C.P.A.Guy
^Super specific...I think we just witnessed a very subtle advertisement for Super America and the Culvers on Cantebury Drive. No advertisement. Everytime I go to Valleyfair, before I head home, I fill up at the Super America and get a chicken tender basket from Culvers. Tradition. The dinos died once. Let's hope a B&M destroys them this time around instead of an asteroid, or whatever way scientists are preaching nowadays.. I'm starting to say B&M in my posts too much, you guys are rubbing off on me..

It seems that Cedar Fair will be bringing back old classic flat rides to all 11 of their parks. It also stated that Flying Scooters are at 8 of the 11 parks, and that Valleyfair along with other parks are next in line to receive them. Check it out. Thank you for sharing that! It's pretty interesting to read. Do you remember a ride called Turbo? Its hard to explain but it was a huge flat that would come to our local fair. I rode with a friend one time who got sick while on the ride. He made it through the ride, got off, walked next to a nearby food booth and spilled his breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything else. It was pretty funny!

VF15
Not sure if this is completely true, but I've heard that in the early 2000s there was supposed to a B&M invert called Falcon: Bird of Prey located where the Dinos are now and have a layout similar to Talon at Dorney Park, but for whatever reason, those plans fell through and we got Steel Venom instead. It's too bad that happened because even though I like Steel Venom, I would much rather have had the B&M invert.

VF used to have a Rotor, Flyers and a Bayern Curve back when I was a kid and real dinosaurs still walked the earth. Flat rides were a strength of VF in the 70's and 80's and after reading this article it is kind of cool to still hear it is one of the top flat parks in the CF chain. I have never been to CW so I was shocked to read they do not have a simple classic Scrambler ride. Very happy with the refurb on that and Tilt-O-Whirl last year. Also happy VF got the Monster parts from WOF to keep that one going too.
DILinator
^I loved both the Rotor, and the Bayern Kurve! I loved getting a chance to ride the latter again (after growing up with one at CP) at Kennywood! So much fun! I'm definitely for CF bringing those back in vogue at their parks! ACES
Where the Wheel of Fortune currently sits. I remember that the Bayern Curve use to sit there. For any ride come backs at Valleyfair. I'd like to see them bring back the Falling Star like at Adventureland in Iowa. Also like to see some new flat rides like: Himalaya, Air Race, Sidewinder. Inverter flat rides from Adventureland which I would like to see at Valleyfair. Edited August 6, 2015 by ACES
madsencarson
I'd also love for Cedar Fair to start putting in Air Races in their parks. They seem like a lot of fun. Another flat that I enjoyed at the State Fair last year was The Zipper. That was the most fun I've ever had at the fair.

Hey, somebody has to remind all the gullible people on here that most the information posted here has little to no basis of reliability and are merely just opinions and like someone said, speculation.. I remember discussing the "Falcon" rumor way back in 2002-2003. There has never been any evidence of it. I think Dorney had recently put Talon in and everybody figured Vallyfair and Worlds of fun were next, then they caught onto the whole Cedar Fair bird of prey names for their B&M inverts, put two and two together and ran with the idea. It made sense, which is why everybody bought into the idea so much. Edited August 7, 2015 by C.P.A.Guy
CaptainUnknown
So I went into the park today with my family using my associate comp tickets. Not sure if this means anything or not: Wild Thing had a spare chain next to the lift with a couple water dummies. Today was the first day that I've actually gotten to talk to Dave Frazier. I've seen him around before, but this was the first I'd actually spoken with him. Weird since he's my boss. -_- I only had a couple seconds as he was leading someone in a Cedar Fair jacket around. I didn't know who, nor did I get a look at his nametag. The sky sprung a bit of a leak today; closing Mad Mouse just before I got on, Northern Lights 90% of the day, and Wild Thing just after I got off it for my last ride of the day. On the old flat ride trend, I'd love a flying scooters, paratrooper, rotor, troika, and round-up. For new: Air race, frisbee-type attraction. I remember the Enterprise being on that list of old flats; what about the new version of the Enterprise that Huss is working on? Especially the G2H+? ACES
Regarding the park current rest rooms. Are they original since the park opened up in 1976? If there going to update remodel the rest rooms. I think they should tear down the main front gate rest room make it newer updated more stalls sinks newer floors. I'm also sticking with the dinasour's alive when there done that's were the new coaster is going to go. Putting a new coaster in the back of the park is to risky for flooding. I would leave the back of the whole park for the Soak City water park expansion along with the new parking lot and service road maybe a new thrill ride and a couple of new sit down restaurants for the back of the park. I like Dollywood's new coaster Lightning Rod $22 million and how they are investing. I want Valleyfair's next coaster to be a big investment for the park. Going to be back at Valleyfair in the morning from 9am till 2pm on my normal visits Saturday, Sunday, Monday. Monday evening at Renegade night rides again. VF15
^ I don't think we necessarily need brand-new restrooms, the existing ones just need to be renovated and brought up to modern standards.

