Real people notice you for your ability to be an individual and not parasite off of others. The reason I take time away from posting on here is because I have an outside life (work, gf, xbox360,coasters,podcasting,ect..) and those things have priority. I might have to leave a day early or something like that, but even that probably won't happen. If you have a hard time forcing yourself to wake up early, you will be in trouble. And if you are stupid enough to get on the bus an hour before it departs don't bitch at the smart people who take their time getting a little extra sleep, eating breakfast, showering and applying deodorant before boarding the bus at 5:59AM. larrygator Posted August 4, 2006 Share Posted August 4, 2006 Yes, the Alveys are forgiving and will let you back on the bus at the next destination if your cab makes it, but if you delay the bus for the 53 other particiapants your butt will be left behind and you will be on your own. No ifs ands or buts. For those that worry about not knowing anybody. I only knew 2 others before the trip (Rich and Mel), but Robb and Elissa set up a forum just for the UK Trip members on the site so the 50 some odd of us had a chance to get to learn about each other before the trip. I didn't even know my roommate before the trip, because he was a last minute sign on, but he turned out to be a great roommate. The only trouble occuring in Sweden when he turned on the porn channel in flipping through stations. Neither one of us had a precedent in our life for watching porn with someone we really didn't know as Carl changed the station. Unlikely, the AussieA$$holes we did not get Ben & Jerry's ice cream and settle in with the fine plotlines. LOL But at least we were up nice and early for Liseberg and Balder. I guess what I'm saying is as long as you respect hygeine, people's personal space, obey the group rules and love amusement parks you will fit in, make friends and have a great time. I'm sort of a loner to begin with and as people splintered off into smaller groups I sometimes went off on my own or rotated to a different group for a couple of hours. The fiance and I plan to do the midwest trip (cross my fingers) and Robb and Elissa don't have to worry about us, because we are already "Casey the Ten Foot Tall White Giant" fan club members. In fact, since Casey is already famous, I am going to have to be the president and secretary of his fan club. So, Robb and Elissa, you are safe. Everybody, don't be put off into thinking the trip was really clique-y. It really wasn't. I hung out with a different group of people every day. I found everyone to be quite friendly, I felt that I could go up and talk to anybody or hang out with any of the 50-whatever people on the trip and feel right at home. In fact, when I signed up for the trip, I had not met a single person from TPR. I had only talked to about four people on the trip, then in May I met Derek and Paul. Trip was in June. That's it. Everybody else was an unknown to me, and I left the trip with about 10-15 people I consider friends, still try to keep in contact with, and would hang out with again in a heart beat. Also, ive heard the weather in japan is quite warm in aug-sept. Is it like a Southern US summer where its 90 degrees with 300% humidity or a bit dryer? I don't want to sound like an a$$, but could the people that are seriously considering doing these things, and the people with good things and intelligent things to say actually respond!!!!! I love the insight that Larry, Derek and others are giving and it all really makes me excited at the possibility of getting to go on a trip or two. And I know that others are excited by the thought too, but could you all please read the rules, regulations, posts.... whatever before you post stupid stuff?
