfairfanatic for notifying me that the commercial shoot was happening! I got at least 10 rides on Wild Thing, and I got 4 on Power Tower!

I'm ready to do it again tomorrow at Renegade at Extreme Swing!

Any other TPR members going tomorrow for the commercial shoot?

My Official 2016 Valleyfair Prediction:

- Flying Scooters in former Scrambler Location

- If not in Scrambler location, then in...

- Wild Thing Grass

- Planet Snoopy - remove snoopys junction

Why no removal of Excalibur?

Every other CF park removing a roller coaster has made a big deal out of it. It looks to me that Excalibur will be staying at least through most of 2016.

Coaster Update

Does Valleyfair actually still get a B&M Invert? We all know that KI installed banshee and it was huge and great, but is it really reasonable for an older coaster to come to a park that rarely gets new coasters? Personally, I would expect seeing a wing coaster before an invert, but an invert would still be likely and liked by many people.

Updated 5-Year Plan

2016: Flying Scooters and General Improvements- Removal of Excalibur-June 2016

2017: B&M Roller Coaster - Removal of Dinosaurs Alive

2018: Soak City Expansion- Funnel Slide, Tube Slides, Matt Racer, Looping Starship Moved up to Front of park

2019/2020: Off-Year/Triotech Dark Ride

please say your '16 predictions below. thanks!

There are new markings by the chaos area. Might be a spot for a new ride? Delirium or Flying Larsons? There are two parks getting a Delirium maybe Valleyfair will get one as well I would be happy if we got one to. I also spoke with Frazier a few weeks ago. He mention to me chance that Looping Star Ship might be relocated to the front of the park for the next water park expansion. Maybe a giant tornado bowl or a Hydro blaster comeback could fit in there. And tearing down the Hurricane Falls for a new slide package be nice and add a combination of tube slide to but keep Raging Rapids is one of my favorites at Soak City. Add more tube slides. Remove Excalibur and expand the Soak City in the back of the park and keep the new B&M coaster either a wing or inverted up were the Dino area is. Building a new coaster for the back of the park is risky with flooding. I'm speculating that the next coaster will go in the Dino area and the ampitheatre will be the spot for the dark ride. My speculation for Valleyfair in the next five years.

(1) Delirium, 2016 New Ride maybe a Larson Flyers to in the same year.

(2) 2017 New B&M Coaster. Inverted or Wing.

(3) 2018 Removal of Excalibur for the new parking lot and start the construction of wet land project service road, new employee parking lot and expansion of Soak City.

I was never expecting a coaster this year, I'm hoping it comes in 2020, Dave said he wants the Dino's land as a kids area!

I think Dave is screwing with you..or he's on drugs..or your mistaking talking to Dave in your dreams as reality..all 3 very feasible scenerios..

Delirium like KD is adding has moved to the top on my 2016/2017 list! Rode maXair a few years ago and loved it more than most coasters!

I wonder if they would go two years in a row with waterpark additions..how many times do you think the whole, "come out and enjoy the new soak city water park" marketing campaign will work?..

Dave wasn't screwing with us, he said "I want to make a ride, that kids that are to scared for Wild Thing can ride" Now obvious im pissed cause thats just kinda, ugh dumb!

That's exactly what Mild Thing was for. I'm still pissed that they removed that coaster. It was my first coaster.

That's what the Minnesota River Valley Railroad is for.

As for the Flying Scooters, is that just something random that someone thought up and everyone is now jumping on, or is there some actual factual basis to think that? Another "OK" flat ride seems way done list of what the park needs.

I think Larson Flyers was brought up because we won't be getting a new coaster in a couple of years and was an idea for a new ride update the flat rides before we get a new coaster and fill in some of the open areas. Were the old tilt a whirl use to sit you can remove the arcade to make room for a new small coaster. Fairly Odd Coaster or Spinning Dragons could fit in the tilt a whirl spot.

Valleyfair has room open spaces to fill up for new rides and were the old tilt a whirl use to sit you can remove the arcade to make room for a new small coaster. A clone of FOC or SD could not fit in the old Tilt-a-Whirl spot, and I doubt they would add a clone of a ride that's 20 minutes away. Also as a side note, I find your posts to be difficult to read. I'm not trying to be a backseat mod or anything, but could you maybe learn how to use commas and periods? Most of your statements are run on sentences.

Anyways, I would love to see Valleyfair add flying scooters and maybe a Delirium clone.

Why did Valleyfair cut the park services? And have the ride operators do park services? Is this the first year they have done this?

Yes this is the first year. No one was happy. Because budget. Because they don't think we do enough already, IDK. It does say in our job description "other miscellaneous jobs" or something like that.

Valleyfair is one of the only (If not THE only) park where you had to be 18 to operate ANY rides position. However, they got special permission from the state to allow 16-17 y.o. to operate all but primary controls, including single operator rides. They wear the orange park services uniform, and then get the red uniform once they turn 18. They are titled "Ride Attendants" instead of "Ride Operators".

So the pay levels go $9.25/attendants, $10.25/operators, $11.25/leads, and $11.75/supervisors with the pay raise this year.

I just thought of this. Would any TPR's like to meet up on Sunday the last day of the season and hang out as a group? Ill be at Valleyfair the last day of the season all day. I'm at Valleyfair now looks like the park is getting ready for the haunt.

Looks like maitence crews are only running one train on Wild Thing the rest of the evening along with Corkscrew both had two trains running early this evening before 6:00pm. Maitence just closed Wild Thing a few minutes ago right when I got in line putting the second train back on the transfer track. Park is really slow this evening. Why would they put a second train back on the transfer track at 7pm on Wild Thing and keep two trains running on Renegade till closing? Renegade had shorter lines then Wild Thing.