The restrooms by Monster and SuperCat are original, by the Red Baron was shortly afterwords. The ones by the front gate were later, when they built the walkway that now goes to Steel Venom. Red Garter, or whatever they call it now, and Soak City were obviously later also. I used to change into my swimming suit in a stall in the restroom by SuperCat and rent a lock er for 75 cents, instead of the $8 ones that you had to rent from a person. The new locke rs are expensive but it's nice that you can just use a credit card, and no incentive to be cheap and not use the ones right in Soak City. ACES
When I came around the corner by the general store saw Frazier said hello. Every time I visit Valleyfair always nice to chat with him. He ask me how my coaster trip was. I told him I went to Adventureland Iowa, Silver Dollar City, Six Flags St Louis and Six Flags Great America. We were also talking about the next water park expansion. I mention to Frazier about relocating the Looping Starship somewhere else he said it's a real possibility it may go up in the front of the park and new paint job plus moving the Soak City enterance over by the new Mad Mouse gate. He told me he plays roller coaster tycoon LOL moving rides around so relocating the Looping Starship tells me we're the vollyball courts and food truck is might be the next spot for the water park expansion maybe a giant tornado bowl or a hydroblaster will come back there and also mention to him about removing the Hurricane Falls slide for a new slide package might go there. One more thing I mention to Frazier about my trip on having a Outlaw Run told him there around $10 million and said I like hearing the sounds of the Raptor or Banshee inverted coasters over the midways but he said they only do what cooperate gives them. Thought I would share this.

John Peck
Still planning my trip for the last week in August. What route (in the park) should I take if I arrive in the early morning (planning to take advantage of the early entry) as well as if I were to arrive for a second day in the late afternoon or early evening? Also, since I have the dining plan, what are the best places to eat?

Valleyfair isn't really a place where you need to plan out your trip, on a weekday at least (I haven't been there on a busy weekend before). Just know that Renegade will be you longest wait, and it will usually be 15-30 minutes. Sometimes High Roller gets a line, but the line usually starts just outside of the station (Just the ramp, on most cases, although I have seen it have a pretty decent line (Most of the swithbacks). For food, we usually go to either Coasters Drive-In or the Burrito/Quesadilla place over by Extreme Swing. Speaking of Extreme Swing, make sure you ride Extreme Swing, because S&S Screamin Swings are awesome!

Once the rest of the park opens, go straight to Mad Mouse since it can get long lines due to bad capacity. After that, feel free to hit the rest of the rides at your leisure (although I'd ride Renegade earlier in the day too). Most of the food is your typical amusement park fare, although Chickie's and Pete's is pretty good.

ACES
The month of August for early ride entry season pass holders is Steel Venom, Route 76, Enterprise, Northern Lights, Tilt a Whirl, Scrambler will be open month of August. Get to the park at 9:00am early I was there on Saturday got two re rides on Steel Venom. For Renegade has been running two trains almost every day since they have put the new chain lift on. Also when your on Renegade if you want to re ride if know one is in line and they have two trains running you can stay in your seat without getting off and if someone is in your line you can find a open seat without going around the que again.
